I have a 2012 City.
I also did my tint outside.
One day i found my driver side power window got minor stuck, went to service centre and complaint. The SA said we always use that window, might resulted in collecting dust and caused minor stuck. They help to clean the window edge and the power window return back to normal, no charges. Also not say that void warranty.
I think it really depend on particular service centre, they want to make money from you ofcourse they will "threaten" you about void warranty issue.
Rule of thumb is always have a good relationship with the Service Manager. He can work wonders for you! biggrin.gif

I like Ruby Red a lot. Easy to maintain also. But black also very charm, see which color arrived first.
Easy to maintain? U must be joking. White and dark colors are the most difficult to maintain.

It depends on your ride. Just now I drive out from the showroom and along the way can get only 8.XX km/l with RON 95 inside the petrol tank. After refuel with V Power Racing, now can get 12.XX km/l. As a conclusion, the km/l indicated on the meter is subject to the quality of fuel you pump to the vehicle.
Sadly, that is completely NONSENSE bro.

I think you need to read up a lot more on RON and the different grades of fuel.

Nobody tests FC using that method. The best method is always FILL-DRIVE-FILL-MEASURE.

And everybody knows that until the engine has 'broken in' sufficiently, FC will never be stable.

The reason is because the car is so low after fitted in two adults at the back of the seat.
What has the car being low got to do with clearing the side wall? rclxub.gif

Ya, I have a friend with this color VW, not bad, few years already still good condition.
Being in good condition vs being difficult to maintain are 2 totally different aspects.

U can have dark colors or white but u need more effort in maintenance in order to keep the condition good.

If my comment is okay to you, you can follow: Drive within 90km/h, avoid sudden braking and sudden acceleration until you reach 1000km or 1 month whichever come first.
Breaking in a car doesn't involve driving at a slow speed. It's all about the acceleration and braking. You can drive up to 130kmph but do a gradual pickup and cruise gently.

The cars we drive now are far more advanced than cars 10 years ago.

Went to fill up on petrol..

Kinda disappointed to see the range computer telling me range only 530km.

I tot can run for 700km per tank??
The range shown is always based on your driving economy during the previous full tank.

And the range will always adjust itself during your actual drive. It drops faster when u accelerate.

i buy cheap cheap llumar.. titanium 4-50. had to top up RM700 cuz they gave free tint worth RM1500 . i think would have been cheaper if we did it outside but i didn't wanted to nego on price.. just speed of delivery.

car coating defly thinking about it. but don't know how much it cost and what is good in the market.. cuz i heard honda paints not that good..any recommendations? not too expensive though if possible.

my in law bought a passat 2 weeks ago so his looking around to see if we could get a cheaper price if we did it together.
This weekend Regal Valet, Damansara is offering promo for their coating.

They are a premium car spa. They are the official detailer for BMW Quill, Lotus Malaysia, Bentley and Mazda TTDI. My BMW was coated by them. Very good aftersales and customer service.

Their promo for the MOHS+ Quartz coating is only RM2,180 for the Civic and comes with a 4 year warranty.

I also joined their Auto Bath Club spa. RM60 per month for unlimited washes.

mayb too used to dual clutches.. that cvt's power delivery feels so numb... the power is there.. but the kick really tak ada.
Yes that was my one of my earlier comments where I said owners who think they are getting a powerful car just cuz of the word 'turbo' will be disappointed cuz the CVT gearbox actually takes a lot of the fun out of having a turbo car...soft turbo or otherwise. I still don't think it was a wise choice by Honda to pair a CVT with their turbo.

Guys, we can't be discussing trivial issues like overheating by comparing the heat that is discharged by the engine compartment. That's like school boy talk. And leaving the engine compartment open to supposedly 'cool down' is just silly in my opinion and so old school. Let's be more analytical and logical in our discussions shall we?

Every car manufacturer designs their engines and the heat discharge systems differently. BMW for instance discharges the heat from their engines under the car. So if u're standing next to the engine after a long drive in a BMW u'll feel the heat at your feet more than when u open the car bonnet. That doesn't mean that BMW engines are not 'hot'. Its just the way the heat discharge system is designed.

And we're talking about an established car manufacturer here. This isn't Proton or some other rubbish manufacturer. This is Honda. The Japs are well known for their attention to detail. Their cars are not the best spec'd or best in safety compared to the Europeans but they have excelled in 1 aspect and that is QUALITY & DURABILITY.

So let's stop with this discussion about overheating just cuz we saw pics on FB about ONE case in Thailand. No car is perfect and im sure each of our cars will have issues. That's why we have the warranty for. So if an issue does happen, we'll deal with it at that point in time. No reason to be deliberating some 'potential' issue e.g overheating. Im more interested in the driving dynamics of the car, suspension, throttle response, CVT performance, problems, etc. That's what I expect from the owners who have already collected their cars.

I see no harm in discussing engine heat, driving dynamics and so forth.

