QUOTE(hypermax @ May 13 2008, 09:25 PM) Just curious, how do you know that? Have you tested it before? never use it b4Or have you read any review about it? If so, pls share the link here. lyn: couple senior members bashes that model to be overrated (allngap is one of em iirc) other forums: some members bought it & claim the specs are way overrated can't remember which forum though, this was long time ago dunno bout SilenX latest model, but seriously... 90cfm with only 19dba company may use the best tech to reduce the fan's motor noise... but what tech that they can use to reduce the noise yield from the air pushes through the fan? sound dampening material is one way but it ain't from the fan itself QUOTE(clawhammer @ May 14 2008, 01:31 AM) bulk all scythe products lor or Noctua fans This post has been edited by E-J@1: May 14 2008, 07:38 AM |

QUOTE(E-J@1 @ May 14 2008, 07:34 AM) never use it b4 I see. So the best option is to use industrial fans with a fan controller. Cheaper that way also.lyn: couple senior members bashes that model to be overrated (allngap is one of em iirc) other forums: some members bought it & claim the specs are way overrated can't remember which forum though, this was long time ago dunno bout SilenX latest model, but seriously... 90cfm with only 19dba company may use the best tech to reduce the fan's motor noise... but what tech that they can use to reduce the noise yield from the air pushes through the fan? sound dampening material is one way but it ain't from the fan itself bulk all scythe products lor or Noctua fans |

eg. compare 12cm & 8cm fans so a 25cm sidepanel (Lian Li PC-7BYCF) fan will generate, i dunno, 100cfm maybe but pain in the arse finding a replacement for it QUOTE(hypermax @ May 14 2008, 02:34 PM) yup, thats what i doduring idle (surfing the internet | watching movies) rpm = 1200~1500 during full load, blast the fan to its highest speed |

QUOTE(hypermax @ May 14 2008, 02:34 PM) Yup industrial fan is good and cheap too.If budget allowed you might like to consider Silverstone FM123 (around RM65-00) that came with PCI fan controller. It is cool fan - 2600rpm; 106.3cfm; 39.5dB My Delta fan can only achieve 80++cfm in 38dB. |

QUOTE(clawhammer @ May 14 2008, 01:31 AM) scythe fans cost a bomb... tht's y not much people wanted to buy as paying rm80+ for a single fan is simply over for me... i prefer case fans around rm10 to rm50.... tht's y never try scythe.. heard tht yate loons are not bad, silent yet push quite amount of air and its quite cheap... |

QUOTE(WebWalker @ May 14 2008, 08:51 PM) Yup industrial fan is good and cheap too. I think silverstone fans are over-rated. Manufacturers like CM and silverstone tend to over rate their fans in terms of dBa to performance ratio. After all, they dun make their own fans (mostly OEM). There are many industrial fans which can push more than that of FM123, yet cost <Rm50. Fan controller only costs about RM5-10 if you get from AllnGap. In addition, industrial fans are known to last longer. If budget allowed you might like to consider Silverstone FM123 (around RM65-00) that came with PCI fan controller. It is cool fan - 2600rpm; 106.3cfm; 39.5dB My Delta fan can only achieve 80++cfm in 38dB. According to fan sifu AllnGap, Yate loon fans are silent but performance wise not really up to par. I was interested in getting yate loon until he told me so.This post has been edited by hypermax: May 14 2008, 11:25 PM |
