Guys, is it possible to complete 10 trips in 3 hours?

I asked because there a trip which supposed to be 13-14 but ended up cash collected became 1.30MYR. Rider still pay me the fare shown on his phone.

last week i received a ping from a lady staying in Maisson, Ara damansara. I saw her rating was 4.0 before picking up her ping. i was thinking, maybe the rider isn't that bad and i took the ping. I reached the guard house and called her to tell her that i'm in coming in to her block. when i reached the block, she wasn't there. I waited for 4 minutes and she still didn't come down. than shortly she called me and screwed me for not calling her again when i reach her block. i screwed her back that she should come down when i first called her that i've arrived at the guard house. she wasn't happy and slammed the phone. i waited another 2 minutes and after seeing that it's already 6 minutes, i cancelled the ride and snag RM4 from her.

if she were to be courteous and quickly come down, i would've waited for her and pick her up.

never messed around with a uber driver that has waited more than 5 minutes.

by the way, i received an email from uber to ask me to put in my credit card / debit card in the driver app within 2 weeks. I will not do so and if they want to block me, they can go ahead. As a driver, i cannot choose whether the ride is cash trip or card trip. if it is cash trip, i cannot also control if the rider plays dirty and not to pay full. since i'm not given a choice, i won't fulfill their request of giving my credit card number.

On top of that, this RM0.99 promo sucks.... most of the time i drive 4-5km to pick up a 1-3km ride. so this increases the picking up distance and time for the driver to only get short trips. For example, it is better to drive 5km to pick up a 20km ride. but with the RM0.99 promo, to do the same 20km, u might need to drive a total of 15km to pick up to earn 20km of ride from 5 riders.

Here, share my last weeks statement with you guys in case there's any of you wondering how much you can get if you do Uber full time.

This is average 12 hours per day.

Tuesday I had something on so only drove till after lunch.

Saturday I had an airport trip in the morning, sent a friend off Uber.

Sunday I took it easy, had long lunch and stopped driving before dinner time.

There's no secret to it, long trip short trip what also drive and drive with a happy heart.

Bro, good for you, but, personally I got nothing against you, but my utmost respect as one of the senior, long time Uber driver. But, allow me to further clarify, as I got to acknowledge your earning is rather impresive, and many will definitely tempted to drive full time, or convert to full time looking at your earning.

Ignoring human fatigue and stuff, one of the things that many people had overlook is their car maintainance. Or, the way they calculate, based on per km basis, which I do not agree entirely. Car maintance does not mean just changing filter, change engine oil, change tyres and all that. I guess due to the reason Uber only allow car not more than 7 years, and majority of drivers I meet driving also max 2 years old car, they yet to feel the pain yet. Coz, the older the car, more problem will encounter, things will fall apart, in fact everything and anything can break and need to be change. These are the cost that many had been ignoring (including myself last time )

Reason also, many of us, unless you are ex-taxi drivers, chances are never drive to earn living, thus, our car mainly for go office/ back offices or during weekend run errands, shoppings, etc, which the milage will be definitely much lower compare driving Uber, thus, many of the cost I mentioned above, may not even experienced before, coz, you will be changing car already.

But, if you driving for Uber or Grab, or whatsover, you will clock in higher mileage, thus, accelerate the wear and tear. Example, say, on average, without Uber driving, you clock about 300km per week, to office/ home and some weekend jalan jalan. But, with Uber, you can easily hit this number in 1 day, imagine, what used to be 1 week travelling distance, you 1 day cover already. And, don't forget each and every part of car component need to be change once hit certain mileage. Say, some parts, only need to change when hit 100,000km or 150,000km, of even 200,000km but, if you usual driving, what frequency you hit the number? High chance you already sold off the car before then. Or, even if you hit that mileage, your car easily 7-10 years old, fully utilised, well worth jor. Driving Uber, daily 300km, you calculate lah, 100,000km how long it will arrived?

