i have a question. how can i be uber driver but using my father car?

Guys, one question, im getting charged rm25 (5 weeks x rm 5) for background check. Is this normal? Im pretty new.

Nilai is out of Uber coverage (if I remember correctly). Thus, he got rights to reject the ride.  whatever top up or arrangement, it between u and the driver.

My weekend experience.

1. An African couple pinged me to pick-up from One World Hotel, BU. I arrived at the lobby and called them. The man answered saying he will be down soon. I said" soon but cut short of asking how long", he ended the cal abruptly. So waited for about 10 min, they came down with bags.

After putting their bags in the boot, they both got into my car and sat on the back seat. The lady said "drive fast"

My pressure went up immediately as she said drive fast. Politely I started to advise that our roads are bound by speed limits and I have to adhere these rules so I cant drive fast. This got her annoyed and started mumbling at the back. Her boyfriend who was on the phone the minute he got in later  tried to calm the situation down and said please drive as fast as possible.   

Without uttering further, I just drove normally and dropped them off at their destination. There was no any expression of courtesy when they left.

2. I was at Jln Nagasari when I received a call from  a rider (Caucasian lady) asking to pick-up from Jln Changkat. It was a busy Saturday night with heavy traffic. So I drove through the back lane to avoid the traffic. While on my way she called me and said you were 1 min away just now and now you are 5 min away and asked "are you coming. I said" I am stucked in the jam and on the way. I explained to her that  I tried avoiding the traffic in order to get to her fast and in the queue now heading towards her. She sounded drunk and started to accuse me of lying and went on bitching and ended the call. Five minuted later she called again continued her abusive language on me. She said" I am fucking lying again" I told her she can cancel me if she cant wait which she did after a couple of minutes.

To avoid getting another request from her I went offline and moved along the jammed street. A few minutes later she saw my car from far and started confirming from her phone if I were her Uber driver.  As i neared her she came to my passing car and knocked my door window but by then I have locked all my doors. I just waved at her indicating that  I not interested and drove pass.

Moral of the story here is be polite, patient and be respectful. When riders get bossy or abusive or have a perception of master and slave mentality it get my blood boiling.

This is part and parcel of driving Uber, sometimes, I would rather sacrifice my acceptance rate, do not accept ride request when I notice the request come from those "high probability" area where I suspected the rider is not civil.

But, I got to respect you willing to wait for 10 min, I would usually cancel off the trip after 5 min, earning RM5 (gross) from cancelling the ride, which sometime not bad if the ride distance is near.

Is it? Actually, how do we determine the area is out of Uber KL coverage? During the briefing, was told up to Rawang. But, any specific measurement, i.e. how many km from city center, etc?

Even I use uber website to estimate, I can even estimate fare from KL to Penang

agree with this. rider got the right to sit behind, unless you requested him/her not to, but you being ignored.

as long as rider cooperate, 5* is not something we should be stingy about.

Imagine having 4 of them in the car. And Persona the floor is higher for the middle seat

For me, once i press confirm, I'll check how many minutes it takes to the destination via Waze and Uber app,  and then 5 minutes before sampai, I'll call the rider and ask them where to pick up, at the lobby or guard house?

Then I'll say, "I am just nearby, give me 5-6 minutes to reach at your location". It works most of the time  whereby the riders will show up around 1-2 minutes.

So the payment has been made to my bank account and i still doesnt get any PHG !! Damn uber waste my time![attachmentid=6851215]

agreed. but asking rider "tinggal sorang ke?", "single lagi?", and texting rider after trip was completed and totally unrelated to the trip? that, is what i meant by "being too friendly"

its ok if you still didnt get the massage, already the taxi driver is one of the worse job in malaysia, but u chose the worse then taxi kind.

Mine is either they    (drunk), eating strong smelled food such as McD, and leave all the wrapping in the car (sometimes ice cream also). Why just they take along their rubbish when they exit, instead of left it in the car? Sometimes, I manage to take notice, just throw away before next ride, but, sometimes, I didn't, only realised end of day, and dunno how many low star rating I got from there
