1. First you can't compare Ipoh with Penang/KL, even you compare local jobs pay with PG/KL also different what.
2. The demand for Ipoh is somewhat average, majority is KL/PG/Singaporean and Foreign tourists. Where most Ipoh peeps are either:
a) don't know the concept of Uber (smartphone user but)
b) own a car, why not drive myself they think (might as well lar)
c) know but don't know how to use, so they stick with local taxi (think taxi are better which actually not)
d) afraid of using online payment like the staff told earlier
e) afraid of security, they think we are bad guy (robbery)
f) don't use smartphone/apps (uncle/aunty)
3) Ipoh are running testing period, so no flat rate from KTM / Airport
4) Because of above facts, most potential drivers not willing to drive, end up I have more ride than most people.
5) Mostly short distance trips, you might expect as low as RM2.00 per trips.
6) Also, not only that, KL and not same as Ipoh, I don't have to wait at traffic and pay tolls. All are easy job.
7) And a lot of undertable deal, you get what I mean here. Not we request them, but rider request us and book our time.
8) due to certain time where the time is low demand, I can sit at home netflix and chill and the RM9 straight go into my pocket, of course the T&C are not as strict as in KL/PG, those so call acceptance rate or core area pick up are easily cover back the next day.
