Both errors are expected.. The hypptv box is a weak android box, designed primarily for TM's IPTV service.. Want more, need to get a proper android box.

IMO, accept the offer if the following are important to you;

*6x current download speed.
*Free 600 call minutes per month.
*Have the Chinese pack switched to another or just accept it for the free hypptv channels.
*Do not mind paying extra RM30 monthly for the above. I believe VIP5 is RM149..?
*Dont think so much about the price readjustment in 2 years as newer packages are rumored to be released before then. So you can change.

Just go for it.. ..Might need to get a better router though than stock...That's if you experience WIFI connection issues... Else, leave as is and enjoy the speed bump. A bunch of us on here tried negotiating for FOC calls and got denied... So that's some real bonus there.

Yeah, that's true... For me, the main reason I refused to upgrade as yet.. still on VIP10 and have a few months left... Me wants the newer equipment + renewed warranty period. It's a shame that TM would be so quick to renew one's 2 year contract but be unwilling to swap out older gear with the newer models. From a biz standpoint, I get it though. If it ain't broke... Don't fix it ... If it breaks outside warranty, screw the customer...

I tried that once & didn't work for me. Mine's on the verge of dying soon.. It's plugged in 24/7, but can barely last 30 minutes during calls. I could have it replaced, but currently not bothered as waiting for contract expiration...

Vendor could be right; why not drop by the nearest TM Point or call CS to inquire on current status...

Hey.. I stand corrected.. .. Must have been a bad batch of batteries last time.. Bought some enelooop rechargeable batteries recently; just tested 2 separate pairs and it works.. Can't confirm duration, but being brand new, they should perform much better than the current batteries..

The current phone + batteries are a couple years old. I used to do that before; every few days, will take the phone off the docking station and allow to drain completely (takes a while), plug back in to recharge.. Rinse, repeat... After a couple of months, I got tired of doing such, especially instances where one forgets to plug it back in & it's dead by the time the phone is really needed.. Then must wait..

TLDR; Ain't nobody got time for that..

Here, let me summarize for you..

Local servers: No problem
Foreign servers : Problem.

Tried both and quite slow to load up... Meanwhile, the GSC Android app is speedy...

The currently installed version is probably not compatible with the box.. So try clearing the cache or other versions. Note that the hypptv box is not a very capable device.. Doesn't have enough memory for most full hd streams.. Get a proper android box for much better performance..

Thanks for the recommendation and the info on your site is remarkable. However, what other router(s) compatible with Unifi that outperforms the Asus RT-AC55UHP would you recommend? In terms of downloads handling (mainly torrents), file sharing & streaming (think NAS-like) and wifi coverage & performance. I mean, reasonably priced and besides top dogs such as the RT-AC88U. Alternatively, maybe you could rank them in order of real world performance?

Thanks, will look into that.. I don't mind getting dirty with flashing custom firmwares for that extra performance kick... About torrents, I was thinking something along the lines of hooking up say a 1TB HD to the router and instruct it to download files from torrents or servers... Preferably all done with the PC off, so mobile app/browser support. Need downloading or seeding done with the PC off.

You'll get mixed responses... Some TM CS says, it'll revert to the standard pricing upon contract expiry... Others say it won't.. its 2 years, anything can happen.. Its TM.

I have files that are 40GB++... Also don't think thumb drives are built for constant seeding.
