Then humanity is doomed. Have people these day become so careless with their purchases that they simply follow blindly any sort of recommendation without fact-checking them? In the case of these idiots, to the point that if I'm a bastard of a person, I can just simply recommend something dangerous and.....

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Apr 6 2017, 02:43 PM) First of all, your 25,000 yen price is off the mark and outdated. That's January news. It's 29,970 yen. http://www.sofmap.com/product_detail.aspx?...&gid=GF44010000 From your beloved Sofmap website itself. that translates to RM1,200. Add in your 25% for "personal courier", bumps it up to RM1,500. No games. Lowest price locally is RM2,099 bundled with 1,2, Switch and Zelda, 3 random Amiibos and RM100 cash voucher. http://www.impulse.com.my/nintendo/switch-...07-03-2017.html 1,2, Switch is RM229, Zelda is RM259. Total RM488. http://www.impulse.com.my/nintendo/switch-games RM2,099 minus RM488 = RM1,611. Minus RM100 cash voucher you can use to buy your next Switch game, becomes RM1,511. Minus RM38 for each of the three Amiibos they bundled randomly, https://www.lelong.com.my/kx/animal+crossing+amiibo.htm becomes (1511 - 58 - 58 - 58 = RM1,397). RM1,397. Even if you consider that RM100 cash voucher as worthless, that'll bump it up back to RM1,497. Still RM3 cheaper than your "personal shopper/courier" RM1,500 Japanese Nintendo Switch. Apa lagi lu mau? Want cheap, go earn in USD or Japanese yen lah. ADDENDUM: The only way you can "save up" on a Japanese Nintendo Switch is that RM300 "personal courier" cost you can play around. Unless you have an angel willing to do your legwork hunting for the Switch there and bringing it in hand-carried at zero cost, I bet you that RM300 will be dwindling down to nothing once the person starts asking for compensation for doing your shopping. pretty sure they still put 25k yen in their shop last week with game too bad didnt take picture lets see if the offer is still there next month. pretty hard to miss when its the first thing you see when taking the escalator This post has been edited by Frostlord: Apr 7 2017, 09:28 AM |

All you provided are conjectures and anectodal statements with no proof to back it up. I can also say I saw Nintendo Switch in Tsim Sha Tsui or Mong Kok selling below RM1,000 after conversion, but nobody's here gonna take my bullshit unless I back it up with evidence. For all you know, your 25,000 yen is the price after you trade-in older games/consoles or if you do a dance in your underwear in front of Sofmap Akiba. You're talking to a traveling veteran here, I did all my shopping in Japan during my formative airline working years, and I never base my purchasing price on "what other people thought they saw on the street". Concrete evidence on official links, not some shady "I thought I saw" nonsense. P/S: if you're even slightly knowledgable about how Nintendo price their stuff, they are notorious for not dropping price until waaaaaaaaaaayy later in the shelf life of their consoles. 25,000 yen? Sure, you can even get it for RM980 after conversion for just the console in used videogames stores in Japan like BookOff, but we're not talking about used here are we? |

QUOTE(Frostlord @ Apr 7 2017, 10:41 AM) Yup, we all know you posted no evidence. You came here, post your one-liner post with nothing worthwhile and no contribution to the thread other than your misguided whinings. Museum of Kopitiam suits your style of post better. Back to the topic at hand, anyone looking for one in Osaka, Bic Camera Abeno Q Mall branch near Tennoji JR Line station will be getting stock tomorrow, maybe someone can finally put this "hilarity" about the 25,000/29,980 yen price of a Switch in Japan to an end, with proper evidence this time, than just "I thought I saw it" nonsense. Inb4 "it's Bic Camera, not Sofmap". Still remember the times on the Osaka Loop Line getting to DenDenTown. Nipponbashi is so much more navigable and manageable than Akiba, plus the JR line doesn't cease operation until very late at night, unlike Tokyo. |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Apr 7 2017, 08:45 AM) Some of these orang puteh on these online forum can be even more hopelessly moronic than the most hopeless, out-of-touch folks I've met around here that have an affinity against using anything modern like search engine or online shopping. Bro, Siap kena pegang tangan, handholding....some even straight up wants to be told whats good for them and what to buy. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php...1#post233505114 Nintendo Switch charging related. Post #10541 onwards. I don't wanna assume or put out a blanket statement that these hopeless fools are clueless when it comes to putting 2 and 2 together, but when handholding goes to the extreme like this, like "just tell me what to buy, and I'll buy it" kinda mentality, without fact-checking or even check-and-balancing what's being recommended to them, no wonder America's f**ked. While what you did (read, research, buy, test, write) and share is very commendable and I'm sure many silent readers appreciate the technical info, as well as "some layman explanation", there are many people who are not interested to study that in-depth. They will either buy something not tested/reviewed and use it (some works, some doesn't). Or some who has read about your review, and jump straight into the bandwagon to purchase battery pack and cable without further ado. This reminds me of the Simpsons meme "Just take my money" IB4 I'm not omputeh |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Apr 7 2017, 03:08 PM) Bro, While most recommendations for powerbanks and charger with intent to charge phones are relatively safe, when it comes to the Uncharted waters of USB-C and the dangers of out-of-spec cables, powerbanks and chargers, it's important that end users know what they're getting into. USB-A carries low current compared to USB-C and the potential of fire hazard is exponentially larger as we move higher in the wattage these USB-C charging devices. Nope, that's a terrifying possibility with high power delivery components. You can get away with USB-A because of its low power draw, not anymore with USB-C. P/S: you're definitely not omputeh, with a name like Boboi. |

P/S: you're definitely not omputeh, with a name like Boboi. What you say is very true, not just on USB-C, but any 3rd party chargers/cables/battery in our current technology of electrical/electronics. While at a certain stage in life, some (or most) of us will look at cost and buy the cheapest one (me included then). e.g. cheap charger. cheap USB cable. cheap battery pack. etc. We will never know if these devices will melt or burst to flames and burn the house down while we are sleeping. I'm not saying original chargers won't, but generally, the amount of cases are near zero if compared to 3rd party stuff. Penny wise, pound foolish. Nowadays I rather spend a bit more to buy proper stuff. e.g. Bare NS itself costs RM1.2-1.6k (depending on ^^argument^^ where can buy cheapest Same to stuff like RM4k iPhone, if can afford that, buy proper charger/adapter/cable to charge. Don't want to risk spoiling it. Nowadays I switch off all electrical/chargers/wifi AP/modem when I'm going to bed. kiasi Back to topic |

Boboi,
That's a sound precautionary habit. As mentioned earlier, it's less risky with low power draw devices like phones. Grey, That's a negatory, dude. Japan was my stomping ground those days. We never got to stay overnight in HK, since it's a daily flight. |
