Iva to me looks to be the biggest concern. Guus has shown a ruthless streak with oscar, pedro, and matic. He MUST throw down the gauntlet with ivanovic and reinstate azpi there.

What the heck happened to baba rahman? sweat.gif
*
Ivanovic anak emas abramovich probably. Iinm, he already sign new contract. That's how much the club love him.

Baba case same with salah imo. Not many oppurtunity to show his worth. Will end up on loan next season.

Guus Hiddink says he is very happy with the spirit, attitude and ambition of the team today.

Guus calls the first half tactical and says the speed went up in the second half

Guus admits the last-minute equaliser was scored from an offside position although John Terry did well to put it
into the net.

Guus says he is not happy with the goals conceded and it was difficult to come back from 2-0 down against a clever side

Guus reports that Diego Costa is in hospital having a painful shin injury assessed. He hopes the injury isn't too bad.

Guus emphasises that Everton are one of the smartest teams in the Premier League and make it hard to play against them.

Sigh, what can I say mate. These things happen, it's football. No point to rage about it, on to the next match. 11th is such a pointless position to be in.

I think the reluctance to use Baba is his lack of defence capabilities. A pushover sometimes against PL players.
Getting a fullback would be great, either left or right, so that Zouma can concentrate on CB position and goals conceded will be less

Looking at the table and our shitty form. I doubt we can even finish in top 10.

Every single team we face this season gets a chance at beating us. Bournemouth, everton, southampton, newcastle, palace.

These are all the teams we should be beating. Its fucking frustating to see we lose to bournemouth and next week bournemouth lose to sunderland. And when palace win against sunderland we lose against sunderland (im talking about examples not really a fact here. But this is what is happening)

Its a total bullshit from the players and the managers. Sacking mourinho only lifted up their mood and spirit but still they play like shit.

I dont even know which are the teams that we can best. Even aston villa is dangerous against us.

Just what the fuck chelsea. What the fuck

I was thinking, Guus gonna head to his first defeat & Everton attacks are brillant at times.

Maybe the best when JT scored, a few kicks later and we can hear "Blue is the colour" resonating in the stadium. Just an inch to defeat, glad our legend stole a win from Everton and redeem back an own goal (which isn't his fault totally, the kick is strong and JT parried it and it went in anyway)..?

Close to defeat hmm.gif
Worse if they declare JT goal offside which is rather obvious, maybe the referee is on our side laugh.gif

The cross was too good, if JT didn't block, Lukaku was behind him. He got it with his right foot, but went deflected on his left foot and went in. Nothing he could have done.

Nobody is saying that performance like this supporters not going to root for the team. But it is disappointing.

From iva to matic to oscar. Our defense is really terrible and our midfield cant defense or attack properly. Pedro's contribution is a joke. Hazard is a joke.

That's why im saying top 10 is out of our reach.

this squad needs rebuilding. I think Mou was on route to rebuilding, but the results are too bad, board have to sack him. JT is not getting younger, Iva is a weakness on our right. Matic's form is terrible. Oscar is on off on off. Pedro not suited to PL. Falcao is a joke.

Let's see who will come in. I prefer Ancelotti or Simeone. But seems like Ancelotti is heading to Bayern? Atletico Madrid is getting transfer ban, so Simeone might be available. brows.gif

i think both you and me were on the same boat last time, looking for the axe to fall on mourinho. while i can understand the disappointment on your side, i've found some joy with the way the team is playing currently under hiddink.

last time under JM, we were really a relegation-threaten team. we can't score goal and we were conceding goals like there were nobody assigned to play as defenders. now??? SOME of the player seems to be getting to their best form. our attacking play is actually miles better than what we can muster before new year. the desire is there. just that the execution need to be sharpen. this is for me is already a good sign, considering how bad the team has gone through all these while.

i've been reading it is now quite impossible to be top 4. being in top 10 is already a blessing. well.. i thought last time some people in here are alright seeing the team being relegated to the championship. why the sudden change of mind? for me, this season is long gone. what is left for us is to salvage some pride, some bragging rights. next we are up against high-fling arsenal. i'd take any kind of win against them just for the sake of bragging.

i am also in agreement to recall back christensen. but... hiddink is the one to decide on this. my gut feeling is telling me this is not going to happen. unless iva involve in an accident tomorrow and died. sad to say, but that is one of some few things that need to happen to prevent him from playing again. yep.. i am being bad.

i think both you and me were on the same boat last time, looking for the axe to fall on mourinho. while i can understand the disappointment on your side, i've found some joy with the way the team is playing currently under hiddink.

last time under JM, we were really a relegation-threaten team. we can't score goal and we were conceding goals like there were nobody assigned to play as defenders. now??? SOME of the player seems to be getting to their best form. our attacking play is actually miles better than what we can muster before new year. the desire is there. just that the execution need to be sharpen. this is for me is already a good sign, considering how bad the team has gone through all these while.

i am also in agreement to recall back christensen. but... hiddink is the one to decide on this. my gut feeling is telling me this is not going to happen. unless iva involve in an accident tomorrow and died. sad to say, but that is one of some few things that need to happen to prevent him from playing again. yep.. i am being bad.

