Praying is Ultra important, it's the scrape bottom, the very base of how we start our day.

Once you realize God is the ultimate provider of money, positions, etc, then you'll realize it's futile to chase those when God can give it to you.

So what do you do? You chase after God, seeking his kingdom and Jesus's righteousness forgetting about the worry of money or positions.

As for the problem of Lust, the power is broken the moment you realize and understand you have been made righteous forever by grace.

The problem why lust have a hold on Christians is because most still think righteousness is something you need achieve when truth is we already have it.

Once you walk in this truth that you're permanently righteous THEN only should u take the steps to just avoid any materials that can cause you to lust.

We must changed from the leadership, because they are the shepard, we are the sheep. The leadership is moving the right direction but they are not using the right tools. Church is not perfect but we must be moving to the direction of perfection. If we notice something not rightly done, we cannot just say that focus on God and we are sinners as a reason to escape responsibility. 

If we are flawed from the beginning and we still don't improve after conversion, then we are definitely still drinking milk and not eating bread. Its a stunted growth in faith. You know what I mean? Allowance for stubborness, not addressing these issues and only focusing on serving, is not going to make the problem go away. This is manifesting in the church, many people are coming in, but many are leaving too.

You can serve God out of the church, you don't need to be in a church to serve God. There are para church organizations, your workplace is a ministry. If your church isnt functioning as a church, mind as well go and attend an internet church.

I think in terms of money, quality of living, I'm well blessed.

My only issue is temptation of lust. 

But we musn't dwell in our sinful nature right? That's the KEY point.

If Grace causes sin to lose its power, why do we find it a struggle in our life?

Depends on how bad you want it to be removed via prayer.

Have you pray specifically about it to God?

I think this could be the problem, you may not want the lust to go because you enjoy it.

How the heck should I pray for something like that? Its embarassing.

What is so embarrassing when it's a prayer between you and God?

Because God knows my dirty thoughts.

He already knows it whether you admit it or not, might as well commit it in prayer.

Its not that bad lah, I wouldn't say DUMC has gone to the point of corruption and sinful. Its just that they completely neglect fellowship and joyful experience in the church. I just got this gut feeling something is not right going on at the church. But you know, it all starts with good intentions just City Harvest, if no one dares to question, no check and balances, that's when the church starts to get proud.

I acknowledge the need to evangelize and serve. But its not the all in all when it comes to spiritual disciplines of a christian. We need to experience joy in worship and serving. I really hate it, when people say that a person is not experiencing joy, they choose to blame who? The person, and give all sorts of reasons like he is bitter lah, he is sinful lah. This and that. These are just excuses to peel away the need to connect, the need to relate, giving one right to be rude and nasty to one another. Saying that we are just sinners, so we don't have to improve ourselves, we don't have to admit our failures. Of course, there is a limit to admitting failures, we cannot be saying we are wrong all the time, but there are times we are wrong, that's for sure.

But if they go on in this direction of preaching serving over everything else, then they will be doing something worse than stunted growth. Burned out christians ! I see a lot of them. They get disillusioned after serving and giving so much, left the church. Its just sad to see some were there for 10 yrs, 20 yrs, more. Just get their soul sucked, thinking that serving would blessed everything they ever wanted. But its not true. I see people losing jobs, not able to find life partner, not do well in business, feeling empty, divorces, etc. If it is said to be sin, then I agree, to use this one, WE ARE ALL SINNERS. So what's up with that? Just because a person is not blessed its because that person is not working towards it. For instance, how does one find a life partner, if one spends 80% of his or her time after work in ministries? Would you think that someone will find a special someone while serving? Maybe but not all the time. I've seen fellas serving 20 years, and still not find a life partner. Is that because they were punish because of sin? Of course not. Faith without works won't work. If you want to be a doctor, you need to study hard and pass your medical degree. Not serving all day long, praying that you become a doctor when you aren't going to medical school.

Of course I know that He knows la. I prayed but so far nothing.

Can I share how I pray about it?

First I realize we're not going to live like that in Heaven.

With that revelation, I just ask God to remove every form of lust from my life. I told Him I don't want it anymore.

The key point is; I don't want it anymore.

Is it possible you may still want to hold on to part of it? If it is, then perhaps that is why.

I'm not talking about whether you have the power to abstain from it, that is a different thing but the very first thing you need to settle once and for all, is as what I've asked you.
