android phones don't last long like iphones.

don't think note 5 will upgrade to android 7/8/9...

iphone 4s can also use iOS 9.
*
Although 4s can update to 9, but it will be laggy and jerky.
I stopped update my ip5 and choose to remain at ios7. It's still very fluid after 2years of usage and always left 200mb of space biggrin.gif

On my nexus7 FHD, the updates are fast but also shit happens faster as well. I have battery drain, touch screen and GPS issue in kitkat, touch screen and wifi issue in lollipop, and now battery and orientation sensor issue in marshmallow again. The touchscreen issue was never completely fixed using software due to hardware issue sweat.gif

Since note 5 almost perfect and did not bring much problem to me,then I might be skip note 6 and note 7..unless this two model got significant improvement in battery life then I will consider upgrade..for me, the weak spot of note 5 is battery life and other parts is near to perfect.next phone will still be samsung, dunno why I cannot masuk with other flagship smartphone(iphone 6s plus, nexus 6p, htc one m9, lg g4)..I have played with this two smartphone b4, iphone 6s plus and htc one m9 and still I prefer user interface of samsung.iphone interface is neat and tidy, but I cannot put note on the screen wallpaper.btw, it is individual preferences..if samsung can produce, fast charging phone with long lasting battery, then it will become heaven.  rclxms.gif

Ya still prefer samsung ui even i had tried htc sony xiaaomi and iphone ui
Probably I'm already used with it since I had used samsung for few years

Correction. Only androids on Samsung and the rest of the OEMs don't update crap. Look at the Nexus 5 this is its 3rd year and it's still supported with Android 6.0 that's 3 generations of Android revolution since it's KitKat launch. 4 generations officially or unofficially by CM. Sure the 4S has 4 generation upgrades to date. But Apple is the only one distributing iOS. Android has tons of mediums. It's just up to OEM willing to upgrade their software or not.

Yeah, samsung is famous for lefting their old flagship once they have a new flagship
They even being sued at US due to late software update everytime for user

Yup. Given the high specs with powerful features of phones these days. It won't become obsolete even if you change phone every 3 yrs.

For me, I change it every 2.5 yrs cycle.

I rather upgrade my laptop than phone if you ask me

Is the software thats matter actually, the hardware on the smartphone nowadays is mostly future proof such as 3gb ram,fhd screen, new processor, quality camera

Exactly, people often overlook the importance of software, and focus only on hardware... That's why apple can ask for such premium prices with a seemingly outdated hardware...

I forgot where I read something about Samsungs exec only care about the hardware and not the same towards software. Hence crappy UI and perhaps late update and whatnot.

The RAM management issue still persist even after the latest update, unfortunately.

Truely, Samsung don't care bout software issues.

Sigh. I really want to get the Note 5. But this issue is seriously pissing me off. sad.gif I was using the Note 3 the entire day today, took it out of storage and decided to use it for a day. Sure it was laggy but I find the S Pen quite intuitive. Sigh.

For me the only drawback i can see with the note 5 is the freaking RAM management issue! I want to get the note 5 but due to the issue I'm still holding back.
*
I also have this ram management issues..but this does not affect note 5 performance at all..no lagging even once..just make sure u do not left too many apps in the background(more than 20apps)..so, no biggie for me..my advise to u is, please buy 1 asap..note 5 really shiok..the only drawback is battery life.btw, Im heavy user..always gaming non stop..bahaha

call drop definitely is telco network issue.

anyone using battery saver for your note 5?
tried doze, greenify, clean master, feel like the battery life about the same.
should i delete all, just use samsung original App Optimisation?
mind to share?

no hard feeling but i suddenly felt kasihan to those S6 edge+ users, the phone just few months old and new model launched. Note 5 user slightly better becoz we got the Spen. Samsung seems wanna follow Apple style to launch same design in following year. but apple is every 12 mths, samsung ... every 6 months?

My note 5 sometimes when plug in charger, not display 'fast charger connected'.

Just cable charging.

How to solve this?

are you using the original fast charging charger?
already 65% charged, the remaining charging time shouldn't more than 30 mins if fast charge.
full charge from 0 to 100 is about 1.15 hours only bro.
check your charger 1st.

I already tried everything but in the end whatever i do i still got 5 & 1/2 hrs SOT average, no matter what i do, i will get that SOT at the end of the day. One thing i notice tho is that note5 does not have good standby time, i notice our note5 battery perform their best when we use them regularly, the more hours u spend on it in 1 day, the more SOT u will get, the lesser time u spend on the phone, u will end up getting 5 hrs SOT maybe less depending on your standby time. This is from my observation la. laugh.gif

TLDR; the more frequent u use your phone in a day, the higher SOT u will get. nod.gif

To me note5 got the best battery life among all phones ive ever used. No matter how heavy my usage is, it still can last me till end of the day, it differs from my 6 plus previously where the standby time is really superb whenever im not using the phone, but when i use it, battery drain significantly faster than my note5. thumbup.gif

And the best thing about note5 is the fast charging, just 1 hour can get back to 100% battery life. Go makan dinner with family, take shower etc, before bedtime can get full battery life already. thumbup.gif
