Hi there, due to mco thinking of getting this lg c9.

Currently on 60 sharp ua6800. Would getting a 65 c9 be a good upgrade
*
They will be a huge upgrade. OLED picture quality is no way a normal LED LCD can fight with, especially on HDR film.

QUOTE(madballs @ Apr 12 2020, 12:54 AM)
U try warm2 for a week. It will grow on you and when u switch back to warm1 you will feel its bluish by then.

Warm2 should be easier to your eye than warm1 too. Shouldnt be the other way around. Same as your smart phone when u set it to eye conform mode. It will turn yellowish as it doesn't strain your eye too much
*
I never ever can accept Warm2, any TV I not accept, not in my phone, tablet, PC monitor as well.

I had try to use for around 1 month before in my previous TV, my PC monitor as well and those time I keep feeling dizzy, eye wet and etc. symptom.
It immediate go after I switch back to Warm1.

As for this LG C9, I decide to try again and I had try around 2 days and similar not comfortable issue popping back.

Too warmer color is strain my eyes actually and I feel sick if looking too long to it.
I feel my eye like crying when look at Warm2 color or those mobile with blue light filter on or some call it eye conform mode.
I feel vomiting if people use those blue light filter on their phone, I will immediate request turn off if they ask me check their phone.
Same case I will tune people PC monitor before I work with it.

Similar symptom will occurred also if the screen using cool color.

In summary, I feel not well if the screen is too yellowish (warm2) or too blueish (cool).
You may not believe me but this is fact I face.

No any issue if I look at Standard color or Warm1 color.

I am sticking to Warm1 forever and ever. Haha!

You might want to check on optometrist. You might be sensetive to certain light color. Its not common but I have mates who have this issue
*
Sorry I don't like warm2 colour.

Thanks for the advice, I am sticking to warm1. smile.gif

If you cannot/don't know how to calibrate, the best thing to do is just to use settings that are most pleasing to you. Subjectively speaking, there isn't much wrong with using warm1.
*

Exactly. Isn't wrong using warm1. smile.gif

QUOTE(madballs @ Apr 12 2020, 02:15 PM)
No worries. I Apologize if it sounds offensive to you, but I have mates that will have nausea, eye strain and headache on certain light level or color. Glasses help them.

Cheers
*
No offensive, I never like warm2. This is choice preferences.

https://www.lg.com/my/oled-tvs

Seems like the product page for the latest CX models are up. However, I don't see the 48" CX variant in the page, does that mean Malaysia won't have the 48" variant?

Was planning to get the 48" as my TV/PC monitor, 55" is too huge.

Surprisingly there's a 48" LG CX on SG's website; https://www.lg.com/sg/oled-tvs

Come on LG, I hope it's just an oversight and they will have 48" variant available
*
It seems LG Malaysia didn't bring in the 48" variant.

I have asked them , they are unsure as of this moment . Perhaps they are waiting for the sales of CX and GX first and waiting to release the 48" along with BX .
In fact , the 48 " CX was originally scheduled to be released a couple of months after the launch of  55" , 65" and 77" CX .
They are not available in both US and UK atm as well .
*
I think they should release, seems a lot interesting. biggrin.gif

I wanna ask, is anyone being bothered by judder issue on c9? I saw when panning if i focus on something then will be blur and cannot see. I saw got oled motion pro function which is BFI but will reduce brightness by 50%.. and i saw reddit ppl saying if use trumotion dejudder then will introduce artifact.
*
Use custom and put de-judder as 2. This is just nice and no soup opera effect.

I use de-judder 2 and de-blur 10.

Planning to get a used LG C6 for about RM5.5k. Bought in 2017 and rarely used since the seller travels mostly for work. Is it a good deal? Anything that i need to be aware of?

I'm not worried about burn in if there is no burn in from the previous usage. My usage will mainly be movies and TV shows. No network TV channels where they may have a constant panel that may cause IR / Burn in.
*
How many inch? 55" ? This is kind of old model, around 4 to 5 years already. I don't think it worth that price. If not wrong, C6 is still easier to get burn-in due to no mechanism to protect it that time. If 55" C9 now only cost RM 7k to 8k. Additional 1.5k to 2.5k which is worth to expense in my opinion.

QUOTE(Shinka @ May 10 2020, 06:29 PM)
When buying OLED tvs, is it worth it to get the extended warranty? (For example from Harvey Norman).

Normally how long do OLED Tvs last in general (with normal use, say 3 hours average everyday)? As the extended warranty can be quite pricey.
*
During I purchase from Harvey Norman, both seller from different branch suggest me not worth if you warranty for the burn-in only as burn-in normally won't happen even within extended warranty period. Another issue is one branch said cover, another said not cover the burn-in, so cover or not by Harvey Norman cannot very sure.

65". Will there be burn in even if i just watch movies and TV shows that doesn't show any logo / static image?
*
65" will be freaking cheap but sorry I can't recommended or not recommended as this model is quite old.
Beside burn-in, you need to think about life span as well. How you know the seller seldom use, unless you very know that person.
He/She can said seldom use but in-fact heavy use and you also dunno.

Now already on the way out CX (C10) and this is C6, it is gaps of 3 ~ 4 generations.

Why does it says this? IPS LED Super Bright Panel

Yet somewhere else on the page, it says OLED
*
Lazada or Shopee or any online shop is common give wrong information.

You need to ask the seller why instead here as no one can answer you.

Is there any way to ensure that the OLED TV you receive is an actual new and unused set? And not the showroom display unit set.
*
I think someone here said before, check the total power on time. This part is not resettable by shop itself.

I am coming from Plasma and I have never liked LED.
*
LED and OLED is two huge different thing.

OLED anytime wins any part of Plasma. This is not the case for LED.

Simplified
  • LED, QLED, Mini-LED all is LCD with LED backlight.
  • OLED, MicroLED is real LED and not a LCD and no any backlight required as the display is self-illuminate.

Hey guys! Just bought a 55" LG C9 and I'm absolutely loving it. I have some questions tho.

3) When switching between apps (eg. Netflix to Youtube etc), the volume can be quite inconsistent. Any idea how to fix this?

*
Nope, this is common, YouTube is the one not consistent in volume, it is far louder than others apps.

This is happening to all device I have.
- LG C9
- Panasonic EX600
- Apple TV 4K
- MiBox S
- Panasonic UB400 UltraHD Blu-ray

What about the 65"?
*
I think 55" that price is quite reasonable. I buy RM 6,997 at Harvey Norman on Feb, 2020.