The point of this thread is to share ideas, opinions and concerns ... whether it is school boy issue or not it doesnt matter.

You can always choose to ignore the discussion instead of imposing rules of what can and cant be discussed.
The engine overheating issue is not an issue. It's been discussed many times and there is no conclusion because it was a SINGLE case. So pointless asking and discussing the same thing unless and until it happens.

There are more important things to be discussed and this thread should be discussing those points. Most of the discussions here have been good but let's weed out the nonsensical ones. If its not nipped early, we risk turning this thread into some fanboy thread discussing trivial issues.

No issue so far. Some very good discussions here already. But let's just cease with the overheating issue.

Again this is my opinion / suggestion and nobody is imposing any rules. You can either choose to follow or continue your discussion on the heat. Read up & understand before passing judgement on me.

This incident was reported on 16 June 2016 and was published on Honda Malaysia's FB page by Zaphron Lee:

Dear Honda Malaysia,

We see this as a very serious issue and Honda Malaysia need to read this; We want feedback from Honda Malaysia ASAP!

Incident occurs 16 June 2016 on 12pm at Autoworld Asia Sdn Bhd located at Sg Buloh. My parents own an Honda City and they brought it to service at the above mentioned AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE. After being informed that the "SERVICE" for the car is done, my parents went for car collection. We are CHARGED RM600 for the service that should HAVE INCLUDED the following:
1) Changing lubricant & Oil Filter
2) Cleaning the injector
3) Car washing & Vacuum
4) Other maintenance (which didnt state clearly)

My dad happened to put marking on the OLD oil filter and realised that the OIL FILTER is NOT CHANGED !!! AND YET WE PAID FOR IT. After thorough checking on the other items above, the lubricants are not changed as well as it is dirty and in dark color. The injector are not cleaned as dirt stains are still found. The only thing that it has been done is the car washing & vacuum !!!

After a round of arguments with the personnel at work, they have agreed performing all the above work again. And then my parents left the place with unsatisfactory experience.

WE need Honda Malaysia to know and aware of:

1) The employee (do not want to disclose the name), informed that the service manager is outstation and unable to attend to my parents when they are complaining on the issues above; and she claimed that we will be settling this with the service manager on a later date. We do not know whether it is an excuse to stay away from the responsibilities.

2) The receipt, written and signed commenting that "oil filter not changed" is being unfair to us. In fact, the Authorised Service Centres do not perform all the above service. The statement is now VAGUE because of my parents are not well verse in ENGLISH and they do not know what can they do when they faced this.We think that the particular authorised service centre employee are trying to drag this issue to the future and let this issue fade like nobody cares. Yet make use of the weak points of my parents on the weak english and stating ONLY the oil filter not changed.

3) We are not sure how many cars have under-went "SERVICE" like this and this is a very serious safety issues! Yet we have visited the branch quite a number of times and we doubt they really do the service.

4) We entrusted Honda Malaysia and their respective Authorised Dealers/Service Centres to provide quality service and we are really disappointed with this issues. This will affect the good names of Honda Malaysia.

We need Honda Malaysia to :
1) attend to us on this matter
2) give us a proper explanation on this
3) provide a proper ways i.e email for complain purpose (web survey form & call line are useless)
4) perform an investigation on this matter (using the premise cctv as evidence if possible)
5) making sure this will not happen to the other car owners
6) making sure this will not happen in other AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTREs

I, representing my parents, can be reached by cheeyung91@gmail.com and +60182859518 should Honda Malaysia needs additional INFO.

Thank you very much,

If you want to install leather, make sure you go to an established shop that deals with mainly high end cars and has a good track record. The price may be higher but at least you reduce the risk of poor workmanship.

I can recommend 1 or 2 shops that deal mainly with BMW customers.

Just book for my car. Want to know, any place i can test drive 1.8? 1.5 turbo for a normal driver like us the feel is there (upgrade from vios) but a bit skeptical with the new engine. If engine always too heaty might not be good for the long run. But i am not in a hurry to get the car so i can wait longer until further review to get 1.8 or 1.5. Difference of 14k is huge though...
Like I said earlier, the heat issue is a non issue for the moment. Asking a million times wont provide any solutions. Turbo cars generally give off more heat than a NA engine. That's a fact. U cannot compare the heat discharge between a turbo vs a normal Vios for example.

There are more than enough reviews out there on the internet for u to read. And just cuz 100 owners on LYN don't experience an over heating engine over the next 6 months doesn't mean there wont be one in the future. You might be the first to experience it 1 year down the line. So waiting is not a logical move unless u're doing it for financial reasons or to compare other makes. The wait list now is already 3-4 months.

I booked a 1.8L for my wife cuz the specs were top class and we don't need 2 turbo's in the family especially since the Honda version is a soft turbo. So I wasn't prepared to spend 14K more. If ure not someone who enjoys a fast drive often enough, I suggest u stick to the 1.8L.

Yes all variants have powered seats and nobody is changing the seat. Only the leather is installed.
