Like stated by lolhalol, SilentX is a con stuff and its dont perform as its stated. Conclusion, it is a crappy fan.. The creator got banned in several forum because he self promoted the fan by posing as customer.

So as for your question, of course Noctua is more silent smile.gif
Ya.. it is a sucky fan. No where near to those really 'branded' fan.
FM121 and FM122 are good but abit too noisy (weak in dba / cfm ratio). Meanswhile, FM123 is total crap according to most user feedback that I read. It is said that its cfm just cant justify the noise its produced.

You cant whine much when it is one of those few 'branded' fan that can easily found in Malaysia. But if you have other option like S-Flex, Minibea and Panaflo, you wont even look at Silverstone fans. Haha.

hehe like you lah.... smile.gif kena my poison smile.gif hehehehe....

QUOTE(Doom @ Dec 29 2007, 03:44 AM)
hmmm .. .. looks like Noctua still my best choice ....

I'm favor of silent more than performance ... as long as it's not below 35cfm on full spin .. it's fine with me ...

So far I hardly feel any strong advantage with high CFM fan ... it brings down an additional 2~2 degree but the noise increment just too much ...
*
seriously minibea is the way to go.. u will not regret...the medium range is the best if u dont like to control ur fans...

QUOTE(E-J@1 @ Dec 29 2007, 04:14 AM)
yup, same here

have to find the sweet spot for it

where the increment on the CFM is useless (doesn't justify the noise increment) rclxub.gif

want full blast = 70cfm, yet ur heatsink has its limit sinking the heat doh.gif

in the end, u'll get a noisy setup just for the sake of 1-2 degree difference than the sweet spot noise or cfm wink.gif
*
hehe minibea brother.. beware once u touch.. u will not go back... like me , irangan , cabelsguy also

Yate Loons are like 1/6 the price of the Scythe S-Flex niah.

Personally I think S-Flex is better but the YL's are great value at 7V .. also they don't last long before sounding "different"

If want cheap and nice, it can't be beat at NT100 per pcs (around RM11). I used them exclusively before I got my S-flex's.

The only other fans that I've played with that can match them are the S-flex and Panaflo's.

Only downside is that they sound "different" after some time (this is for really really picky folks though)

Bear in mind that this is for noise sensitive folks only... for the "airflow tarak cukup.. doesn't blow my hair high enuf" folks, then I suggest stick with the Deltas.

Depend on your definition of good lar.

If it's just POWAAAAAAAAA that you want, there's a lot of fast fans out there.

The tricky part is the right balance of powaaaa n noise.