I'm with you on this. Hiddink has definitely managed to fix our attack to a certain degree as can be seen from all the goals scored from open play.

There is definitely a positive vibe when we move the ball forward, and the shots on target / chances created are proof of that. Unfortunately, the defense still remains particularly 'broken' and a lot of this is down to ivanovic. To be fair he's improved slightly, but players with pace just eat him for breakfast these days. if he's not playing the opposition onside,he's letting them get in crosses. I understand your frustration bro. He only has a future here if Guus suddenly decides to pair him with zouma or something.

Still can't quite understand why baba isn't involved at least occasionally but I guess the boss doesn't rate him either?that's a lot of wasted dosh for a mere squad member sweat.gif

We go to arsenal next, with costa sidelined. Haih. At least remy will be raring to go,he looked very lively when he came on.

That puzzled me as well. One of the reason might be because Iva add a potential height during defense and attacking set piece. And on another hand, baba does seem a bit shaky while defending. Maybe not yet accustomed to the PL?

One of the potential solution to Iva's added height is that, Hiddink can replace him with Azpi, Baba playing on the right. To counter for the loss of height, RLC perhaps can play at Oscar's place. Oscar being out of sort lately.. So, why not?

from his limited performance so far, he does seem shaky at times when up against physical play in EPL. maybe thats why, i think, managers and coaches think he not ready for EPL. maybe against UCL games or FA Cup games he'll get more chances.

Guus Hiddink pushing for new contract for Chelsea captain John Terry
QUOTE
"If I'm asked I will give my honest opinion about his contract. If I say what I'm saying now, spontaneously out of my heart, then you can imagine what I think. But I fully agree on his importance, not just with Saturday's equalising goal but with his attitude and the actions he did defensively and offensively."

"His commitment in capitals - in capitals - is huge for this team and this club. He's also progressing Kurt. I saw him [Zouma] from a distance previously and sometimes he was a little bit out of position but he's progressed very fast in the last year alongside Terry."

"We need those kind of players but John is also doing his job defensively very well. With his age and experience, John is much more of a leader. Kurt is a very young player and not the type of leader John is yet."

"For me there's not much difference between John in 2009 and now. You would have to underline that with data. You have to make tests that show he has lost some speed but with the eye I cannot see that. He's fit, he trains well and takes care of himself, which you have to do at that age. I cannot see that he is slowing down at all. He needs six more games to have played 700 for Chelsea and I think he will make that."

I understand the frustration with Iva's performance and Baba not playing, but wishing a player to be involved in an accident and die. That is just too low.

Last season epl champion?
I think the credit goes to Jose,
Jose pushed them to the limit and did the mission impossible
*
yup.... Jose did made some of the average players looks like world class...

Last season, JT and Cahill - world class CB pairing. least amount of goals let in. Iva - best RB in BPL. Dave - best LB in BPL... Cortouis - world class, second only to De Gea's crazy performance.
Hazard - world class
Matic - absolutely world class
Cesc - assist for you, you and you
Costa - seems like the missing piece in the jigsaw puzzle

This season, everyone went to shitzzz..... if u look at PES Collection game (android or IOS) those 5 star players in Chelsea squad last season are now 4 star... that's how terrible they are...

and defending is still shit....

I think we owe the Evertonians an apology... the equalizer by JT was offside. we are sorry to take away two points from you guys.

dun nid to be sorry. As a player, u play until u hear a whistle, no whistle then u continue playing, either its a goal scoring chance or goal line clearance. Just continue playing until u hear a whistle from the referee. If JT stop playing, we would have got 0 points from the game. tongue.gif

btw u also play PES Collection? Didn't know that. rclxms.gif Diego Costa's SS from Speedster + Volley has been downgraded to level C Unstoppable Header. sweat.gif

Yeah... 4 star is really give face... even some players retain their 5 star status which to me is not really relevant... Like Hazard is still consider a 5 star player....

Well, if there are no big names coming because we are not in UCL next season, then will it be good news for our academy? Can we be more like Arsenal where they produce quality youngsters that can be sold for big money? I doubt Roman wants that kind of buildup... Roman would rather splash the cash for the right players....

hard to say. he was happy when RLC scored that goal during FA Cup game. i think he would be more than happy to see his investments in the academy come to fruition. We've won everything since Roman took over, so hopefully this next decade he will have more patience.

