if put a 120mm fan in rear, how many RPM for the fan will be better? 3000rpm? wink.gif

A 120MM fan with 3000RPm maximum speed is very noisy, today i've gone to moderno's shop and tried the evercool fan which the maximum speed is 2000RPm, it's noisy enough to me, i can't even think of a 120MM fan with 3000RPm, it's gonna be damn freaking noisy... grumble.gif

Take out the heatsink, remove all the thermal paste on both cooler and the processor IHS, reapply a new layer of thermal paste, careful not to put it too thick or too thin... smile.gif

There you should have a lower temps then what you're having right now... wink.gif

3. Need a third party CPU Cooler
Why?
errr... how to say this? Dell stock cpu cooler SUCK!! it wont cool down your processor fast enough especially your 3.0E that famous for producing alot of heat.

*
Bro, irangan, you can't fit in a 3rd party heatsinks on dell's motherboard, as their mounting position is so different with what intel aligned... laugh.gif

I've sold 3 different type of Dell Optiplex pc, and trust me, all of them have different mounting position compared to the original intel mounting position... sweat.gif

i try 2 on my cpu early in da moning, look at bios..
da cpu temp's when as high as 93ş  shocking.gif
then it off automatically
wat da hell happen?da cpu is like tryin 2 boil a glass of water!
so.. icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif
*
What's you're full pc spec, state all the things here, even the harddisk drive and optical drive also, i suspect that you're psu is underpowered.. wink.gif

Bout the cpu temp as high as 93degrees, there should be a bug in you're motherboard sensor, the same problem i faced with my P5WD2-W premium before i send it for RMA purpose... laugh.gif

Give us you're full pc specs bro... wink.gif

hi all,

my notebook idle temperature is pretty weird la..

see this pics:

SENSORVIEW

EVEREST

SPEEDFAN

i don't know what the value if i'm playing games. and now i just bought notebook cooler,
NotePal (R9-NBC-ADAS)

but there're not much difference, idle is only about 64*c-65*c...
*
Answer this two question:

1) What's the age of your notebook?
2) How often & how long do you use your notebook in one day?

I have an assumption on why does that happens, but, i need you to answer those two question above first. smile.gif

my laptop age is about 1 year 3 month i think. ASUS A6R.
on average my lappy runs about 18 hrs per day. before i used that sensor software, i didn't notice any performance drop or system freeze. everything is fine i think.
as usual, when i'm playing games the system going hot but after 5-7 minutes i finished playing games, it returns to normal. no BSOD or else.
is my sensor reporting incorrect value? but, i tried several software and the value is almost same.
*
Okay, i know why this thing happens just after i see you're saying that your notebook "runs about 18hrs a day"

My assumptions, Easy:

Your notebook processor heatsink is already full of dust. smile.gif

I've seen many notebooks that face this kind of trouble.
And all of them has the same problem:
Heatsink A.K.A. processor cooling fan is already full of dust, and your heatsink @ processor cooler is choking with some fresh air. smile.gif
[FYI, my partime work is a computer service technician]

Edit:
I'm an ex student of UiTM Shah Alam.
My customers are UiTM Shah Alam stundents. smile.gif

thanks sHawTY, i've once opened the cpu cover at the back of the laptop cover. and i've examined the fans and the copper, the cpu fan is not too dusty, maybe there're not enough fresh air going into the fan (i think)..and i'm afraid to void the warranty because there're some sticker covering the fan's screw. but, i agree and respect with your opinion.

laptop fans is more hard to compared to desktop... cry.gif
*
Hard?
I can do that in just 30 minutes.

Seriously, your heatsink is full of dust.
It's up to you to trust me or not. smile.gif

You can only see clearly either the heatsink is full of dust or not if you open the whole notebook casing.

I've repaired hunderds of notebook before.
And 50% of them are facing the same problem as yours.

What i do is:

1) Open the whole notebook casing
2) Take out the heatsink & clean it thoroughly
3) Clean the old thermal paste
4) Put a new layer of Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Paste
5) Put everything back to where it was
6) Inspect the new temperature details

And after doing that, their notebook runs even smoother than ever. thumbup.gif

FYI, only 1% of those notebook i've repaired used thermal paste.
The other 99%, just use a chapalang black thermal pad that is not really good in conducting hot temperatures from the processor's die to the heatsink.

How long does asus gives warranty to their notebooks? 2 years international warranty
*
Yes, i am living in shah alam area. smile.gif
TTDI Jaya [Near Stadium & Politeknik Shah Alam]

However, i don't advice you to ask me to open your notebook as your notebook still has 2 year of warranty.

Yes, for notebooks i only use Arctic Silver 5 as all notebooks only uses small heatsink, thus, it need a powerful thermal conductor between the heatsink and the processor's die @ core. smile.gif

I only use "chapalang" thermal paste on desktop pc's. laugh.gif

If it's only 1 year, i could do that.
But still, if you insist, i gladly accept it. smile.gif

aiks. please do this via pm smile.gif

This is mine under priming for nearly 19hours:

hmm i have the same thought when using HR-05, it should be lower ... but some how it turn out other wise .... one of the reason is the 8800GTS that increases the temperature of the case, CPU and chip set by 4 degrees which i spotted before and after getting the GC
*
Bro, that temps is while i'm using GTX liao.
And when i'm using the GTS is also the same.

And yes, the system is in the G7 casing. smile.gif
There might be something wrong with your setup, or maybe the airflow is not properly flown, or maybe you didn't fit your HR-05 on the 965 chipset well. sweat.gif

IINM, the motherboard temp is the chipset temp.

Remember when i'm still on my ASUS P5WD2-E Premium board?
I used to get 48degrees on the stock northbridge heatsink [Motherboard Temp in PC Wizard 2007]
But when i switch the northbridge chipset heatsink to Noctua NC-U6, what i get is 36degrees. [Motherboard Temp in PC Wizard 2007]

Doesn't that shows that the motherboard temp is the northbridge temp? hmm.gif

It sure does look as the northbridge temps to me. smile.gif

wta, im running at 43-46 idle on a e6600 @ 3150Mhz, vcore  1.3875v, tuniq tower fan at full speed, think those temps are slightly on the hot side right?
*
Wehh, u're running e6600 @ 3150MHz at 1.3875volts? blink.gif
Why need to pump the vcore to that extend? sweat.gif

My e6600 is running at 3.2GHz at the stock vcore [1.3125volts] only.
No need to increase the vcore liao...

Mine:
400X8 [3.2GHz] @ 1600MHz bus speed.

Check this:
user posted image

I even did primed my e6600 at that clock speed at the stock vcore for 19hours with no problem at all.

So why did you pump the vcore into that high? shocking.gif

I believe if you set your setting the same as mine, you will have a much much lower temps than what you're having right now. thumbup.gif

Agreed.
It's using Prescott cores aka preshott laugh.gif

Prescott are the hottest core ever produced by Intel. tongue.gif

If you're using stock heatsink and getting that kind of temps, i believe your motherboard sensor chip got bugs in it. laugh.gif

Ok, try my method first la bro. smile.gif

It's worth a shot. thumbup.gif

Make it as 400X8 @ Stock Vcore, dont adjust anything on the Vcore. smile.gif

FSB set at 400MHz
Multiplier set at 8 [Yes, decrease it smile.gif ]

My e6600 ES is also quite hard in overclocking when i set the multiplier to 9 sweat.gif
