after extensive research on reddits, AVforum & youtubes, I think 48" OLED TV is doable in my small study room.

just that i need to ensure my desk's depth is 60cm or larger, so that i can push the tv back further touching the wall. this hopefully will gives me at least 1.5 meter / 5 feet from the screen.

since this is first time i will venture in OLED technology, if just playing PS5 Pro only say ~2 hours for 3 days per week, when will i expect the burn in to happen in the future ya?
i play mostly RPG games like Demon Soul, some FPS games & action games.

LG only offers 2 years burn in warranty? If let say i buy at Senheng, can i extend the warranty to 5 years?
*
So far burn-in issue is very minor i think, only things you need aware probably is dead pixels sweat.gif

My C1 & CX both have multi dead pixel (by the time i noticed) after roughly 2 years+
Mostly developed on top edge in my cases.
Using case wise, it's nearly unnoticeable unless you super ocd.

Both now replaced new panel using final year warranty (2+1) and hopefully can last another 3 years.

LG 2 years factory warranty
Senheng Plus 1 member ship 1 year

You can top up another 2 years (I didn't last time) for a total maximum 5 years (2+1+2)

I just got the 48" delivered today at home. Ordered yesterday at Senheng outlet in Jitra.

RM3,999 (2 years LG warranty) + RM509 2 years warranty extension (Senheng) + RM24 delivery + RM150 processing fee for CIMB cc 24 month EPP - RM151 Senheng accumulated points = RM4,531

My PS5 Pro never looked so damn good!  cool2.gif
You guys can share which settings I should turn on or off for starters?

one thing about warranty extension, Senheng sales rep told me they longer extend warranty period for LG OLED tvs more than 2 years as the cost to repair or replace deemed unsustainable for them anymore LEL.
but when i inquired the same tv at Suria Jerai electrical shop at Alor Star, they dare to give extension 3 years instead of Senheng max 2 years. But of course, the price was a bit expensive than Senheng's.
*
I believe it's the Plus one member +1 warranty free normally and there's this extension (paid) for 2 years
So normal case will be 2 + 1 + 2 which equals to 5 years max

But last year i heard from my sales man saying that Senheng no longer provide that Plus one member 1 year free for TV series.
Hence become your situation of 2 years Factory + 2 years Paid

For TV setting, can refer to Youtube - HDTV Vincent's guide

Hi, I have a 48inch LG OLED A1 under 2+3 extended warranty from Desa Home since July 2022. Recently noticed the dead pixels around the edges.. Anyone had any experience with the extended warranty from Desa Home?

EDIT:
All the notorious news about burn-in but these dead pixels around the edges is the real issue after much digging..

Was planning to invest in the C series in my next purchase. Now I am having second thoughts..
*
Not sure about Desa Home warranty but in my case, Senheng has this extended warranty "repair coverage" based on your purchase price.

My CX purchase price RM13,999 (the amount based on before discounted) and i request to repair
The technician will come and inspect and send the report to the "insurance side"

Then they will check with current market price and compare panel repair price whichever suit their insurred range.

So my end result will be panel replacing and the cost was RM6k+ if i remembered.
The technician will wait for the replacement to arrive and come to fix.

Once everything done, my e-warranty amount of RM13,999 will be deducted with that RM6k + labor fee and brought forward until my warranty expired.

Unless bad thing happen again and i request warranty, then my repair balance will be RM7,xxx
If cost of repair exceed RM8k or more, the outstanding need to self pay.

Not much you can or should do if you don't have pro tools for calibration.

The standard things to do are:

1) Setup the system-level HDR for HGiG to be compliant with your TV's peak luminence (I think C4 is generally around ~750 nits for 48"), check HDTVTest on how to do this.

2) Enable ALLM and Filmmaker mode for the best out-of-the-box color accuracy for your games.

3) White balance/color temperature = Warm 50 (this usually tracks the closest to D65 white point)

4) Make sure color range (aka color spectrum) is set to LIMITED on PS5 Pro and LIMITED on the C4.

5) If you're playing in a very dark room, you can set gamma on the C4 to 2.4 or BT.1886, otherwise 2.2 should be the default.

6) Use BOOST for game optimizer mode to reduce input latency as much as possible.

7) Ensure your HDMI mode for the input where your PS5 Pro is connected to is on Game Console icon, NOT anything else. This is important for VRR to function properly, otherwise you may get screen "bonks" where the TV tries and always handshake with the console for a signal.
*
For no.7 if set to console icon, the HGIG can activate?
Cause for my CX and C1 have to be PC icon then only the HGIG will be available (else it is grey-out)

Not sure C2 onward any update.

