This year will the 30th anniversary of the greatest bull in msia. The super bull of 1993. There's no need conduct any analysis. Any stock will turn to gold. Punters are having a great time with 2nd board counters. And this is where they get fried if they are not careful by insiders.
For Bursa to have a mania such as in 1993; certain pre-conditions must exist, namely the country have experienced few years of high growth, all market participants had a feel good factor in them. That they had enjoyed certain years of prosperity and confident in on the direction of the economy. unfortunately, nowadays is different. Those punting for quick gains in gloves and meteoric rise in certain penny stocks reminds me of 1993 and it's manic behaviour. Speculating can be downright exciting which leads to greed and eventual loses for the unwary stock prospector. |

Punters are having a great time with 2nd board counters. And this is where they get fried if they are not careful by insiders. According to boomers; For Bursa to have a mania such as in 1993; certain pre-conditions must exist, namely the country have experienced few years of high growth, all market participants had a feel good factor in them. That they had enjoyed certain years of prosperity and confident in on the direction of the economy. unfortunately, nowadays is different. Speculating can be downright exciting which leads to greed and eventual loses for the unwary stock prospector. During that period, any news touched prc, Dr m, gold finger or any rumour was reason for price to spike. Every other da ma and da shu were more expert than professional. Retailers made a few thousand in the morning session and have sharkfin for lunch was common. Most bought on contra, money was free and god given. At one period, klse daily volume was bigger than nyse. When the tide changed at 1997 afc; some lost 8 digits sum, some lost what they had traded for >30 years in klse, etc. Almost all punters return to their former self and worse off. For reasons, why most of this group didn't join glove rally in 2020/21. The more story one learned from boomers, would trade at bursa with caution. Bursa is a known croc pond for reasons. QUOTE(MasterConfucion @ May 4 2023, 10:05 AM) With intensified deposit competition and higher cost of funds, the Bank anticipates that net interestmargin (NIM) will potentially remain flat or contract (page 33 of IAR2022). What is the management guidance for NIM in FY2023? As the central bank is expected to raise OPR back to the pre-pandemic level, how significantly can the potential rate hike cushion the impact of high funding costs on NIM? We anticipate potential NIM compression of between 5 bps and 8 bps for FY2023 given the increased deposit competition, seen mainly in Malaysia. In a rising interest rate cycle, cost of funding will increase in tandem with the rate hike and in some instances, it will exceed the rate hike given intensified deposit competition among banks as experienced currently in Malaysia. Meanwhile, the ability to reprice assets upward is limited and confined to the quantum of the rate hike. Thus, the basis for our guidance of NIM compression in 2023.
