If like that it's better to everytime ask rider to input back again his destination to avoid getting the upfront fare. Correct? Clever me...... cool2.gif
*
yes you are right. you can do that but sometimes calculative riders won't be too happy and they might give u a 1 star.

Thanks for the useful explanation!  smile.gif

But again really if different route and longer time taken, uber will not compensate at all  sad.gif

so can we just ignore all multiple stops, different route request since upfront fare was already planned from the start...? it sounds like the fare is fixed just work like grabcar
*
it's really hard to ignore the multiple stops. some riders will ask u to go nearby to pick up their friends.

For example, u pick this guy up from One Utama and he wants to go to Mid Valley and along the way to Mid Valley, he asked you to turn into Bangsar Village to pick up a friend to go to Mid Valley. Hard to say "no" though you need to do a slight detour and you are still passing by that area as you will be using Sprint highway and turn off towards Bangsar via the bangsar- PJ Underpass.

Working in the city centre.
Can I turn the app on after office hours to fetch the rush hour riders?
If I get stuck in jam at least I'm getting paid, right?
Plus über would need more cars around that time I suppose?
*
u get paid for the drive.

no, u don't get paid for the jam. if it's a RM6 ride, u still get RM6 whether your jam is 20 minutes or 40 minutes.

Okay just check the email. Wow good thing. Hopefully Grab follow suit because Malaysian will use Grab for airport trip RM65 vs RM75.
Only foreign tourists not aware of the cheaper rate will use Uber.
*
+1

last sunday i was at KLIA dropping off a rider at 5am. I waited for 1 hour till 6am and there isn't a single ping.

i checked the app and I saw tons of Uber drivers and Grab drivers camping at KLIA. I guess this drivers really wait it out for just a RM60 ride.

i left there after.

for that, nothing is better. because the trip and time is not worth it. you need to stuck in the jam again to get out to pick another rider. mathematically u lose out.

i mean for someone with a full time job that wanna take advantage of the rush hour incentives and start ubering from 5pm-9pm, isn't it good?
or just stick to weekends only?
*
it all depends on the boost and the distance.

if the boost is only 1.2X, than a 3km jam is not worth it. if the boost is above 1.8X, than the 3km jam is ok.

after work and if i want to go home and it is jam, i use destination setting for any boost below 1.5X. i prefer to go home rather than stuck in a jam for such a low boost.

for weekends or weekdays, it all depends on where you are. Areas with lotsa students will have short trips.

whats in a name? hotdog pretzel anyone?  laugh.gif

unless the mechanics of incentives and promotions are different  sad.gif
does it mean even with a low boost let's say 1.5x from KLCC and i'm staying at Puchong.
i set the destination to puchong then the system only gives me riders going that general direction?
*
the destination setting doesn't necessary bring u back to puchong to where the destination u have set.

Take your example of KLCC and set destination to Puchong: the journey from KLCC to puchong, you will need to pass by areas around Salak Selatan, Sungai Besi, taman desa, Old Klang Road, OUG and Bukit Jalil. alternative route, you will pass by Kerinchi, Bangsar, PJ, Sunway or Subang. Therefore you will drop riders from KLCC to around these areas that i mentioned. Unless u are very lucky, you will get riders directly to puchong though that seldom happens.

Once you set destination, u will not enjoy the boost payout. it will be the normal payout unless there is a surge in which u can enjoy.

Rider: Driver assigned for 10km (20 mins) to pick me up for 1km destination ride, its between driver & Uber, nothing to do with rider.

This part I agree and the culprit is Uber,

But rider also with 'you don't chibai' attitude coz I'm paying. This part I cannot agree!
*
uber reply will surely say that to ensure every rider gets a driver, they match those closest. even if the rider is far away, uber is committed to deliver at all cost.

yesterday i got a rider in Kota Damansara and I was at Ikea. it was raining heavily and badly jam up. I saw from Waze is about 15 minutes drive to the rider which is 3km away. i called the rider and said that i need 30 minutes because of the bad jam. he willingly cancelled the ride.... Fuh! save my trouble to go there and later find out it's a near distance ride.

Uber new system allow you to see rider's destination after a trip being cancelled.
Last time you won't even know. Hehe.

by that time, it's too late for the driver already.

