QUOTE(Area51SE @ Jun 11 2016, 04:41 PM) I think he's bench marking against the luxury brands such as Mercedes and BMW that's why he feels it looks cheap. Reason because I see him posting about buying a 1 Series or a A-Class in this forum I own a 2015 BMW 5 Series so if im saying im impressed with the interior quality of the Civic then its clear isn't it? |

QUOTE(Jeffreynsx @ Jun 11 2016, 04:50 PM) Actually the 1.8 variant do feel a bit disappointment. Especially the armrest, rough fabric instead of soft touch material. The 1.5 variant seems to resolve this issue. At RM113K+ and with that amount of specs included, ure still complaining? There isn't any issue. Its just a different material. Get real bro. This post has been edited by cybermaster98: Jun 11 2016, 04:52 PM |

QUOTE(netangle73 @ Jun 11 2016, 06:28 PM) I managed to test drive Honda HRV before this, I was told the Civic 1.8 is the same power feeling as Honda HRV as using same engine and gear box. What do you guys think about it ? The Branch Mgr of Honda Damansara told me that he felt the Civic 1.8L drives much better than the HRV and the CVT is tuned differently. He said those who bought the HRV would b kicking themselves. |

QUOTE(berann @ Jun 12 2016, 10:33 AM) Agree! The fabric on seats , door panel and especially the center console looks cheap and spoil the interior premium look. Yes 14k is quite a lot vs turbo. But will have totally different driving experience for me for next 7-8 yrs. Trust me..a turbo or hybrid car with max torque from 1-2k is really fun to drive especially on city drive. One of the reason Germans cars are fun to drive also bcos of the powerful turbo engine. Lol just my opinion. There is no max torque at 1-2K. Max torque is reached at 5,500RPM for the Civic. |

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Jun 12 2016, 12:09 PM) Ecotint is quite a high IRR %. Almost 90-95% IRR depending on which type. I just installed Llumar Diamond 6 security tint for my own car yesterday. TSER 59% VLT 63% IRR 97%. Break strength 181 Ib/inch. 10 years warranty. The 50% i guess is the TSER %. Highest on market is around 60-65% TSER in market So hoping to do the same for the Civic when it comes. Hope ill get a voucher/rebate from my SA in KL. When discussing tints, always use the exact product model not just the brand. Each brand has about 10-15 models. Also check the break strength if ure comparing security tints. Don't just install solar tints. What's important is your safety too. The highest grade security tint from Ecotint is the Ray Barrier Signature Class Aegis 6 if im not mistaken. TSER 64% VLT 58% IRR 97% Break strength 130 Ib/inch. This post has been edited by cybermaster98: Jun 12 2016, 03:07 PM |

QUOTE(Xaphier @ Jun 13 2016, 01:13 PM) So Civic legroom is actually shorter than City & Almera? Never knew about this, can anybody confirm with specifications compare? I do not own any of the car, but would be a bummer to know that B-segments cars have larger cabin space compare to a C-Segments. The Civic rear legroom competes with my BMW 5 Series. So if indeed the City & Almera has more legroom then they are better than the 5 Series also. |

QUOTE(dtna7 @ Jun 13 2016, 02:22 PM) The city rear seats are tiny ones, zero thigh support, and angled almost 90 degrees. Well observed! If you measure leg room from the gap between the rear seats to the front ones, then the ones making the tiniest seats wins LOL. Can't believe people actually didn't see that. The City gets bigger shoulder room (it appears) by making the doors plastic really tiny as well. Honda so clever, give you less and make you think it's more. |

Made another visit to the Honda showroom. Went into the Civic and City 2 times each to make direct comparisons. Following are my brief findings:
1) Rear legroom - City and Civic have almost if not same rear legroom 2) Fabric seats - The fabric seats on the City are better than the Civic 3) Rear seats - marginally more thigh contact area in the Civic vs the City And yes the fabric 'cushion' on the middle console and side door panels does look & feel cheapo and it does reduce the overall premium feel of the Civic 1.8L cabin. We need to do something about this. |

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Jun 14 2016, 11:31 AM) that's grey right? Yeah ruby red is surely out. And the modern steel makes the car look oldie I think. Doesn't stand out on the road especially since the road is already grey. i still eager to look at lunar silver ruby red such a turn down color Best colors for this Civic is the Pearl White and Lunar Silver for sure. |

It seems that banks are revising their hire purchase rates for the Civic...downwards after the launch.
You can now get <2.80% for 9 yr loan for 1.8L Civic. |

Has anybody successfully agreed with any Honda dealer to upgrade their 1.8L seats & panels to leather?

QUOTE(jimmychangas @ Jun 15 2016, 02:21 PM) I scrolled back a bit in this forum, some dude mentioned that for about 3k you can upgrade the seats and panels to leather. Is the 1.8S all plastic in the interior? 1.8S interior is soft touch materials and the fabric. Not too bad actually. Just the fabric gives a bit of a cheapo feel to the overall cabin. |

QUOTE(knwong @ Jun 15 2016, 08:35 PM) I'm thinking since this Civic comes with remote start, plan to install only the basic tint package offered by Honda. No need to get the more expensive tint. What you guys think? The focus should be on safety more than comfort. So I would always go for a security tint. If we can spend >100K on a car, im sure we can top up 1-2K for a good security tint. I just installed Llumar Diamond 6 on my own car. Makes a huge difference. Car left in the heat for hours and ure not cooked in your seats when u get in. Just 10 secs of the aircon and the car has cooled down considerably. |

QUOTE(knwong @ Jun 15 2016, 09:36 PM) And the RM1500 3M or EcoTint recommended by HM are not security tint? They are. But ensure u get good IRR too if not all u get is the security minus the heat protection. Don't forget temperature's these days are on the increasing trend and it will only get worse. Invest in a good security tint with at least 94% IRR. |

QUOTE(berann @ Jun 15 2016, 11:35 PM) Looking at Honda 3M and Ecotint specs, is not worth 1500. Is lower range from 3M. With 1500-1600, you can actually get Raytech MX 5mil TESR 57% & IR 85% which is much better. Front and read windscreens are usually not tinted with security tints. My car always park under hot sun. So i plan for Raytech best tint 6 mil with IR 98% for front/back/side. Can get about 2.5-2.6k after discount. Really good after tested my boss car. Since will drive for 7 years min, Ill go for best tint and not to regret later for cheaper tint just to save some money. Decided to go for Raytech after comparing other top brands like Llumar/3M/Vkool/huper optik. I believe all these are equally good. Just my opinion, go for good tint for better comfort/cooling, better interior protection & better safety for the next few years. |
