I roughly compare a (approx) 4 km trip. Grab paid RM 8, while Uber paid RM 6.50 (this is before commission).
This is just a one case, so maybe another person can also verify this.

Also, do anyone thinking switching to Grab... I can say that the normal fare also is slightly higher than Uber. Even though Grab is flat fare but the distance rate is higher than Uber's. So, even though you will stuck in traffic 3 to 5 minutes, you will not lose out.

Usually, after 2 min of waiting, I will send 1 SMS. If no reply, then by 5 minutes, I will cancel.

I really hate driving Uber in JB. More than 50% of the riders are so rude. Damn!
At least, in KL, the rides are a little more polite. |

QUOTE(2feidei @ Sep 30 2016, 06:58 PM) Rider put wrong location then, when I tell I have arrived, shout at me because I went to wrong place. I tell them this is what is in the app, but then, they deny so hard. Say that I am wrong.Rider call me ask me how long I arrive. I say 7 minutes. Then say, that's too slow. Come faster (WTF, 7 minutes is what the Uber app states, so stupid cannot read. The Uber app already displays so clearly the ETA. So stupid some of the riders) I reached to pickup location, called rider, ask where are you. Said, "I already waiting somewhere else, I am already late!!" Like its my fault..... I speak simple English to them, nobody can understand. Apparently, Johorians can't understand English. WTF!! And, of course, my rating in JB is really low. QUOTE(lowya @ Oct 1 2016, 07:25 AM) many of you who are uber slave here never do customer service before, actually those nasty thingy clients expects are a norm for a 3rd world country like malaysia, mentality wise, you know what i mean, so get use to it, its a practical customer service crash course. Yeah, this is my first "customer service" job. And I am not a good talker also. This is definitely a learning experience, no doubt. i have to say to many customers out there, you are how you treat a stranger or your environment. |

QUOTE(T5AMC @ Oct 2 2016, 12:02 PM) Like this all uber drivers in JB would be suspended. Either Uber lessen the rating requirement in JB or loose the JB market. I don't think it's because of my rating. I once had 4.16 rating before, but no suspension. Must have been a rider that said something about me. I don't know what I did, also.QUOTE(fortunateSA @ Oct 2 2016, 12:04 PM) in JB, around 70. in KL, around 60.This post has been edited by GunBlaDeR: Oct 2 2016, 12:40 PM |

QUOTE(2feidei @ Oct 2 2016, 07:30 PM) Guys....another area to avoid if you don't like short trip....Seri Petaling area...will be plenty of request, part ot boost area too....but, 90% very short trip (less than 3km, between condo to shop). And what worst, you will also received request up to TPM, Kinara area...which technically still consider Seri Petaling, but, no boost in that area. And, if you accept request during peak hours (after office hours) good luck to you, jammed like hell......, not worth for boost of 1.3x Alright, thanks for the heads up. |

QUOTE(fortunateSA @ Oct 3 2016, 01:06 AM) On my way to getting suspended too, dropped to 4.47 in one week, not sure because of my appearance or what, luckily I was not convinced enough to buy a car just for uber, not driving anymore, made about rm400, depressed as f, i was studying then working in Sg, I quit the Sg job to do this, my study fund still needed, used to see uber as potential savior, things never work out for me, I always felt disadvantaged and miserable Your rating is still quite high. I think only dropped below 4, then you will get suspended. The reason I got suspended is not because of my rating. I suspect, one of my riders went and reported me to Uber I did something bad. This is only my theory. Yeah, don't buy a car just to do Uber/Grabcar. It will be a bad idea. Anyway, you can use Uber/Grabcar in the meantime, but also try to find a more stable part-time job (restaurant/shop assistant/etc) QUOTE(destiny6 @ Oct 3 2016, 01:38 AM) Well, for the last suspension, I just had to sign a form, then my account was reactivated instantly. Not sure about 2nd time suspension. And, really fuk Uber....they just willy nilly suspend me without any email at all. Like, Any shit a rider say, they automatically believe. |

QUOTE(frshrshd @ Oct 2 2016, 10:50 PM) Hi, I've been driving for Uber on and off for almost a month. Earlier this evening I was involved in an accident on my way to pick up a rider. My car got rammed on driver's side by a car that suddenly switched lanes. Was just wondering what are the actions that will be taken by Uber when it comes to this situation? Will I be compensated in any form? I don't think you will be compensated because, while you going to pick up the passenger, you were not on a Uber trip. So, technically, you were not "Ubering". But, please send an email to Uber just to make sure. Thank you Edited: Ok, maybe I am wrong. I was reading an article online that says Uber covers drivers after they have accepted trip request. So, perhaps, you might compensated after all. But, try to be assertive with Uber because they will try a lot of ways to not pay you. This post has been edited by GunBlaDeR: Oct 3 2016, 09:08 AM |

QUOTE(fortunateSA @ Oct 3 2016, 07:14 PM) riders not done rating yet, haven't done any trip since, dropped below incentive requirements, not worth doing anymore. Anyway, now Uber is not offering anymore incentive (apart from the 10% - 30% Boost promotion) also, right? So, ratings don't really matter that much. Also, maybe you can try out Grabcar. Might be better. Also, you mentioned you are a student, right? Then you should check out GrabHitch. It's like carpooling with you school mates, so at least you can save/earn a little money driving to and from school. This post has been edited by GunBlaDeR: Oct 3 2016, 07:26 PM |

QUOTE(2feidei @ Oct 6 2016, 09:19 PM) PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Good to know. So far, I have picked up a few from Damansara Perdana and the riders were ok. But Flora Damansara is fuked up. I kena one time. The road so bad, the rider also crazy la. Never want to go to that shit place, man.Noticed majority of rude (eg. keep calling you asking where are you, ask you to hurry up, give wrong address, ffk and/or cancel) and does not pay full fare, i.e. self-round down the sen, riders are concentrated on Damansara Perdana area. Therefore, any drivers want to pick up in the area, please exercise extreme patience and high sense of humour when decide to received ping request from this area. If you are high blood pressure person, please refrain from accepting pickup from these area Sorry for all Damansara Perdana riders, I do not wish to generalised, I still believe there are still good riders there ( I had vouched for that), but, I feel that the bad one also equally a lot. Just like taxi, there are some good and bad , but, bad one overtaken the good one, thus I feel publicly obliged to inform all drivers intend to camp or pick up riders there Another area you guys want to avoid, Flora Damansara if you don't want pick up foreigners (i.e. Bangala, Nigerian, Indonesian, etc).....again, I wish to reiterate that, so far, I have no issue with them, although sometimes I feel bit uncomfortable, and 99% if got roadblock, sure ask to stop and come down one. |

QUOTE(amad108 @ Oct 7 2016, 06:51 AM) owh.. ok, thanks bro.. Erm, regarding places to avoid, perhaps Flora Damansara. The roads are really bad, like...reallly bad.is there anything i need to know? like place to avoid and all? read at few first pages mention few places that quite hassle to deal with the rider.. If you put tissue box for the passenger, check once in a while if got tissue left behind. It has happen to me a few times, rider use tissue and then just throw on the car floor. Now, I don't put any tissue box anymore. Try to avoid driving aimlessly, just to get a rider/ping. You will just waste petrol. After drop off rider and still no ping yet, just wait where you are (if it safe to wait). Or if you are in remote place or a place you don't like, then you can drive towards another area. Try to bring a book or something, it can be really boring waiting for a request. |
