only need to return ONU/BTU/Modem only as that is their property as it cover for lifetime.... others like router, stb and phone you can keep or sell to others....
*
QUOTE(sHawTY @ Mar 15 2016, 07:30 PM)
Not true

The only thing you have to return is the BTU
The rest you can keep
*
I commented from experience during a previous termination by a pal, they requested everything.. Probably cuz we are expats.. Besides, didn't need any of the items laying around anyway.. Was either strong-armed or changes have been made.. Noted.

My torrent stuck in "Connecting to Peers" since this morning.
*
No issues here; downloaded about 60GB from multiple torrents.. All completed and seeding.. Full speeds.. Check the torrent file, probably not enough seeders. Else, try rebooting everything including PC.

Hi guys. Been having a problem recently with my high ping. I know that there are some issues with underwater cables but my friend who is also using unifi is not having this issue. I am looking to complain to tm. Any ideas on how I should go on about this?
*
Is your friend within the same building or say street as you for a fair comparison? As most time, the issue arises from a fault closer to home.

QUOTE(NotCooll @ Mar 21 2016, 11:38 AM)
what does this mean? I am having problem surfing websites shared on social medias (Twitter and Fb)

This problem seems to appear after switching from Streamyx to Unifi?

Is it DNS problem?
My DNS right now is 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
I found out is DNS problem online, any alternative DNS that is suitable for Unifi?

*Problem only found on phones. Same link posted can be accessed using my computer  blink.gif  blink.gif
*
Using VPN, Ad block or some form of firewall on the phone? DNS setup on the router for all or just the PC?

hi all, need some assistance & advice. I want to change my current Streamyx 1Mbps (my package is the old BB deal which comes with free TM-to-TM call) to UniFi 30Mbps, and keep the current phone number. So if I sign-up through TM official site, can they automatically terminate my Streamyx account? How to tell them I wish to keep the current phone number? It's only RM1 per month right?
thanks all
*
To terminate, you have to call TM or must visit a TM point. Then if out of contract and want newer equipment.. must return also.. Better Call or walk-in to negotiate everything.

i dont think tm will revise the price to fight with time as time coverage are limited compare to tm. tm will rather loss customer on those time covered high rise building than untung less by revise the price...u know la the bloodsucker.
*
Unfortunately, from a business standpoint, makes sense.. It's either the majority of TM subscribers make enough noise or TIME improves coverage significantly, stealing TM's customers in the process..

Perhaps, someone make a post with detailed steps showing the best way to force either company's hand.. About time to foster healthy competition amongst themselves like the mobile telcos.

Just upgraded to Unifi30. Tested my speed can only get 28mbps download and 10mbps upload ? Should I complaint ?
Using stock router and tested the same either wifi or lan. Using google dns.

Don't know why itching need to do something about missing 2mbps...
Also manage to improve my ping time from 9ms to 1ms in speedtest using this free tool.

http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php

Never thought that I need one. Using windows 10 64bit.
*
28Mbps is close enough.. They won't be bothered.. More so if thats the speed you are getting over Wifi.. Probably means that full speed is achievable over an ethernet connection.

QUOTE(Icehart @ Mar 23 2016, 01:10 PM)
Coming from 5Mbps to 20Mbps and then to 50Mbps.

Just sharing - Nothing much changes since the 20Mbps era except faster torrent downloads (currently at 6.3MB/s full speed). But nowadays 50Mbps sitting idle as there's nothing much to download. Downloaded many series but no time to catch up.

Yes 500Mbps would have been better but I'm having problem utilizing 50Mbps now.  laugh.gif

What I'm dulan now is the price TM charges.
*
Well that's your take.. Technology won't be what it is today if advancements were not made and everyone simply sat & accepted their fate. When the black & white TVs were released, should we have stopped there? Or perhaps, stuck with dialup speeds with the 56k modem.. Please do not contribute to the legend that Malaysians love slower Internet speeds.. tongue.gif

Edit: We demand more.. If TIME can do it.. I'm fairly certain big ol TM can.. Besides, imagine how much more we are paying, and could have saved if the pricing was truly fair. The sudden rush to get as many people to renew their contracts makes sense now.. hmm.gif

what is wrong with you? no one mentioned that technology advancement is not needed or prefer slower speed. He just share how his 50mbs was left idle hence 50mbps is pretty enough for him. Why u go bring up grandmother story that is not related at all?

Relax, no need to get your panties in a bunch.. He was kind enough to share his take.. I shared mine.. At least both posts are related to the issue @ hand and this thread.. I even used a "tongue in cheek" emoticon... doh.gif It appears you have nothing relevant to contribute and can't fathom the idea. Kites.. That way - - - >.

Oh i see, i really tot there is something wrong with you. Coz the way you relate ur story to his idea especially when u tag his comments & write something like please don contribute  rclxs0.gif

It is ok now totally understand. sry, i tried really hard just now to think why u reply like that...just the urge to ask this nth personal.

I think next time instead of asking like this i should also write i agree too, 100mbps is not necessary for me but price reduction is a must because i cant even utilize my 30mbps.... so u wont think i didnt share anything...
*
A hint of sarcasm?.. But.. Meh.. Nothing personal as pointed out... Thy opinion is noted.. smile.gif

QUOTE(Icehart @ Mar 23 2016, 05:53 PM)
As mentioned earlier I also prefer 500Mbps but then think if I get it also no use, as not many can utilize it.
Even 50mbps is more than enough for most people.