I also hope we buy high profile players IF we need to and rely on youngsters to come up next season. we are literally sitting on a diamond mine of youth players. just need to dig them up to the first team and polish and shine them. but we need to solve our managerial problem first after Hiddink leaves.

The problem is when Roman wants quick fix, manager that comes in won't rely on youth too much... BPL is such an unforgiving league for youngsters.... you really need backing from the board to play them regularly... I think Hiddink should be bolder in fielding youngsters since his stay is until the end of the season... nothing to lose... unlike Mou and previous manager.... result talks.... now that top 4 spot is gone, I think better test some of the youngsters.... RLC seems ready and so is Kenedy... but how ready are the other youngsters? Bamford being recall back early but I don't see him making the senior team.... sigh...

yep, i agree. although still mathematically possible, but its too far away. might as well throw some youth into battle. ake and solanke and a few other still out on loan, so can leave them there to develop. Bamford i think will be sent out on loan again... but who knows? maybe Hiddink will keep him, since Falcao cannot send back to Monaco and most probably won't play for the rest of the season. on top of that, we not reinforcing in our striker department.

but for now so far so good. get to see Kenedy and RLC playing more. hopefully next season they stick to the first team and recall ake Christensen and maybe Kalas to play as well

for JM i dont think its quick fix anymore... he had his chances and made it champion last season... he need to recover his winning form this season thats why hes sticking to his trusted line up, which back fired.

I more or less content that we

Chelsea willing to let Traore go
Chelsea are ready to offload Bertrand Traore to Everton. The Sun claims the reigning Premier League champions are willing to let the midfielder join Roberto Martinez's men on loan.
However, it is understood the Toffees will need to pay the 20-year-old's wages, thought to be around £40,000-a-week, in full.

Ramires for Gundogan
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea's defensive midfielder Ramires.
Spanish outlet Fichajes claims Dortmund will attempt to sign the Brazil international, who is apparently unsettled at Stamford Bridge, this January.

The 28-year-old has been frozen out by new boss Guus Hiddink, with the Dutchman preferring John Obi Mikel in the heart of midfield.
It is even understood Ilkay Gundogan, who has been linked with Liverpool, could be used a spart of the deal.

Arsenal are understood to be eyeing up a transfer bid for Chelsea’s young defender Ola Aina.

Whispers coming out of the Emirates Stadium suggest the club see the 19-year-old as a replacement for Mathieu Debuchy, who is set to leave the club this month.

Aina would be available on a free transfer at the end of the season after refusing a new deal at Chelsea.

Reports claim that Aina was booted back to the Chelsea under-21’s after refusing the new deal

Pep managerial style doesn't suit our club... even JM can't get everything that he wanted... dun think Pep gonna be treated any different.. Pep most likely to go to either one of the Manchester club...

the best bet is to get uncle Carlo back (we play beautiful football under Carlo Ancelotti)... but that is up to the board... the board controls everything...

and must get an old guard back as assistant coach... Drogba suits the bill.

Sign in to new house. Player number 95, tak orang hmm.gif

We need overhaul our team. Faster sell those who are inconsistent like Hazard. We need striker during this January window, but with Guus just being caretaker, I doubt he will bring in anyone. He can play youth players till end of this season, let us see especially our upcoming manager know which youth, young players very good and can adapt to PL football flex.gif

Exclusive - FIFA's Blatter is still being paid his salary despite ban from world soccer

FIFA's Sepp Blatter may have been banned for eight years from the game but he is still receiving his president's salary from world soccer's governing body, a spokesman for FIFA's Audit and Compliance Committee told Reuters on Monday.

Blatter was suspended for 90 days by FIFA on Oct 8 and then banned from the game for eight years last month for ethics violations over a $2 million payment FIFA made to European soccer boss Michel Platini with Blatter's approval in 201

Chelsea beat Manchester United to sign Ajax U-16 captain Juan Familia Castillo

Chelsea have beaten Manchester United to the signing of Ajax midfielder Juan Familia Castillo, despite the Red Devils being first movers to secure his signature. The Blues made a late swoop for the 16-year-old and are believed to have offered better terms to Ajax, which turned the tide in their favour.

The Daily Mail reports that Guus Hiddink's influence had a major part to play in the deal coupled with uncertainty in United's youth academy. Castillo is captain of the Dutch U-16 team and has been earmarked for an extremely bright future in the near future.