Wrong....if you set destination, you won't entitle for boost. But, if it is surge, you entitled for it.
Actually true also what......Uber/ Grab is just another form of car hire like taxi.....what these people is that they are extremely low self-esteem, they need to look down on others whenever there is opportunities so that they can feel they are high class society  doh.gif

Why upset with these kind of low class, feel high class society ppl mentality? For me, they are just scum where they think they are star....my experienced driving Uber taught me a very valuable lesson, don't ever judge a book by it cover, sometimes, those banglas work in cafe/ restaurants, transvestites, etc riders or those ppl where others frown upon, they are more understanding about hardship and generous with tips
Can lah, last time can.....so long as the rider put their destination when request
*
bro, you got mistaken.... it was my reply that if the boost is below 1.5, i will let go of it and set destination to go home. i rather not earn the boost than to stuck in a jam.

Lel.....still don't understand why ppl like so much about airport trip. Let's talk number. You waited 1.5 hours only got pickup. Then, you earn RM60 (less RM20 Uber fee). Then, assume (not you lah), rush back empty car back to airport to camp, i give you fastest lah, without kena saman, 1 hour to airport, and waited another 1.5 hours for another pickup. All together, total hour is 1.5 hours+1 hour+1.5 hour= 4 hour for RM120. Say, you drive 12 hours, you earn RM360. Each hour, you earn RM30, but, each return trip, you pay average RM10. Worth it? I dunnolol  rclxub.gif
Got boost above 1.5 one ah?  laugh.gif Sorry lah, long time I no drive jor, I dunnolol.....last time boast also between 1.2-1.3
Tipu lah tu......later they will delete off your comment.  biggrin.gif
No, but, if no coverage, how to receive ping? Always data cannot sampai  laugh.gif
*
got boost above 1.5.... usually at certain areas, it will be about 1.6-1.8. rarely hit 2.0.

How do we know the rider payment method after we pick up the rider? Because I don't see anything that show rider is paying by card or cash?
*
make sure u collect the outstanding amount that is stated on the screen too.... uber is going to deduct from your credit card trips if u didn't collect.

TQ bro.
hmm..so far I have not encounter such situation. I click Dropoff & Collect Cash Payment, I collect the amount when the Uber app done calculating.
Question:

1. Has anyone encounter middle of the trip the phone crashed/rebooted/hang ?  sweat.gif
Yes it happens and even if you off and reboot your phone, the trip will still continue... no worries.... i faced before when my phone battery died and my charging cable didn't work. after i go home, i charge the phone. the trip ended and self-calculated.

2. Twice I use NPE highway paid PJS2 and Pantai toll, after dropoff I checked the trip fare, Uber only add 1 toll. I have to request Fare Review to add the missed out toll. Anyone face this problem?  hmm.gif
yes. that happens when the GPS fails to detect your location. u will need to request uber to add in the toll manually. always ask them to check the gps route that you took. sometimes the gps shows a straight line route whereby u cut through the rivers and buildings and not following the road. that time will be tricky to argue on the toll and mileage you took.

The Uber Partner apps trying to con again  mad.gif  doh.gif

Got announcement now say, fare will be automatically calculated 2 min after driver arrive. But, then, with the fixed pricing, how the waiting time will be incorporated in the waiting time??? You think all Malaysia driver are idiotic is it?

As usual, tag UberMY, but, don't expect them any reply.....paging AskarPerang to tweet them and screenshot here  biggrin.gif tenkiu, AskarPerang
*
when i arrive, i sms and after 5 minutes i call. still didn't come down after 3 minutes, i cancel and collect RM4 (RM1 goes to Uber).

Total 8 minutes very gracious ady lor....

i experience many riders especially those in condos will only come down once u reach their lobby and call them. worst, when they request uber, they didn't state the block and need to call them when reach the guard house. than u tell them that u are already at the guard house, they still didn't come down. when reach the lobby must sms again. sometimes also didn't come down yet and need to call and only say on the way down. at times got to waste so much credit to sms and call for a short ride.

nowadays i just cancel even though i already sms and call them but still not down yet. some got the cheek to call me back and ask me where am i and why i cancel. i terus taruh balik that i waited almost 10 minutes.

some got the cheek so say will come down in 2mins, i'll reply " u got 30secs before i cancel the ride'  rclxs0.gif ...then i'll cancel and stay there again  laugh.gif

i don't understand. it means when u accept the ping, u immediately swipe confirm arrive even though you are still on your way there?