What we all want is price reduction. if got better speed at cheaper price also good.

understand ur frustration. time better speed and cheaper price, who wouldn't?

From my experience jumping from 20mbps to 50mbps
- surfing speed no improvement, just download speed better.

people should focus on quality of line, rather than speed. latency is always preferred over speed.
*
Valid points.. The only part I'd disagree with is suggesting a particular speed is enough for most people, based off your perceptions of what others "should" need... The same mistake done by they who must not be named. That's exactly how they get away with overcharging us.. Now imagine if TIME decided to do the same? Kept prices up or same as TM.. Most would still assume that paying RM250 for just 50Mbps down & 20Mbps up is fair or that they won't possibly need 500Mbps or even 1Gbps.. I'm sure you have your reasons beyond being able to afford it; to subscribe for the 50Mbps package rather than the cheaper 30Mbps package.

In an ideal world, all corporations will figure this out and make compromises. However and most won't blame them (I.e.shareholders), profits & shafting the masses is more important. Glad we all agree on much lower & fair pricing for quality service across all tiers. smile.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Guys,

Instead of ranting on the cheap Time Fibre subscription fee, why don't we joint force and lodge complaint to MCMC against UniFi?

Lets complain altogether and give some heat to MCMC and UniFI.  bruce.gif

Still a bit skeptical about the new Time Fibre packages until I see proof that the 100/300/500Mbps speeds or even a decent amount of it apply to international sites and content.

I mean it may well be 100/300/500Mbps for local Malaysian traffic like to LYN, M2U and Lelong.my, but who the heck prioritises local content anyway? tongue.gif It may well be that US, CH and EU traffic still plod along at 10/20/30Mbps speeds.

Also would like to see long-term and consistent performance on the part of Time maintaining those speeds. If anything, Time Fibre Broadband has the history of being worse than Unifi at maintaining their service quality levels.

Then, and only then, will I migrate over from Unifi to Time. Goodness knows they have been bugging me to do so at the roadshows at my condo.

Finally, it's well and good basking at high quoted broadband speeds... at least until the next submarine cable snaps or fails. Has the current one been fixed yet? Overseas atm, so I haven't been keeping up.

Been browsing around and so far it's been mostly good news. "Time" will tell.. nod.gif

QUOTE(tritonite @ Mar 23 2016, 11:49 PM)
Indeed. I guess we can keep monitoring the Time-related threads in the forum in the next month or so for teething problems and how quickly Time resolves it.

The last thing I want to do is swap over, sign a new multi-year contract and even change my telephone number, which is an important thing when I am working in Malaysia, only to have the service keep dying on me or have incompetent tech support and response on the part of Time.

So yeah, despite me living in a Time-equipped condo development, I am not going to join the half-crazed masses migrating over just yet. Let's see if they can cope with the inevitable rush and maintain their standards.

Plenty of time to spare.

I doubt I even know what to do with 300Mbps anyway  rolleyes.gif
*
Waiting would be wise.. No issues there since your place is within its coverage. Mine's trickier.. The building right across the street is TIME friendly but not TM friendly and vice versa.. It's a long shot, but one can hope.. smile.gif

Half-crazed masses.. Chuckled at that bit.. Conjured an image of caricatures foaming at the mouth, demanding TM cancelations & TIME registrations.. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

For me, I'd finally setup a nice home/work server, better personal cloud computing.. Dedicated seedbox & better HD video teleconferences.. Just to name a few..

I am more interested in what will happen if TM does not react and respond within the next month.

I foresee images of half-crazed masses outside Menara TM brandishing lighted torches and parangs, with someone in the foreground holding aloft the bloodied severed heads of the CEO of TM and the Minister of Telecoms  laugh.gif
*
Your imagination.. So vivid.. Much hardcore.. Hope no one gets any ideas.. rclxms.gif laugh.gif

I'm also interested in TM's response to this.. Based on the recent rollout of the Advance 30 & 50 plans. Numerous complaints about connection quality, poor routers, insufficient or problematic ports, etc... Its clear they either don't have a handle on it or don't care (money's on the latter). Can imagine how much more mess free-bumping everyone to TIME's new speeds will create. Have to replace a ton of hardware, while getting rid of the ones currently in stock. I think TM's best bet would be to significantly lower current prices, offer better and consistent services and introduce/match TIME's packages. A step further would be even cheaper prices than TIME.. Of course, these are just dreams...for now.. Reality? Eh... smile.gif

no idea..like example Time..they go survey condo how they lay out the main optic fiber from ground to top floor..each floor install optic fiber box (i think so, act as a port)
*
From the ground up and floor to floor? Oh wow... Well, that settles it.. No way TM's going to do that.. sad.gif Newer building constructions or future area roll-outs.. Perhaps...

However, in case they are actually listening.. Hey TM, we love surprises!! biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Hosaka @ Mar 24 2016, 03:40 PM)
+1, i will never forget how they reply my gmail, it took fucking 3 weeks time to reply one single email. and it was my first email to them. hope TIME customer service is better and not lazy like those tards in the company, not picking up phones and stuff..
haha
*
I must commend you on your extreme patience and optimism; hitting the compose button and firing off an email to TM's CS... Then only wait for a response notworthy.gif .. For me, its either via telephone or in person @ their office; depending on case severity.

Come, we laugh together now.. That's until we have to pay the next bill, while thinking how much cheaper or more service one could have gotten with the same amount on a different ISP... biggrin.gif