If you own car, you sure know the more mileage the car, the more expensive the repair, service and wear and tear. Else, why people buy 2nd hand car, not only look at years, but also mileage? Or, how you explain why nobody want to buy a 5 years old taxi that converted to car? This what last time a friendly taxi driver told me when he sold off his 5 years Wira taxi, he was offered only RM1k reason just because they want his NGV tank only

So, again, I reitterate again, I got nothing against you personally, but, I just want to paint a more balance picture about pro and con driving Uber. I am just speaking and sharing my 2cents experience, and if anyone read till here, thank you, and I hope my sharing of my Uber experience can assist you to decide to drive Uber as long term or full time or not .Yes, driving Uber or Grab is a good source of income, but, in long run, you will end up nothing, just breakeven if you lucky. It is suitable for those having challenge in life, life must goes on, and this is a good source of income to tide along, or for retiree or someone who has no concern about day to day living expenses, just to kill time and get to know new people, understand the society.

some riders think that uber drivers are personal driver who serve them.
i accepted a job from female rider. At first, she sent a wrong pick up point. once she detected i was arrived. then, she sms me to the correct pick up point. luckily not far from earlier one.  After i arrived the right point, i sms and notified her. Then she request me to give her 10 minutes for looking some documentation.

after waiting 5 minutes, i tell her Uber policy regarding start trip while waiting. at the end, she cancelled the ride.

however, too bad when comes to classy area. kena halau by guards and no extra space to us to park aside to wait this type of rider..and create traffic jam

A very simple way of looking at it is if you need money to tie over, even if you rent a car at RM500 per week (thus eliminating all the theories on car maintenance), plus petrol you can still make 4k plus a month. For some people, thats a lot of money.

Am just putting it out there to tell you the income you can achieve if you put in the hours and drive diligently, the cost is up to each individual to decide.

And she could be going on a long ass trip to Kajang or catching a flight or something.

For me, if it's at a pick up location where waiting is possible, just take it as an opportunity to rest a bit la. Stretch a bit, clean and tidy up the car a bit. You can always give the rider a lower rating if the wait is too long. And cancel it if really taking a long time, for me my threshold is 10 minutes, but I always give another courtesy call to ask what's the hold up about. But to always cancel and leave after 5 minutes, how much opportunity cost there just because of this pride and ego issue.

And technically, Uber has always been marketed as 'your personal driver'.

Yeah can't wait for this promo to be over.

Doesn't do anything at all besides encouraging all the cheapskate users.

And it dillutes the riders until the genuine riders get fed up of either waiting or because of the high surge.

I already told Uber that this promo doesn't really benefit anyone at all besides the cheapskate users.

I spoke to some Uber staff, and told them that this promotion affects their current normal Uber riders. Can't get car, cause have to fight with all the RM0.99 users, and when finally can get, surge is high cause demand high caused by all the RM0.99 riders as well.

And the funny thing is, they agreed it does.

More or less can guess wan la.

Pantai/Bangsar South going to Midvalley/LRT

University Malaysia back to hostel.

Sunway Subang area going to class or Pyramid.

I supposed these are hot spot RM0.99 areas.

Just enroll last week and after that my boss ask me to go overseas.....so only few trips.

Realise that waze gps does not indicate exact pick up location sometimes + need to call rider to confirm and look around

Pick up one rider to Sunway pyramid.....follow gps end up inside the mall  parking. Quickly get up the parking after drop customer using touch and go. No yet check whether already deduct parking or not

I'm Uber driver, yup I've been in that kind of situations. Some put pickup location wrongly, second some didn't put destination...They want to go there 7~Eleven buy reload....Third request multi stops...I said sorry here's my stop. If you want to go there you have to search for another driver...So fucked up this kind of customers last minute like that...

those rm 0.99 promo, below 4 km, with surge 1.7x

today pickup one rider, below 4 km, but waze bring me wrong location, make a u turn .. ended up rm18

how to handle this situation

If the rider give wrong pickup location,
can I start the Trip once at the wrong location, and then drive to the correct location ?

need confirmation, if driver cancelled a trip, the rider won't be charged right? I got a rider today, she was charged extra rm5. she asked why, i told her that she probably cancelled a trip previously. she said it was the driver who cancelled it.

Cannot off the phone because I have not dropped the first customer off.

Next rider ping came in before I dropped the first customer.

low acceptance rate will not affect the uber driver much?

Grabshare beta is hurting Uber. That's why I got a lot of long trips today. Rm270 in 10 hours spend another one hour back home for meal and last job.