United had opened talks with the player in November which went on till December, but their inability to move fast scuppered the deal, as Chelsea completed the transfer. This is the second time this season that United have lost out to Chelsea, having gone down the same road with Barcelona winger Pedro last summer, who made a last minute move to Stamford Bridge despite interest from Old Trafford.

All these 'future investment' is to buy and sell to make money only... Since most of them not going to see first team action anyways

Or end up lose them on a free transfer

iinm Emenalo does the scouting and contribute the signing.
not sure about the loaning and the selling. works for some cases, but we do need more youth to shine through instead of just churning out talent for others

I dont care if hazard, costa, ramires, oscar want to leave. I hate to admit it but I admire our neighbour's ability to introduce young players every single time.

From walcott to ramsey to coquelin, bellerin.
When the base is made out from these young core players maybe then add up some big names.

Not only arsenal, even west ham has come up with good youth player.

Branislav Ivanovic agrees Chelsea contract extension - sources

QUOTE
Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has agreed to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge by one year, sources have told ESPN FC.
Ivanovic's existing contract was due to expire this summer and he was free to talk to overseas clubs this month.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Ivanovic has snubbed interest from AC Milan to sign a new one-year deal at Chelsea.
The 31-year-old was initially holding out for a longer deal from Chelsea, but the Serbian has come to a compromise to accept a 12-month extension, with Chelsea keen to stick their policy of only offering one-year deals to players aged 30 and above.
Ivanovic, who has made 22 appearances for the club this season, has been a mainstay in the Chelsea defence since joining the club from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2008.

News of Ivanovic's new deal is set to be confirmed later this week.

Not sure if I'm excited or not about this news, but Pato for 8-10m ? It's worth a punt, surely he cannot be as useless as Falcao. Knowing our luck with strikers though..... sweat.gif

Courtois is not commanding enough... Cech wants more game time... I dun think GK is our weakest area... if our defense is not that leaky, i think we can get clean sheet even with only Begovic on....

QUOTE(zoidx_chung @ Jan 20 2016, 11:25 AM)
The fact is, our defend is invisible this season
A stable gk definitely is needed
*
As long as it is not Mignolet. Cech, de Gea are gk favourites but Courtois is slightly better than Mignolet?

I think we need some beefing up instead of totally putting it on JT's shoulder, no harm to find more and groom young to replace our old guard. When we can absorb attacks, that's where counters can be made.

better save the money for Alex Teixeira in the summer. We are losing too much money - 23 million pound - especially when we are not entering cl next season.

we don't have a healthy third striker. So we should give chances to musonda, bamford or tammy abraham.

guess his price drops tremendously after his poor run of form. but if Hazard goes to PSG, I hope one of the youngster can fill his shoes rather than buying another big name...

Pato? really? Why are we buying those players who are pass their peak?

So far decent but nothing to shout about. I think he's not been used properly. Pedro is an out & out winger, in Barca/Spain he stays in the opposition half and is very attack minded. Now here he has to track back, cut inside and switch places with Willian/Oscar/Hazard etc throughout the game, so not really his style of play. Either that or his heart still at Barca, not 100% committed, i dont know sweat.gif sweat.gif

Well if you guys haven't noticed,we're pretty much out of the running for CL football, unless all the other teams above us have a collective brain fart and let us in laugh.gif . Therein lies the problem of attracting big name strikers at this point.

I do agree with the preference for utilising bamford though, but if he's good enough I'm pretty sure Guus will give him some minutes. Pato's probably coming in to ensure we have that third striking option,as falcao's probably written off at this point. He's also quick enough to play as a RWF,and who knows could even give willian a run for his money.

If you guys label him 'glass legs' for his recent season at Sao Paulo then that's way off the mark, as he was involved in a total of 59 games icon_idea.gif

Just off the top of my head:- Previous players who managed to shake off their glass legs reputation and established themselves in the league include

1. Roque Santa Cruz at blackburn

2.Demba Ba at west ham (before moving to newcastle)

3. Nistelrooy at utd

4. Bojan Krkic at stoke

4. (Hopefully) Pato at Chelsea!! tongue.gif

Yes I'm an optimist lol. Don't think you can 'survive'' being a chelsea fan in the last 15+ years if you're not.

I think most of the signing decisions is with Emelano. It was never a Mourinho problem. Papi, Baba, both oso Emelano's decision i think. Mou wanted someone else, Stones.

I can kinda understand the signings of Lavezzi. Coz Hiddink is in for the short term, he identified the problems that we have, we need strikers, so it means we need ready made strikers since Hiddink not in for the long term. Hiddink needs some immediate fix. So maybe that's why we signing experienced strikers. But still.... I think we shud've gone in for Charlie Austin. S'ton got a bargain signing him for only 4M!

best signing so far compared to cuadrado papi baba etc. him and Kenedy
but not really used to his strength, but is a workhorse. needs to improve on his composure in front of goals sometimes, maybe a confidence problem. for me, so far so good.

several clubs interested with Remy. Falcao seems to be going back to Monaco. Oscar as usual, love story with Juve. Hazard linked to Madrid coz Zidane is manyzer now.

