Just curious, how do you know that? Have you tested it before?
Or have you read any review about it? If so, pls share the link here.

never use it b4

lyn: couple senior members bashes that model to be overrated (allngap is one of em iirc)

other forums: some members bought it & claim the specs are way overrated

can't remember which forum though, this was long time ago laugh.gif

dunno bout SilenX latest model, but seriously...

90cfm with only 19dba hmm.gif just too good to be true for a 12cm fan blush.gif

company may use the best tech to reduce the fan's motor noise...

but what tech that they can use to reduce the noise yield from the air pushes through the fan?

sound dampening material is one way but it ain't from the fan itself

I see. So the best option is to use industrial fans with a fan controller. Cheaper that way also.

the bigger the fan is:

  • the lower the noise will be
  • the higher the air flow (cfm) gonna be

eg. compare 12cm & 8cm fans

so a 25cm sidepanel (Lian Li PC-7BYCF) fan will generate, i dunno, 100cfm maybe laugh.gif with 19dba only

but pain in the arse finding a replacement for it

yup, thats what i do

during idle (surfing the internet | watching movies) rpm = 1200~1500

during full load, blast the fan to its highest speed laugh.gif

Yup industrial fan is good and cheap too.
If budget allowed you might like to consider Silverstone FM123 (around RM65-00) that came with PCI fan controller.

It is cool fan - 2600rpm; 106.3cfm; 39.5dB

My Delta fan can only achieve 80++cfm in 38dB.

scythe fans cost a bomb... tht's y not much people wanted to buy as paying rm80+ for a single fan is simply over for me... i prefer case fans around rm10 to rm50.... tht's y never try scythe.. heard tht yate loons are not bad, silent yet push quite amount of air and its quite cheap...

I think silverstone fans are over-rated. Manufacturers like CM and silverstone tend to over rate their fans in terms of dBa to performance ratio. After all, they dun make their own fans (mostly OEM). There are many industrial fans which can push more than that of FM123, yet cost <Rm50. Fan controller only costs about RM5-10 if you get from AllnGap. In addition, industrial fans are known to last longer. smile.gif

According to fan sifu AllnGap, Yate loon fans are silent but performance wise not really up to par. I was interested in getting yate loon until he told me so.
