as I afraid I wont get accurate reimbursement from uber.
*
You will get accurate reimbursement from uber (The one good thing about Uber - automatic toll recognition). 90% of the time, the toll fare is correctly added to the final total. But, for the 10%, you check and it's wrong, don't worry. You just press "A toll fare was not processed", Then you write the toll amount and the name of the toll. They will give you within a few hours.

Sometimes, they will give you some hiccups also, but, seldom lah...I kena before.....claim the route you take no pass thru toll lah, etc....but, of course I use the toll records from Touch N Go statement to proof my claim lah, end up still pay me. But, after few round of email lah.... bangwall.gif and our Touch N Go records, sometimes, up to 48 hours only reflected in the statements, never immediate  mad.gif

I want to ask.... do any of you put Uber/Grab in your resume?

I am currently looking for full-time job. I have been doing Uber/Grab for the past few months. So, my resume has a gap.....The employer will definitely be suspicious of the gap...

Just want to ask your opinions. smile.gif

Let me ask you this question...how does driving Uber/ Grab experience help you in your job that you applying for?  laugh.gif  Unless you applying for driver, taxi driver, best leave it lah....until they asked, you only tell lah, frankly, you drive Uber just because you want the money, or maybe you feedup with your previous job, kena conned with nice Uber/ Grab marketing feel-good strategy, earn a lot, relax, flexible, etc...correct?  whistling.gif
*
I driver Uber/Grab because I got laid off from my previous job .... sad.gif . Honestly, I was never 'conned' into thinking Uber/Grab would allow me to get more money. To me, Uber/Grab is just something I do, so that I have money to eat, pay my bills and my rent.... sweat.gif

I have been out of work for almost a year, but the first 6 months, i was on/off travelling. So that I have reason. But from June to now....haha.....

And I understand what you said. But I was thinking of putting this in my resume because, even though Uber/Grab is not related to my field, at least I am resourceful and hard-working to find money and stay afloat. At least I am not just sitting at home, doing nothing, applying for jobs. A part-time job is still better than not doing anything, in my opinion.

On the hand, Uber/Grab is still a little controversial, so that makes me reluctant of putting it in my resume. What if the employer is Uber/Grab hater or something, right?

Sorry for being frank, I believe you are no longer fresh grad anymore, you have experienced, and, as you said, you drive Uber/ Grab because of environment force you into, you need money to stay afloat.....which is basically, every human will do......unless you are those born with silver spoon, no need to work, can continue leech fama, or family have plenty of assets to last you life time.....therefore, rightfully, I don't think it necessary to put in resume, your resume is what to attract the hiring manager why they should call you up for interview, to know you better, i.e. consise and short....imagine have hundreds or even thousands or resume, and someone putting long and irrelevent experience there...this will bit turn off

I am speaking from both hiring perspective (prior me driving Uber, actually I am in same situation like you), I had encountered candidates putting in what "ahli kelab memasak", "perserta what tarian dunno what Citrawarna, etc"....I was, wtf? I am hiring office executive, how does this skills apply to the job? I'm not hiring chef or dancer.....or some even put in their hobby in their resume....hello.....what your personal interest will affect my decision to hire you nor doesn't concern me lah.....I may ask during interview, as ice-breaker session, put you at ease...what I care is do you have the skills to meet the demand of the job or not. Then, if yes, when I meet you, i.e. call you for interview, I will test you if you got the attitude for the job, can you fit into the company culture, and if I skeptical of what you wrote in your CV, I might test you, asking you technical question during interview also

And, of course, when I go interview, I get to asked, since you out of job so long, what did you do? Then, only I tell them, I do Uber/ Grab, to help me stay afloat, and slowly I link how the experience had help me to build a better person lah, example like what you said, you are resourceful and hardworking  biggrin.gif ....you know, typical bullshit question lah......
*
Haha, thanks for being frank la.. You made a good point. I agree. nod.gif

haha I see. thx for the info
another thing if its cash payment and total is like 6.53 or 11.51,
how much do you as a uber driver actually should or would charge?
If me like today was 8.19 but i told rider 8bucks total :$
so just wondering how you guys charge?
*
I will tell rider $8.20. Some rider will give RM9, some will pay exact RM8.20. For people who give RM9 or more, I will ask them, "Would you like the change?". Some say yes, some say no.

So, what I do, always keep about three ringgit in coins, for this case. 20 cents is a lot of money. Don't throw away 20 cents. thumbup.gif

Yeah, happen to me too. Have to go the office. They will tell you "Improve your service". Then you sign a paper (to acknowledge that you have received a "warning"). Then, your account is activated again.