I think Remy and Falcao will leave this month. Oscar maybe September. Hazard will depend on Madrid's appeal for lifting the transfer ban. hmm.gif

Falcao still hopeful to play for the club... Monaco doesn't want to recall him so early... so, I guess we are stuck with him...

here's to wishing that suddenly Falcao fit again, find his scoring touch again and starts scoring for fun... easily hit 3x goals for the rest of the season... and pull us to top 4... and we won UCL and regain a spot next year... Next season, the boss recall Mou back... sell those problematic players and let him run the show.

Arsenal grateful to have Petr Cech's gloves returned... after they were wrongly sent to Chelsea

Goalkeeper's former club were surprised to receive Cech's gloves for Sunday’s London derby from sportswear manufacturer Adidas

despite the fact he has been at the Emirates for over six months, it seems Adidas are yet to fully get their heads around the idea that Cech is now keeping clean sheets for Arsenal.
Chelsea officials were this week amused to find that Cech’s Adidas gloves were sent to their Cobham training ground, rather than going to Arsenal’s London Colney base.

The team that he is playing for Napoli is top of the league in Serie A. And also Higuain is top scorer too in Serie A. brows.gif

But then again, Serie A is a slow pace league, duno if Higuain will do well in PL anot. Good thing is Higuain has proven himself in 2 league dy, La Liga and Serie A.

Chelsea ready to sanction Patrick Bamford sale with buy-back option

The latest team linked with the 22-year-old is another Premier League club, Norwich City, who returned to the big time last season after a year in the Championship. So claims the Mirror.

The interesting bit here is that the Canaries are apparently not as keen on borrowing Bamfordinho as they are on buying him outright, and apparently Chelsea are willing to acquiesce as long as we get to insert a buy-back clause. Buy-back clauses are a hot topic suddenly*, but if Norwich do agree to such an arrangement, it makes perfect sense for Chelsea to agree as well. It's like a loan, but better!

No longer indispensable, midfielder 'has already decided' to leave Chelsea - report
QUOTE
With his confidence affected, Matic is understood to be finding it difficult to get himself back to his desired level and is considering whether a change of club is what his career needs.

Team-mates believe he has already decided to leave in the summer though much could yet depend on Chelsea's next managerial appointment.

Chelsea transfer news and rumours: Pedro set for exit; Alexandro Pato close to £7m move; Romelu Lukaku oversight

The latest transfer rumours and news to emerge from Stamford Bridge this morning
Samuel Stevens 16 hours ago

Spain winger Pedro wants to leave Chelsea in a last ditch attempt to rescue his career, after a torrid start to life in English football, according to the Daily Star. The 28-year-old signed from Barcelona last summer for £21m but has been unable to prevent a worrying slide in fortunes at the London club. He has scored just three goals in 24 games and was hauled off at half-time by interim boss Guus Hiddink after gifting West Bromwich Albion a goal in the 2-2 Premier League draw at Stamford Bridge last week.

The Dutchman, however, is believed to be keen on keeping Pedro on his books in the capital but the club's hierarchy, the report says, have other ideas. Valencia and Villarreal have shown an interest in the Spaniard in the past and may be tempted to try their luck this January if such rumours persist.

Chelsea are hopeful of completing a cut-price deal for Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato in the coming days, according to several reports this morning. The 26-year-old is expected to sign a three-year deal at Stamford Bridge after the Blues agreed a fee in the region of £7m with Corinthians. The Daily Mail suggest former AC Milan forward Pato is desperate to secure a return to European football - and is prepared to take a pay-cut in order to do so.

Hiddink has prioritised a new striker this January as Diego Costa struggles to find his form of old while Loic Remy is continually linked with a move away. Chelsea held talks with Pato's representatives and Corinthians on Tuesday night with Marina Granovskaia - club director and adviser to owner Roman Abramovich – said to be instrumental in negotiations. If the terms can be finalised, the deal should go through before the end of the week – possibly in time for the trip to Arsenal.

Blues target Saido Berahino remains in the dark about his West Bromwich Albion future amid further interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Stoke City. The 22-year-old allegedly wants to leave the Hawthorns but is facing an uphill battle to persuade the West Midlands club to allow it. Spurs appeared the favourites to sign Berahino last summer but a disagreement between the two chairmen scuppered the deal.