My CX had no red standby light and finally failed to turn on last month due to power board failure. Called LG and replaced with new power board for RM810 + Rm150 service charge.

Same thing happened to my friend's unit last year also.

Ouch ...how long been using d?

Just want to give some info on my C9 65", CX 65", C1 48"

My CX 65" is strange one. The power adaptor has failed twice. Once under warranty and second time is recently and it cost Rm680 to change. The TV cannot be turned on (red dot at the bottom of TV) doesnt light on. There are dead pixels especially at corners and top/bottom. But it wont bother viewing experience.

C9 65". Nothing bad except dead pixels like CX.
*
What about ur C1 48" ?

both my CX 65" & C1 48" changed panel (multiple dead pixel top edge but not affecting viewing experience) before warranty habis.

C1 48" ending this year June.

My C1 clocked 3394 hours. Im using it as pc monitor. Surprisingly, only a few dead pixels. I guess newer panel better?
*
Mine bought in 2022 April somewhere but top there developed dead pixel like more than 10+ which i only noticed around 2024?

Am not sure which panel right now i have after replaced but actually the technician can just leave my old panel without "throwing" away sweat.gif
Can put it as back up for next time ...

My LG CX old panel now in my store room, lolz ...

Yesterday went Harvey and saw both LG OLED & Samsung QD-OLED side by side show case there. (Quite sometime i went into store to windows shopping)

Cant recall what model for Samsung dy but the non-glossy (matte) surface kinda feels weird when watching from front or side.

I feel like the black/dark scene doesn't have the inky black feel and kinda wash out if compare to LG OLED

Saw the rebate promo for this round kinda big for G5 65"

G5 65" = RM2,800 TNG
C5 65" = Rm1,000 TNG

If using RRP (other outlet can get more discount) like this, G5 is better option

G5 65" @ RM14,999 - 2,800 = 12,199
C5 65" @ RM13,599 - 1,000 = 12,599

Senheng i saw has this 15% coin back on C5 (65") but G5 (65") not listed

My LG CX 65 decided to die on me this morning. It won’t power on, and there’s no red standby light either. I tested the power cable with a voltage tester and confirmed that electricity is flowing, so the issue seems to be internal. I’m hoping it’s just the PSU, or at worst, the motherboard.

Has anyone dealt with out-of-warranty repairs with LG? Any idea what the typical cost is for replacing the PSU or motherboard? Appreciate any insights, thanks!
*
How long is your TV aging since used till current status ?
Wanna take note cause I'm also LG CX 65 user right now and like 4 years usage from May 2021

QUOTE(mois @ Jul 21 2025, 04:53 PM)
Rm650+ for the PSU. I already replaced twice. First time under warranty. Second time self pay. Same model CX 65"
*
So your PSU dead during warranty period ? I assume that's like first 3 years ?

Once under warranty. Another time just few months ago self pay.

65CX seem to suffer such problem. I have no problem with 65" C9 and 48" C1
*
So far my 65CX & 48C1 only change panel once each unit which is manually requested by me before warranty expired - dead pixels at top edge.

Both right now out of warranty sweat.gif

Price increase so much from previous gen...

My sister just inform me can get C5 below 10k... still so expensive... Samsung/Sony QD on sale also can get this price.
*
I still will get LG no matter how, hmm

Sony's lineup too messy with so many Numeric now and not all hdmi port is max spec
Samsung OS kinda dislike and not so user friendly and they give up products like very fast after 2 years cycle and will no longer see any OS update.

QUOTE(Xaphier @ Aug 6 2025, 08:36 AM)
Missed this message. My TV was about 4 years old when the issue occurred. I had the Power Supply Unit replaced, which cost around RM605, including RM250 for labour.

If it happens again, I might consider replacing it myself. I watched the technician do it, and the process seemed fairly straightforward. The hardest part was actually just moving the TV onto a flat surface.
*
So u find LG support to get the RM605 + RM250 to fix after warranty ends?
If occur again, will you find LG just to get the parts? or find 3rd party

To request panel change under warranty, how much of  dead pixels is considered valid? After checking, I have a few dead pixels along the edge as well, including the power down issue every few minutes. Can't really use the tv anymore. Is your warranty LG or external?
*
Mine more than 10 at least?
But the technician just take a "black screen" TV photo and report to LG.

Mine is free external by Senheng

Just to update, my issue wasn't the mainboard at all. It's the panel. Apparently the panel is burnt (can be seen at the bottom right corner) causing the shutdown, glitching and artefacts as well as several dead pixels. That's what the LG technician told me. Now just need to wait for HN update.
*
Wow.. so does it has burnt smell when you use it?

Pray HN gives you credit then change to latest model rclxm9.gif
