Another alternative, you guys for every trip you complete, there is time and distance right. And, you all have the formula right, i.e. RM0.95 upfront, RM0.60 per km, RM0.25 per min. Then, use it to kira kira your actual fare, less 25% or 20%, and compare the fare or cash you collected.

Then, you know lah, how much Uber had scammed you all, if any.....

Only if have time lah, coz when last time I drive (that time still no upfront payment), I checked one, found few times Uber short-changed me, after few round of emails, finally they pay me back....

But, it dammed tiring lah, imagine, average do about 10-15 trips, sometimes 20 trips for 12 hours, then, calculate each and every trip.

Of course lah.....even last time, before the upfront pricing, when they introduce cash payment option, Uber automatically appointed all drivers become debt collector on their behalf (without additional benefit or pay) ...so, if the rider got many hutang, many ffk request, the unfortunate driver who pick the fella up will have to collect all overdue for Uber behalf And, this is only risk #1

Risk #2, when u encounter some rider who will accuse you cheating them, (even last time, prior to this upfront fare), they will argue and fight say why the estimate fare is lower than actual fare, accusing you cheating them and then storm out from car (if lucky) or threaten to damage your car or whack you. Work hazard Then, when you write to Uber to complain, to get back at least what due or don't deduct it from your weekly payment, thier standard reply will be "Uber will not be responsible for the collection of fare and partner are expected to collect all fare that is due from rider at end of ride". Then, you follow up with few nasty email, they will pay you back, some more claim it just once off goodwill.

And now, due to increase in demand in cash ride, lesser card ride, Uber want to deduct from your credit card or seek your authorisation to auto deduct any amount owe to them (instead of deducting from card payment). This one, I have not encountered lah, coz I oledi stop driving that time jor. Previously, they threaten drivers to suspend their account (i.e. cannot go online) until they clear up all the outstanding, but, I guess many drivers just ignore them kua and that time lack of drivers. Now, not sure if they ever include in their new T&C or app for any new driver to sign up

My 2 cent of advice (just ignore if it doesn't agree, don't me. as you had experienced driving Uber, the multiple cheapskate riders who demand 6* service but can't afford or not willing to hire personal driver, treating Uber/ Grab driver worse than taxi, if you happen to take Uber/ Grab like me, do treat them with respect, be punctual, and if you can afford it, and generous enough, do give them some tips, even if rounding up to nearest ringgit. Else, just give them 5 star rating, unless they really terrible like taxi driver , do far, all my ride is and I usually give them some tips, and their surprise look of their face, it will make my day )

Someone labelled me as the most Uber badass driver, but, I think I should handover the title to you.....even wait after 5 min, still not cancel, wait driver arrived, and cancel, even though I never tried that before, but, I would imagine the face of riders, priceless

Malaysian riders are cheapskate, want cheap ride, so, uber/ grab give them cheap ride. After all, their business model is the more volume i.e. more request, the more they earn. Zero or minimum operating cost. In fact, more request, better visibility for them, free promotion

Today tried to upload my insurance (expired quite some time, never follow up ) into the system.....manatau, got reply say my partner apps got technical issue, ask me raise issue....

Raise mai raise lor.....and replied back, say I long time no online, ask me go to their office to reactivate back....I ask back nicely lor, can do it online or not, very leceh, go office, some more the office very rundown, with few plastic chair and fold table, no signage at all just a few piece of A4 paper stick on wall say Uber office, look like some illegal, run by night business, plus the staff there also look more like ah beng and mat rempit and kaki botol, not professional at all, even the driver more professional (disclaimer lah, this what I observe during last time when I register)..........say cannot....

Pissed off, told them off, just deactivate my account lah, better join your competitor, Grab, straight remove apps from my phone....

So, now, I officially stop driving Uber jor, no return...

btw, sign up from Grab, must stay active like Uber or not, or can choose when to drive, ikut suka hati one?

It's me last time, waited for 13 minutes, for a trip less than 5 min, 7km, when I review the fare, say whole trip only took 15 min, which mean I drove 7km within 2 min, even F1 driver also will lost out to me like that.....I wrote to Uber, after few rounds, can't remember if they pay me back or not, anyway, stop driving already....

Even removed from the system.....insurance expired, then, lazy to update, then, when I update, ask me go to their office, I ask them go fly kite lah......plus, at current RM2.30/l petrol, really charity drive......my rough rough calculation, last time drive full time, every alternate day got to pump petrol, that time I think RM1.70 or RM1.90, cannot remember, full tank about less than RM60-63. Average per day fare, I got about 100 plus minus, for about 8-10 hours drive, sometimes up to 12 hours, avoid morning rush. So, after deduct car maintainance, etc, got lah some little bit money, just to tide me over for difficult time.

Now, fixed fare, plus yesterday just pump petrol, full tank now RM80 jor, that one also yet empty (last time empty, got lights only pump), which mean every 2 day drive, I give 1 day income as petrol. Another 1 day is my "real" income, yet deduct car maintainance, etc.....even got free time also I won't drive.... straight rugi, plus more and more "unreasonable riders".....not worth it....

And, if what you said is true, they revised up the Uber fees, very fast will bungkus jor.....

How's about Grab now ah? Got any fare revision? If got, might consider drive part time, for fun

Answer to your question 4, mine is 20% cancellation, and still active (at that time, but, eventually, deactivated after in active for 1.5 months )

And, don't worry, they need u more than u need them, they are short of drivers (lots of drivers either jump to Grab or stop altogether), even u get suspended, just need to waste some time to go to their office to re-activate again.

U won't be banned unless u make some really grave issue, like u go molest your passenger, or u rob them, or u behave like rogue taxi drivers

Got, encountered twice before, one to Melaka, one to JB. I just politely told them, sorry, it cover Klang Valley only.....

But, of course, up to the driver to decide if they want to accept. Usually, the "unwritten rule", off the apps, estimate how much the fare (based on rider apps) add in the toll, multiply by 2 (for return trip, empty car_. Of course, any extra, u negotiate with the riders lah.