Newcastle, eying a striker to spearhead their relegation battle, now appear to have stolen a march on their rivals, but the Blues are monitoring the situation. The Baggies, according to the Daily Mirror, would prefer to do business with either Chelsea or Newcastle to avoid sending their prized asset to White Hart Lane. Despite the former England under-21s star having just 18 months left on his contract, West Brom are determined to remain in charge of the situation and have shown their willingness to turn down big-money offers in the past.

If Romelu Lukaku, linked with a £50m move to Manchester United, leaves Everton next summer, Chelsea will be entitled to nothing after failing to agree a sell-on clause for the Belgian. The Times report this morning that the 22-year-old, whom the Toffees value at £60m, is free to move in future without worrying about a chunk of his transfer fee going back to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues hierarchy will come under intense scrutiny over the decision not to invest in the future when they sold Lukaku two years ago. According to the report, the Londoners made the same mistake with Kevin De Bruyne’s 2014 switch to Wolsfburg – losing out on a part of the £55m paid for the forward by Manchester City last summer. The move to let the pair leave Stamford Bridge is believed to have been a contributing factor behind the decision to sack Jose Mourinho last month.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp set to hijack Chelsea's move for Alex Teixeira

The Reds have launched a £24.6m bid for Shakhtar Donetsk's attacking midfielder as boss Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his attacking options.

Chelsea thought they were in pole position.

But Anfield chief executive Ian Ayre flew to Florida to hold face-to-face meetings with Shakhtar, who are in America for winter training.

Ayre is believed to have flown back to Merseyside last night but discussions are continuing.

Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov is not keen to let the Brazil attacker go in this transfer window unless their valuation of around £38m is met.

But Liverpool want to add more goals to their side after just 25 in 22 Premier League game so far.

And Teixeira, 26, has scored 22 goals in 15 league appearances so far this season with three strikes in six Champions League outings.

The Reds are hoping they can strike a deal with Shakhtar before the transfer window closes in 10 days' time.

Teixeira missed Shakhtar's 3-2 friendly defeat by Corinthians on Wednesday with reports of the Brazil star suffering a hamstring injury.

But Shakhtar boss Mircea Lucescu said: "I decided not to risk it and rest him."

Teixeira, who joined Shakhtar in 2010 from Vasco da Gama, is interested in a move to the Premier League.

Last month he said: "Playing in the Premier League is a personal dream, it's the best championship in the world."

Arsene Wenger: Arsenal will battle Chelsea ace Diego Costa... but we won't be wound up
ARSENE WENGER has warned his men to stay calm in their "battle" with Diego Costa.

By David Woods, Chief Football Writer / Published 22nd January 2016

Arsenal centre back Gabriel was sent off for a kick at the hothead striker when the Gunners lost 2-0 at Chelsea in September.

Gabriel's red-card was later rescinded, while Costa was instead banned for three games for shoving Laurent Koscielny in the face.

But with round two on Sunday, if Costa recovers from a shin injury, Wenger said: "We have to be prepared for a battle because Costa gives you a fight.

"After that, it's down to the referee."

Wenger was angry with Gabriel for allowing himself to be wound-up by Costa.

And the Frenchman confirmed he has spoken to his league leaders about keeping their cool when the challenges start flying.

"We are convinced that our points and our record are linked to our discipline," he said.

"On the day we suffered because we were a bit unlucky with the decision of the referee.

"I believe we have a very strong record on the disciplinary front in the Premier League, and we want to maintain it."

Mark Clattenburg - who allowed Costa to go unpunished, despite admitting he saw the Spain star put his studs into the chest of Liverpool's Martin Skrtel in November - will be in charge at The Emirates.

Arsenal are set to welcome back both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

"The good news is that Ozil certainly will be available," Wenger said.

"Sanchez, the next two days will be decisive but, this time, I think he will make it for selection. Francis Coquelin is back in full training today, ahead of schedule.

"A few players are coming back. We're going into a very important period now, so to have people available is important for us.

"We have done extremely well during all this period when we had big players out, but it's just a good opportunity to have everybody back."

Wenger has ruled out a temporary ground share with local rivals Tottenham, while their new stadium is built.

And he has also warned Chelsea of the perils of playing at Wembley, while Stamford Bridge is redeveloped.

The Gunners played their 1998-99 Champions League games at Wembley and Wenger said: "It was a nightmare. In hindsight it was the wrong decision.

"At the time at Highbury we had to cut 5,000 seats. We decided to go to Wembley, but we didn't feel at home."

Opportunities beckon for youngsters...

Pedro, Matic, Oscar and Hazard set to leave the bridge...

