Oh both had to go thru issues yeah, guess they are almost guaranteed to fail less than five years. My C7 lasted just above 2 years before heavy burn-in (kids used it a lot during MCO). Learned my lesson and went with extended warranty. Should get the news from HN on whether they still have a CX panel replacement this week.
*
Actually just dead pixels accumulating at top edges there.
Then also warranty ending soon, so try to "change" before it ends

Was hopping to get credit and buy new TV but Senheng no no

Got the answer from HN. They are replacing with an equivalent value TV since the parts aren't available. That is the LG B5. Hopefully I can at least topup for the C5.
*
Good biggrin.gif

At least everything is new like firmware, panel, motherboard to 2025.
but B series since 2024 these days actually perform better than CX - C3
Even the HDMI 2.1 port now goes up from 2x to 4x as well as 48Gbps

C5 capable of 144hz and slight better image quality.
But if price not big gap, still can go C5

1) Next thing is to add another warranty extension for your new units
2) Then go to https://www.lg.com/my/promotions/lg-energy-...ing-promo-2025/ to claim TNG e-wallet
3) Also extend the warranty from here : https://www.lg.com/my/promotions/lg-extende...rranty-program/

Sad that i get panel replacement T__T and expired warranty already.

Oh didn't know B series have been stepping up. Yeah regarding the current promo, C5 has an instant 1k rebate and TNG e-wallet, which makes it a worthwhile upgrade, if available.
Definitely will get the extended warranty option again. Though, now with the promo, LG warranty will be 3 years now, if I'm not mistaken, right? Hmm...

Didn't really check but i know those store like Harvey Norman & Senheng no long has extended max as per my last visit queries

Last time i know is Factory 2 years + authorised seller 3 years
Then become Factory 2 years + authroised seller 2 years (minus 1 from those insurance)

Don't forget to claim any related current promotion also.
Not sure Harvey has any or not but LG must claim that TNG

Sure. I needed to add RM900 (current instant 1k rebate) for the C5 and around RM1.3k for the extended 3 years warranty (2+3)

Warranty allowed for a B5 only based on value or what I purchased the CX in 2021. I asked if I can upgrade and they allowed me to.

The C5 is a new purchase. The warranty is valid until a claim is made. Once a claim has been processed, the warranty agreement is considered void.
*
First two years won't void eh cause that's under LG factory warranty
the +3 onward only activated after factory warranty ended and once claimed under HN then consider void.

My LG 48" C1 bought in 2022 already kaput after almost 3 years. Horizontal white lines coming up permanently. A bit disappointed with the longevity of these panels compared to my 14 y.o. Panasonic plasma.

No doubt the picture quality of OLED is undeniable but maybe not suitable for my use case as my TVs are on practically 20 hours daily.

Now trying TCL mini-LED which you need to sit directly in front to see good picture and colour quality.
*
no more warranty for your C1 during kaput ?

Oh ... not sure about this. Last year I checked got 5900+ hours. I guess > 12,000 hours since my TV is on consistently on a daily basis (2 years 6 months)
No. I naively thought LG panels would last the same as my Panasonic Plasma. So, just LG original warranty of 2 years.

I asked LG for a quotation and after sending them photos of the screen problem, they said need to replace panel which will cost me RM3,900++. So, I said forget it.
*
Ouch sweat.gif rather get a new one + extended warranty

Yeah I can vouch for LG OLED tvs after 3 different models. I think the only thing I don't like about LG is WebOS. Its a bit sluggish. And I thought its because my CX was 4 years old. C5 is also sluggish LOL.
*
I just use my Apple TV 4K (3rd generation; 2022) lol...

I too have an CX. I have never physically pull the plug except when away for weeks.

However, I did have to get the motherboard replaced.

QUOTE(bem69 @ Nov 17 2025, 02:28 PM)
Ahh okay, so I guess its a common occurence. I guess at times I forgot to pull the plug when going on a week's holiday.
*
I only turn off the main plug without pulling it out when out of holiday
But my setup: TV is plugged into Belkin Surge Protector extension > Wall main plug

Both my CX & C1 only change Panel once due to top edge dead pixel accumulating before warranty ends.

QUOTE(TongCN @ Apr 15 2024, 02:27 PM)
So weekend - saturday the technicians came (not LG official, they are sub-con) so they not sure what panel is it as they are informed to exchange the panel only.

The new panel was manufactured on 24 January 2024 (old one 17 Dec 2020)
New panel info show AC650AQL BQA1_CS5 which i have no idea what panel it is  sweat.gif
While old one is LE650AQD(EN)(A1)

It is also "MADE IN KOREA" while my old panel shows "MADE IN VIETNAM"

The technicians after replaced and see can turn on then wanna fast fast cabut without doing any single test run.
I did tell them wait me check first then they remain a while.
They also didn't really clip back properly my back cover leaving a small hollow there and say it's ok  ranting.gif

After checking the panel showing ok and no burn-in, dmg, dead pixel.
Only then i let them go  doh.gif

ADDON:
Asking Microsoft Co-pilot and give me these results, lol
