bro if ur hsf is cold to the touch that means it isnt working ... if ur heatsink is hot or warm to the toucvh that mean it is conducting the heat. this applies to all heatsinjks big or small.... if its cold so that means it s not working, try reseating the hsf or change to a different hsf...

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Dec 13 2006, 06:25 PM) What kind of heatsink u're using for you're E6300? Stock intel heatsink? 3rd Party Heatsink? If this is the answer, mind to tell me which 3rd party heatsink u're using now? Infinity..I didn't overclock..Load at 58c. This post has been edited by king99: Dec 13 2006, 06:53 PM

QUOTE(king99 @ Dec 13 2006, 06:53 PM) Infinity..I didn't overclock..Load at 58c. definately wrong reading if u make sure all the things done correctly. using infinity for non o/c E63 should get 40-45 (idle) and 46-50 (load with orthos). just a reference here: i'm using ultra-120 with e64 o/c 400x8 at 1.375v, 51 (idle) and 55-56(load with 2 foldings) or 58-59 (load with orthos). my reading consider quite high d as my air flow not really good. 1x80mm intake, 1x120mm + 1x80mm (psu) exhaust. no sleeving any wires (quite messy). *my readings depends on the weather too

well i doubt its the thermal paste too thick coz if the hsfs mounted properly it will spread out so no more thick... the main thing is the mounting pressure..

rite... if u mount the hsf properly, there should be no thermal paste thickness matter since it will spread out .... just my 2 cent... maybe something related to ur casing ventilation....