Mikel should step up to fill in for Matic... if not RLC.... Kenedy and Traore to fill in for Oscar, Pedro and Hazard... Yeah, the midfield department is thinner now... We can always recall our loanees... recall Moses please...

one sad news is Ramirez set to leave... we need another utility player like him...

If Oscar, Pedro, Matic and Hazard leave we seriously need a creative player besides Cesc... Cesc is proven to be more effective as a deeper lying midfielder rather than an attacking midfielder... can Pato play as AM?

Entertaining but maybe it's just drama, the "fans" seem like repeated staged actors.
I'd guess the sentiment is somewhat true, Fabregas is marked as a traitor as much as Michael Owen to Liverpool.

The guy who kiss the flag and spit on the other poster is rclxms.gif

Anyone want to talk about upcoming epl clash? Most people are saying Arsenal have the upper hand against us. Cech, Ozil, Sanchez will get us.

We missing our talisman Jose for this clash for sure. Past 3 years under him, not a goal conceded to Arsenal. Even this season we manage to get them once. This time around, not so confident.

Walk out of Emirates with 1 point is good enough for me. Need ramires to follow Ozil, Mikel will be too slow to cover him.

I missed Mata, Ballack, DD, Cech and Essien so much... Those guys played with so much balls and spirit, heck I even miss Luiz and his never say die attitude. It's a real shame that even L'Pool are beating us for a Transfer Target in Teixeira. Dark times ahead for Chelsea fans.

The Daily Mirror reports the Dutchman is eager to test himself at the top level in the Premier League and thinks Hiddink can have a big impact.

Koeman said: "If Guus puts a good word in for me, that would be a big influence."

The 52-year-old Saints boss has had success with Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord in his homeland, winning multiple Eredivisie titles.

He told Dutch radio: "It is certainly something that I always have at the back of my mind.

"I always want to achieve the highest possible level. That has happened in Holland and that's what I'd really like to achieve abroad."

sos tomato

thoughts?

His first season in S'ton was good. Partly due to the team spine left by Pochettino imho. His 2nd season in S'ton is not going on very well after he made several signings that he wants.

I prefer Pochettino over Koeman. Just look at Spurs this season, and how Pochettino keeps his faith in youngsters like Alli and Dier.

Yea. The team that Pochettino manages always got youth breakthru into first team. In S'ton, they have players like Clyne, Chambers. Now in Spurs, Pochettino give chances to youth like Alli, Mason, Bentaleb.

I think Pochettino can work wonders with RLC, Kennedy and Bamford. drool.gif

agree on the big if.. but derby game usually did not take into account the respective team's form.

luck really need to be on our side for tonight notworthy.gif

Really hope Matic can regain his form and touches in this important derby match.

I was hoping for Ramires to start, what does he need to do to get a start under Hiddink? I think he might be useful in pivot against Ozil. A runner to harass Ozil through out the game. not giving Ozil the space and time to pick a pass. Hope Hiddink knows better. flex.gif

yeah, i also think should start Ramires. maybe can sub him in later if shit gets too tough. at least got Matic to help out Mikel.. hopefully he have a good game anyways.
dont expect Hiddink to come for a win also. his job is to keep the shit ship afloat

After matic had an absolute horror show vs everton, you'd think guus would drop him for this one.

Hmm..perhaps he showed progress in training? I mean he's practically the only player who hasn't shown any sort of improvement under the new manager.

honestly, i think that is a very unusual substitution when giroud is sacrificed for gabriel. seriously, i think he is one of the player in the rank capable of some magic moment...

we are looking good so far. i think iva played brilliantly on the right. times is offensive run properly and doing his defensive job as well. matic seems to learn that it is best for him to simplify his gameplay, in which he does.

i think if sanchez to be introduced in 2nd half, best for hazard to be in as well, in place for oscar. playing at the #10 position behind costa. why? there was a gaping hole there. gabriel not been playing regularly and flamini seems to be going forward more than protecting the back 4. i think hazard can capitalize this space. plus, koscielny is already on a yellow card...

hoping for the best for tonight!

not really sure why he sub Giroud. lost the tallest guy in the defense, he subbed the tallest one in attacking who can score.
maybe he harap ozil - walcott to outpace Iva's side i guess. lucky Walcott offside few times liaw.

same thought here. Hazard for Oscar, since Oscar is on a yellow as well. can exploit their high line as well. i think they might sub either Sanchez or Oxlade for Campbell on the right. try out pace our line

Not a fan of our slow-mo attacking when we have possession as I think we definitely need a second goal to really make the game safe. Arsenal just need a goal and we’ll start panicking in no time. Guus needs to use our subs wisely as well. Wouldn't mind oscar brought off for eden or RLC.

