here's some reference
my rig's condition

tried to play game, temp increases very fast, but cool down also quite fast...
anyway, which temp should i refer to in speedfan? temp 1 or temp 2?
*
No wonder you're getting high temps.
You put the Noctua fan in the wrong style. sweat.gif

The style u're using right now is you're exhausting the heat back to the casing.
Now what you have to do is turn the fan the other way around.

Make it to blow directly to the heatsink.

Another thing, don't use the 3 pin wire extender that you got with the packaging.
Just plug directly to the motherboard. smile.gif

changed the fan opposite way edi, temp still almost the same, just that the cooldown is slightly faster...  sad.gif
applying too little thermal paste will cause the temp high or not?
i really can't figure what's the prob edi  sad.gif
*
Hmm...
This shouldn't be true.

As my previous Pentium D 820 runs at 65degrees on idle on stock cooling with intel stock thermal paste. rclxub.gif

When i change the heatsink to Noctua NH-U12F, the temps goes as low as 40degrees. That means 20 degrees differences compared to stock intel heatsink.

I wonder what's the problem with your system. hmm.gif

i dont intend on running it on passive cooling if i get the S1, will use NMB 140cfm x2 to blow it
*
Arctic Cooling S1 doesn't work well with high CFM fans.
There won't be any differences at all even if u use high speed fans.
It's better to use mid-silent fans with it.

If you're long enough in air cooling heatsink, then you'll know why.
Any heatsink doesn't matter CPU or GPU heatsink that is originally made for passive mode won't work well with high CFM fans.

Examples: Scythe Ninja, Thermalright HR-01

So, don't waste your ear drum for hearing the noisy fans. laugh.gif

hey guys 51C CPU temp.. is normal or abnormal?
Btw, is possible to change the fan speed? my fan speed is 1500+ rpm only.
PS: no full load.

That's high.
Incredibly high. sweat.gif

Mind telling us what kind of processor are you using right now? hmm.gif

Intel processor p4 2.8ghz
intel mobo soket 775
so high ar... die die
wats temp considered as normal?
*
That must be a Pentium 4 520 i think.
Since it's a Pentium 4 2.8GHz LGA775.
It's using a prescott core. [A.K.A. PresHOTT] laugh.gif

Pentium 4 processors shouldn't go that far even on stock heatsink.
IINM, it should be in the area of 45 - 48 on idle.

Perhaps there's a problem with your casing airflow.
Or maybe your stock heatsink is clugged with a lot of dust.

Mind taking a picture on the internal of your rig so that we can advise you on what to do next? smile.gif

Pentium 4 2.80 Ghz

I don't change anything inside my pc, using the heatsink of the proc, what should i add to cool it down? Man, today my pc auto shutdown due to the heat.  cry.gif
*
Take out your heatsink, clean it up thoroughly with a water jetstream, clean up the fan blades clean up the base of the HSF from any old thermal paste, clean up the IHS of your processor, put some new thermal paste at a size of a rice grain on top of the processor IHS, DON'T Spread the thermal paste by yourself, just put back the heatsink on top of your processor, and leave it lock the HSF to your motherboard, then everything is done.

By doing this, it should lower down the temps of your processor and stop the overheating.

Owh and by the way, it's good if you can use a good thermal paste such as Arctic Cooling MX-2.
Don't use those white ceramique thermal paste, they're crap.

Thanks guy, after using the method your guys provided, now the temp down to 48-54.

Just wonder, if the proc overheated too much, what will happen?
*
Whose method? blink.gif

What will happen?
When the processor reaches it limits on heat, the motherboard will turn off everything.
But don't expect it to do the same thing over and over again by itself, as later on, one day you'll find your processor fried, then you would have to replace it with a new one. laugh.gif

so, the northbridge one is the "motherboard" temperature?
Not 100% True Actually.
As different motherboard shows the motherboard temperature to another different area.

my budget RM100-150 only ler

i checked online that HR-03 GT cost RM200++
HR-03 GT will still be more than RM150 even when it arrives malaysia.
Expect it should be not lower than RM190 smile.gif

Eh... HR-03 Plus is RM190... Hope the price of the GT is reasonable...
Try to compare HR-03 Plus & HR-03 GT.
Do you see any differences?

Only a slight differences, which won't make HR-03 GT any lower than RM190. tongue.gif
