I understand that, RON90 is about equivalent to 87 Octane rating.
*
Yeah missed the "equivalent" in your earlier post. That said, their's are rated 155hp@6k rpm with 13:1 compression ratio whilst ours is 162hp@ 6k rpm with 14:1 compression ratio. Looks like they backed it off to cater for Regular fuel in the US.

Not only the tuning, hardware also got some difference, the piston is different design from the higher compression version.
*
Yes the higher compression is from the piston. Tuning isn't limited to electronics.

Hi, anyone tried using a USB car charger in a Mazda 3 Skyactive?

I'm a bit worried about not being able to close the armrest after plugging it in since the socket is located quite near the top, but I hope I'm just being paranoid. Thank you    biggrin.gif

I'm considering these two:
*
I'm currently using this. It fits but I think I'm gonna damage the cable soon cos the armrest cover presses down on it when closed.

edit: the samsung will be too long. xiaomi would fit no problem.

not sure if any1 notices...there's actually a small gap for the cable to come out from the armrest so it doesnt press down on it and closes naturally.  hmm.gif
*
Oh no I don't mean the sides clipping the cable. In fact, even without the notch, the gap is large enough the cable can fit out the sides with room to spare.

It's the USB cables that extends upwards (especially the more rigid cables or those with longer heads) into the recessed area in the cover. When you close the cover, it will push the cable back down and it bends near the connector.

Since we're talking about USB chargers for the 12V socket, do you face the situation when you plug in to charge your phone, the static/interference noise on the radio increases significantly?

Mine have this situation and most of the time I mute the radio when I plug the USB charger into the 12V socket to charge my phone. For the record, I'm using Belkin brand.
*
Nope. Didn't notice this. Maybe can pinjam another charger and try?

Thanks chief...Day 5 with the car...haha. Later driving up to Ipoh...lets see how it feels on the highway.
*
It feels very planted. And watch your speed cos you really don't feel the speed you're going at. I suspect it's gonna be a summons magnet for me.

Rubber bolt and no washer is a receipe for disaster, rubber bolt can only hold less than few kg of load and their purpose is mainly to dampen vibration, a body kit should be secure with stainless steel screw/ bolt

The front lip might be very light weight but the wind traveling around it while you're driving at 160kmh can generate another few kg of force, not to mention vibration and the g force, even the heat can harden the cheap rubber bolt and cause it to crack
*
I think it's a loctite bolt. But yeah it should still have a washer.

The bolt looks like this. Or is this the nut? No idea but this is exactly what I was shown.
*
Ok that's definitely bad. Normally it's a metal nut with some rubbery grip material inside.

My brakes were a bit low and the sc did something to it after I brought it up during first service. Better now but it also means I trigger the istop when I don't intend to as well due to higher brake pressure.

The brakes also work better after being warmed up a bit.

Can anyone tell me how many bars or fuel left until your fuel light comes on? Also, if anybody who averages 130km/h in your usual drive can tell me what's your driving range like, how often do you have to fuel in a month on avg?? Even when I drive slow below 3k rpm, below 110km speed I still for the life of me cannot even hit the 500km mark. rclxub.gif

When I drove to Kuantan last time at avg 120kmh I got 600km ++ which is impressive for me, but not compared to others. I don't do harsh brakes and accelerate smoothly also. Gahhhhhh
*
Lights up at 2 bars and has about 12litres in it when lighted. I usually drive around a little on the last bar before I pump.

Our fuel tank is 51litres so the next time you pump, you can see how much you put in and confirm for your car how much is left in case there are slight variations car to car.

Do you really think so? I'll run that by them when I hit the 10k service mark. I didn't want to say that unless I was sure, but honestly I have to drive really lightfooted just to push 450 and I am pumping at least 4 times a month. I got my car end of January and I had 2 months where I had to pump 5 times. That's insane for driving to and from work ONLY.
I'll try to drive up to Penang on the weekends and see how it compares. I'm using Ron95 Caltex. Are you HS or GL?
Stop-and-go traffic only when I'm going home at after hours around 6pm lo. The batu tiga toll smart tag always long queue, then i-city, then the roundabout at eng ann. Okay I suppose that's a lot. But that route I only had 2 traffic lights max.
*
Can you share a couple of photos of your "This drive" page on the fuel economy monitor? One after your morning drive and one in the evening.

Yup just press harder on the brakes. Or put to neutral.

If you go to the Fuel economy monitor, the page with the engine, the text box at the bottom will tell you what to do.

I also wished so~ but the SA said need wait till the cheque is cleared~
My car is already in the showroom since last Friday.
I just paid via cheque last thursday, and the 2nd hand car dealer that bought my old car, just paid the cheque last Saturday, so it only can be cleared on weds and register on thurs he said....  cry.gif  cry.gif
*
Which branch is this? You transferred your car to the 2nd hand car dealer while still waiting for the cheque to clear? Is the used car dealer paying to Mazda or to you?

That is bad practice and the branch I bought from tried to pull this crap on me. Gave them hell for it and refused to transfer my old car until they sorted out the payment.

Mine slightly difference process.
1. 2nd car dealer take car registration card
2. 2nd car dealer perform transfer ownership
3. Release payment for Showroom
4. Showroom perform car registration with JPJ
5. Car ready for collection

All this in just 5 working days.
*
Like that after step 2 your 2nd hand car dealer's cheque can bounce and he can run away with your car.

The dealer is the SA as well.
He settle all the payment before he come collect the balance from me.
*
Ahh ok that's better. Mine was a panel dealer appointed by the Mazda branch. He was supposed to pay the value of my old car to Mazda. Problem was this guy wanted to pay by cheque and for me to transfer my car to him before the cheque clears. And the Mazda branch wouldn't consider the payment complete until the cheque clears.

So I was stuck in between. I kept telling my sales guy, I will only transfer after payment complete. The money doesn't go to my account anyway. It's going into part of downpayment for the new car. Last straw was when the used car guy got my phone number from the sales guy and called me directly. The sales guy kena screw kao kao from me.
