if i were to enter this, I'd put the SL near with the pivot limiting my risk first but the upsize might be capped due to the lost souls from the previous peaks, which possibly render some kfcs only hmm.gif

anyone wants to share some insights?

One just has to dig out their research papers, paper trade them and see how much they gain/lose according to the buy/sell calls. laugh.gif

QUOTE(wayton @ Jul 30 2021, 03:47 PM)
Bursa normalising is quick as it relies on everyday volume transacted, so the impact on earning is immediate.

Glove price has yet to normalise back to pre-covid level, and some may under previous order or contract signed, so impact on earning won't as fast.
Plus, pandemic situation is worsen in Asia, and still provide some support to glove price out there.
Most glove share price are heading the normalising direction with a bit slow pace due to pandemic situation.

Harta share price is getting normalise nearer to pre-covid level.
*
one more thing, China. although many said that china wont be a threat to the local glove makers, but, is that confidence or optimism? we shall see in the next few years.

those sure don't understand the Chinese businessman mindset.... or perhaps because of vested interest, they refuse to acknowledge the risk possibility....
having said that, given the Delta, if one were to speculate and bet that perhaps Delta could see a new resurgence in appetite in glove stocks, then perhaps I can understand the why in such a bet..... but to hold it long term like an investment, that's just pure blind optimism.
G? .... bloody hell.....  doh.gif    (peeped... and I am not convinced despite the blowout numbers tongue.gif)

Ah... Unisem is not too bad.....
*
G is pushed by the extreme optimism towards EV which the valuation goes way beyond. biggrin.gif One small bad news from any EV makers will burst the balloon. cool2.gif

but it's super impressive ehh brows.gif

the whole semicon is doing good it seems, rf, ate, cleaning, etc, again, because of china.

stocks wise, strong base for some, reversal for some, macam boleh eh laugh.gif

EV reality will set in when big boys like mercedes, BMW, Toyota, VW, etc move ev from ancillary to main stream.
*
the good thing is EVs will most likely rule the roads in the future, another 10 or 20 years then autonomous cars will take over

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Aug 2 2021, 08:04 AM)
Hahaha!!!
You're good already. Post more but don't you trade more. tongue.gif
Me can play wif me spideys more. tongue.gif

hahaha, didn't really do anything, wasn't really convinced that G has that much of potential too but boy I was wrong laugh.gif

the limited demography of bursa makes tech counters much more premium than the counterparts in other markets, if one uses PE as the yardstick, misses out a lot eh.

sidenote,

UWC macam slowly climb out d, who bought a lot of UWC last time yeah? their business is quite interesting, medical and lifescience help them a lot

UWC? Thanks to the introduction from ChAOoz, it was a really good stock for me last year.

And yeah, we had a recent discussion on this thread on UWZ. After its last reported quarterlies, the stock appeared to me to be at an inflection point...
Didn't like the setup I was seeing at all back then then...
and yeah... was watching it built up strength since then...

now with other tech stocks such us MPI and Unisem reporting great set of numbers...
yeah, logically this one would gather speculation interest of a good set of earnings.
G? Things like that I would never ever bet on...
history of being a money losing machine... and all out of a sudden churn out millions and millions in profit... nah.... I shall give it a pass la.
*
Oh ya, it's Chaozz. Did see you guys mentioning about them.

Anyhow, it's hunting season now. Tech stocks are posting good qrs and let's see whether I can replicate the earlier win in the first qtr.

Still playing spider ah? biggrin.gif

If buying based on cup and handle pattern, at which stage is safer to punt? At the handle or above the hander?
*
above the handle as a signal of confirmation, but the chance of it breaking higher ground is the same as going south and form another contraction, or terus dive. laugh.gif

Basically you still need the surge of volume to comfirm the uptrend.. Hmm

some follow strictly to the textbook definition of cup and handle, while some allow variation of saucer and even a tajam one laugh.gif

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Aug 3 2021, 01:39 PM)
C&H is one of the harder chart patterns to trade....

It's deemed to be error prone and failure happens very often because...

1. The pattern just fails....

2. Ppl see what they want to see, hence many times ppl think it's a C&H but in reality it isn't....

( * in a bullish market ie when the punting sentiment is strong, anyhow pattern that smells like a cup... a good rally still can happen just cos a sinkarlan sifu simply sell the idea it's a c&h to its blind faithful supporters/followers .... yup any how can call c&h la, this la, that la... all also can fly. LOL!  * )

3. Buying too early..... ppl speculate that a certain pattern, for example a C&h will form, so they kiasi kiasu, they whack in early.... and then of course, the pattern doesn't form.....
and most of all... if one wants to trade in patterns, they need to have an extremely good discipline in cutting loss. Failure to do so, would see yet another accidental investment.......
*
yeah, during my paper trading time this kind of setup fails me the most puke.gif

when one studies the charts and the companies. one tends to like the stocks and expect it goes like what one thinks puke.gif

unless one trades like machine, or else really gg

or find one really really good setup which suits our personality, still finding though laugh.gif

I'm coming into conclusion whether a successful C&H pattern or not still pretty much depending on company fundamental

If the fundamental of the company is good, buying at the handle is also a good move, however there comes the possibility of value trap

but what if the dividend is there, and the dividend is sustainable?
*
used to think that divi is an important part of choosing a company but not anymore,

without real earnings and potential in the future, dividends aren't sustainable to even compensate the time spent in one stock,

hence, rendering a value trap

fundamental wise, it really depends on the perception of the public, ie, institutions and retailers

user posted image

mentioned before slightly, a relatively young company with clean background but aerosol paint,

i'm not that sure about the potential of churning out impressive numbers albeit venturing into healthcare sector

one might enter the trade because of the double bottom, a breakout happen but it fell back down,

with the split coming soon, judging from the history of most stocks after bonus, it might break down the trendline?

i also dont know, still learning laugh.gif

any helps?

maybe in longer time it can break ath? laugh.gif

will counters like qes or aemulus suit the big meat eater? the risk is there though especially with the overall sentiment