I got this two times. The 2nd time, I am so lazy to go to the office. Johorians suck. They simply give low rating, scold me, bla bla. shakehead.gif Now, my Uber JB account is 'wait-listed'

Today I did two trips which had surge pricing, 1.8 and 1.6 respectively. However, when I check back later, the fare did not include the surge pricing. The support@uber.com email does not work anymore. What can I do? rclxub.gif

at least let the driver know. the normal x surge. anyway, i had highlighted to uber. hopefully they will listen.
btw, all the time i am driving grab and switch to uber when got surge/better boost or balik rumah.. lol
*
Me too. I also highlighted this issue to Uber support. So confusing for us.

Haha...I also just use Uber for boost/surge (surge must be more than 1.4; if not, I won't accept). Now, if there is not boost/surge, it is so not worth it to do Uber. I do Grab instead whistling.gif

After driving Uber for few days. More and more problem appearing.

No.1 they make it so difficult to contact them. There dont even have email that I can send to enquire. They will tell you to use the in app Help and choose the  problem from the list.

No.2 missing tolls, I click in app for that trip, select Fare Review. CS replied agree to reimburse by end of weekly statement, yesterday I received the weekly statement but I dont see the reimbursements. Then I ask again why I never see the reimbursement in the weekly statement? They ask me to go back to the app and click on which trip, then fare review again. WTF?

Check to see if you have any 'Promotions' added to your statement. Once, this happen to me, then they added a RM2.00 promotion to my fare (to compensate for the toll).

No.3 Today Monday start of a new week, in the partners.uber.com webpage, partner earnings last week record has been totally removed. I cannot view the trip records anymore, in the phone app still can.

No.4 I got 2 cash trips I feel "cheated". And there is no way in the app I can submit my question, how did they calculated those trips? Pro Partners please explain if you know what is going on. I attached the two trips with cash payment. The cash fare collected and the fare for driver is different?
Yeah, I think this is the case la. Nothing much we can do....  unsure.gif

[attachmentid=8095379]
App show collect RM18.72. But fare show  RM16.22 less 25% = RM12.16. Why not RM18.72 less 25% = RM 14.04 ?  vmad.gif

Yeah, sometimes you collect more than the fare because the rider need to pay extra for previous ride (maybe he/she paid less for previous ride, so this time, they need to pay more. You are the collector).

[attachmentid=8095383]

Drove for 76min 23.4KM, collect cash fare RM31.51 but check later earning only RM26.11 less 25% = RM19.58. Uber app show collect RM31.51 but driver fare RM26.11 what is going on?  vmad.gif
The 5 ringgit extra is because last time, the rider cancelled the ride. So, now that rider is charge extra 5 ringgit. But your fare is 26.

this Uber really horrible.

So many missed out toll. I am not sure you guys checked your trips each time. I pity those that dont.
I just drove for 4 days and everyday I have missed out toll payment. Click fare dispute toll missed out, they reply by weekend will add back but last week nothing in my statement show "Others".

The 5 minute cancellation is so tricky. 5 minutes does not start from your acceptance of the trip. 5 minutes start when you arrived and click "Confirmed arrived". The timer start from there and if the rider cancel by the 4th minute, driver bodoh bodoh waiting there and cancellation pop out but thinking still can get compensation from Uber, then driver really naik kereta liao. Uber really B@$t@rD.
*
Yeah, always check if toll is processed. nod.gif Happen to me also.

Normally, I won't start driving before 2-3 minutes have passed. Then, only start driving. I know its not a foolproof plan, but in my experience, many rider like to cancel within the first 3 minutes of booking. So, might as well wait first.

I usually drive on weekends and after work..if the fare around rm7 or rm8++, the riders will usually ask me to keep the change ^^

Got one time i sent a Jap guy to the airport, it was raining and so damn jam and his flight was at 7.30pm. Waze estimated 7pm to arrive! Fare was rm90 and he gave me rm150...keep the change he said tongue.gif

maybe this is the perks of being a lady uber driver?

oh one more thing i wanna rant here...sometimes when we drive cannot whatsapp right. so one time i didnt reply my bf and he got so worried...when i called him back, i kena scolded kao kao....so i'm currently banned from driving uber sad.gif

uber is a joke. driver waited at wrong place, cancelled and i got charged RM5. driver that cannot see map properly become rider's fault.
*
Your pickup address is wrong? Did you confirm your pickup address OR did you just let the app pick for you? You do know, right....that GPS location is not 100% accurate? If you are indoors or there is an obstacle in the way, the map will put in a wrong location. doh.gif

I found Grab rider app is very difficult to setup correction location compare to Uber,
I need to zoom in very big in map only it will Load the correct road.
Is it just me or really their app behave that way?
*
Yeah, the Grab app is really badly design. The Uber app is so smooth.

In the uber app, you can type or move the pin seamlessly. In the grab app, the fuking developer hides the pin behind a really small menu icon. How the hell are people going to know that they can move the pin to another location?! So, many grab riders location is wrong.
