Depends on what you play the most. For me it's a Zelda console.

When Nintendo cant even be bothered with their own VC, your Switch evolves into what it needs to be to survive.

First of all, your 25,000 yen price is off the mark and outdated. That's January news. It's 29,970 yen. http://www.sofmap.com/product_detail.aspx?...&gid=GF44010000 From your beloved Sofmap website itself.

that translates to RM1,200. Add in your 25% for "personal courier", bumps it up to RM1,500. No games.

Lowest price locally is RM2,099 bundled with 1,2, Switch and Zelda, 3 random Amiibos and RM100 cash voucher.
http://www.impulse.com.my/nintendo/switch-...07-03-2017.html

1,2, Switch is RM229, Zelda is RM259. Total RM488.
http://www.impulse.com.my/nintendo/switch-games

RM2,099 minus RM488 = RM1,611. Minus RM100 cash voucher you can use to buy your next Switch game, becomes RM1,511. Minus RM38 for each of the three Amiibos they bundled randomly, https://www.lelong.com.my/kx/animal+crossing+amiibo.htm

becomes (1511 - 58 - 58 - 58 = RM1,397).

RM1,397. Even if you consider that RM100 cash voucher as worthless, that'll bump it up back to RM1,497. Still RM3 cheaper than your "personal shopper/courier" RM1,500 Japanese Nintendo Switch.

Apa lagi lu mau? Want cheap, go earn in USD or Japanese yen lah.

ADDENDUM: The only way you can "save up" on a Japanese Nintendo Switch is that RM300 "personal courier" cost you can play around. Unless you have an angel willing to do your legwork hunting for the Switch there and bringing it in hand-carried at zero cost, I bet you that RM300 will be dwindling down to nothing once the person starts asking for compensation for doing your shopping.

Wow, I did the exact calculations and you're right, there's really little difference. Overtime games might be cheaper and it makes the bundle less attractive but at the moment still quite worth it.

Edit: On top of it ,You still need to factor in the warranty part. Just a peace of mind.

I see two sides of problems here: the consumer and the distributor.

Consumer side: they're ignorant and lazy, potently dangerous combination. Ignorant about the facts (pricing and cost of bringing Switch in), and lazy to find out about the cheapest deal in town, and needs to be spoonfed. Hell, if I look a little bit harder, I can find a used Switch for RM1,688 with no games, somewhere in Miri. In the day and age of search engines and social media, it's infinitely easier to spout off ignorant bullshit without fact-checking because you're safe behind the anonymity of posting behind a username.

Distributor side: they're greedy. They bundle in items the purchaser dont necessarily need, thus bloating the price up. I don't want shitty 1,2,Switch and I certainly dont give a shit about the three Amiibos. The onus is on me to get rid of these things to recover back the cost I paid for a bundle I don't need.

Now, if he's complaining about the distributor bundling bullshit items into purchasable Switches here, I'd agree with him 100%. Already the same practice is done by GameStop in the US, they're not selling Switches unless it's in a bundle. Up to USD600 to 700, with the same modus operandi: Amiibos, two games, cases, starter kits, etc. But the people there in the US have the option of buying their Switches FREE from these shitty bundles, if they're fast and patient enough, via Amazon or Nintendo direct via their website. Malaysia? Maxsoft. "Maximum-squeeze because everyone else is soft on their shitty practice". That's what Maxsoft stands for.

Until you get Nintendo's official Malaysian representation and presence here, you will forever be paying shills like Maxsoft, lining their piggybank with shady practices like this. Like GameStop is doing to their own customers. Difference is, Americans have options. Malaysians has zilch.

ADDENDUM: I changed the word "reseller" to "distributor". Resellers here have no choice but to comply to these shitty Maxsoft practices and become an unwilling participant in channelling Maxsoft's greed. Resellers like Impulse, Heavy Arm, GH, even our dear own Kyo, have no say on the price, nor do they have a choice in tagging said price, unless they're willing to hurt their own bottom line. Business is business, but business has its reasonable and apropriate profit level. What Maxsoft does with its business model is despicable, local resellers have no choice but to work around this shady business model of Maxsoft to price their items.

Basically Nintendo don't give a shit on how and how much their distributors is selling their hardware, they just concern about how much sales their distributor can generate.

Even those distributors like Maxsoft is hurting their image in this region directly or indirectly, I doubt Nintendo HQ even care at all, as this region's market share is relatively small compared to other region.

I'm already boycotting Maxsoft on how they handles the Nintendo products in this region.

The way I look at it, if you don't wanna care or do something about what Maxsoft is doing squeezing the local market here to line its own pocket, you can't complain about the price, because technically you've already agree with the price, right?

Coz in the end, if nobody cares about "the bigger goals" or the "the bigger picture" (escaping Maxsoft's grasp, and establishing local presence), all you're doing is taking care of your own self, "lepas diri sendiri" only, looking for the best deal for your own, the same thing Maxsoft is doing, selfishly looking after its own self and its own profit.

No wonder the prices are crazy, how many parties you have to go through to get your Nintendo items?

1st party (Nintendo) ===> 2nd party (Nintendo regional, Nintendo HK) ===> 3rd party (Regional distributor, Maxsoft) ===> 4th party (local Malaysian resellers) ===> you.

And between these 4 middlemen, each of them pad in their profits into the final price, before it even finally reaches you. Between 1 and 2, there wont be much differences other than minor difference in currency pricing. 3 and 4 will inevitably pad their profits into them.

Well Imo yes its shitty that have to bundle in that 1-2 switch but the end price isn't that big of a difference u save when u can pick it up from a place locally like impulse, check it on the spot if there is any problem. Even postage impulse often have few days 1-1 exchange policy.

Much easier than going back to a ship it from Japan through a middle man, might end up with problem. Talk back to the middleman and they blame it on the shipping courier for damage. Been burnt once like that and I just think for an item that isn't terribly difficult to acquire locally there isn't too much of a need to go through all the hoops and its not like they r charging absurd amount over the top.

Going full digital.. That probably will require a lot of space though.
My 128gb will just be for dlc mostly, or expansion..

Still like my physical games better, collection wise.. also in case of emergency and I go broke xD

Some of these orang puteh on these online forum can be even more hopelessly moronic than the most hopeless, out-of-touch folks I've met around here that have an affinity against using anything modern like search engine or online shopping.

Siap kena pegang tangan, handholding....some even straight up wants to be told whats good for them and what to buy.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php...1#post233505114

Nintendo Switch charging related. Post #10541 onwards. I don't wanna assume or put out a blanket statement that these hopeless fools are clueless when it comes to putting 2 and 2 together, but when handholding goes to the extreme like this, like "just tell me what to buy, and I'll buy it" kinda mentality, without fact-checking or even check-and-balancing what's being recommended to them, no wonder America's f**ked.
