Opr go up, asset go down.🤔

But some bank perform badly when compared to each other in term of share price like public bank vs Maybank. Just look at how outdated public bank from their physical branch and website 🙄

Go research the few major shareholder how much their holding cost. Many speculate they want to dispose slightly above their cost.

Why choose to invest this rubbish company lol. So politically driven and the founder offload mostly their shares right? Best just hit and run dude.

OPR up, by right profit should be up right? Anyone notice before Covid, promo FD all above 4, some ~4.5%, but with out OPR going up, I'm not seeing any special promo as attractive as preCovid. I do notice in general, stocks with higher foreign holdings seem to drop substantially.

Opr up, bond down, ppl holding stock switch risk free asset like bond? Hmm...
Profit for bank not as directly to OPR up as well, have to take account of the increase NPL etc.

Fed rate goes up, foreign investment has less reason to come bursa and malaysia. Unless bnm can keep up with fed. Despite all of these, political and economic point of view are quite bleak also for this country.

Malaysia is not one of the worst, but it is currently the WORST performing market in the world based on YTD % performance.

Every country in the world recovered significantly after bottoming in October 2022.

Malaysia is one of the few countries in the world (apart from Sri Lanka and other countries with high default risk) where its stock market dropped below the October 2022 bottom. This country is so screwed

Cause it's math and probability. The probability of a consistent performer failing to perform after one bad season is lower than a mediocre player with one major outstanding season.

I believe in regression to the mean, or as they say in wallstreet long run market is a weighing scale.

Why not just do a simple test by putting 10k each in TG & Maybank at today closing price, and you just close your account and check back 5 years later. To see which generate the better return inclusive of growth and dividend.

Anyway another important point when investing in growth company, it's what we call total addressable market size. Apple is a good example of this. Apple is consider a growth stock, cause it has a HUGE market, almost everyone uses a smartphone and uses watches, app etcs. Their market is very big, is just a matter at how good they are capturing the market and execution.

Whereas not everyone uses gloves. No matter how much glove may grow during pandemic, the growth will hit a LIMIT CAP. Unless you say top glove pivot its business into other area like tyres, condom etc to capture more growth.

Also on seasonality, one season is trading. I never say it's a bad to trade glove counters. With the volume and volatility, its actually a pretty good trade. Between down and up, there is easily 30- 50% difference.

Investing is thinking of buying the business and partaking on a share of it's future profit. So i say no no to glove investment.

Throw back Sept 16 2020, if we have put 10k each into Maybank and TG during that time stamp. Who would have come out on top in terms of returns ?

In the end, market is still a weighing scale, and regression to mean is still the rule and most companies are no exception.