And also the slow mo show Per looking at the linesman for an offside, then lunged at Costa. Definitely foul. He was half hearted to appeal for offside n tackle. And he committed to the tackle.

that's what he did last season, interceptions, closing down, rampaging down the field, creating chances too. But this match, can see he is getting better. Not at last season's standard yet thou.

btw Azpi vs Bellerin is having a nice duel.

a great win nonetheless.. i think the team played brilliantly in the first half and dozed off in the second half.

the red card was a real turnover point. not only arsenal lose one of their player, their morale was seemingly killed and i think it was more due to the substitution that was made after the red card.

Yup. Fab dictate the tempo of the game very well. Pick Costa due to his goal and his contribution for the red. Lolololol.

Yea. The red card is really critical to our win. Defender red card, Giroud subbed out. If there is no red card, Giroud stayed on and Sanchez started, it might have been a different story.

But kudos to Costa for the goal, and nice cross by Iva!

As for me, I'm content with top 7.

Aaaaaahh putting a dent in arsenal's title hopes always makes for a fantastic week of football.

Quite a miracle we actually managed a clean sheet. To be fair, that barge on cesc was a clear cut penalty and oscar would've despatched that,no doubt.

Cruising 2-0 would've been nice instead of hanging on like terrified deer caught in headlights towards the end.

Desperately needed all 3 points here. Fantastic result.

Exactly. Could've worked a lot,lot harder in the second half in order to secure that second goal, then we can jog around like primadonnas and park the bus. We got a bit lucky today with their players miskicking ALL their chances, and they got a bit lucky when the ref dismissed that foul on fab.

yes he dunno to whom to pass since he look at d front he just saw garbage Theo (Wenger's godson no.2) or useless Ramsey (1st godson). Thats as same as no need to pass or just let loose the ball. what d different.

Wenger messed up with team selection and team tactical plan. And he again screwed it with his subs selection. Too much godsons. Waiting now for he to publish the next world best selling book "Arsenal 101: 1001 ways on how to f*ck up in big games. By A.Wenger".

Congrats on d win. U took the chance well n worthy to win. :claps:

i think for arsenal there are a few key problem against us..

1 - flamini and ramsey nowhere near our playmaker cesc, he calmly dictate the game and control the ball from the middle..

2 - ballerin vs azpi was a tight fight..should switch him earlier..

3 - the giroud subs was weird one, if im wenger i will play 4-4-1 with giroud as target man and go for counter attack..

4 - sanchez should start the game..

5 - ozil cant get pass mikel and matic

6 - they still play arsenal type of football even when they were down with 10 men..if chelsea..we might already park the bus and let costa alone up there..cuz maybe that just our mentality that if you dont concede you will get chances for 1 pts or even 3pts..

Remy really shows why he doesnt deserved to start in the starting eleven. Dont want to at least try to chase the ball. just walking and ball watching.

This is the real Chelsea. And I believe that we can show in the future again that we deserve to play for this club and of coz we are not in a good position in the table. There are still a lot of games in the season.

Since Guus came back, Mikel has been brilliant! Btw, last night Matic was very solid too. I would love to see us go out there and buy a player like Teixeira in this window, but imo the board + Roman aren't willing to spend atm because we doesn't have a Perm Manager yet.

Loan move is good, as long as he comes in. New players bring something new to the team.
Agree on solid play of first half vs gunners, especially the period before the red card and goal.

dont think falcao leaving, apparently Monaco doesn't want him back, just deadweight in the squad.
Remy needs to do more to impress.

Two Chelsea midfielders linked to China moves

According to reports by both ESPN and Globoesporte, Ramires, who has been overlooked in recent times by interim manager Guus Hiddink, looks to be on his way to Chinese side, Jiangsui, after an apparent "irrefutable proposal" for both the player and the club. It was only three months ago, that the midfielder, who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2010, signed a contract extension running until summer 2019. The Guardian suggest that the transfer fee could be as high as £20 million, and that the departure might happen as soon as today.

According to the Daily Mail, John Obi Mikel, who has been a key figure thus far in Guus Hiddink's second tenure at the club just as he was in the first, is wanted at Shanghai SIPG by their manager, Sven Goran Eriksson. However, with Ramires' departure looking all but imminent now, it's highly unlikely that the club would be willing to part ways with the Nigerian as well.

i think remy just had it with having to impress. his body language shows he doesn't even want to play pun against arsenal.

i dont understand why remy/falcao>bamford.

What I love about these crucial 3 points is the fact that NONE of the pundits out there gave us a chance of getting ANYTHING out of the arsenal game. practically everyone was writing us off and claiming how arsenal are going to wipe the floor with us and wenger probably beaming with a triumphant post-match grin afterwards.

Like a couple of years ago when we put paid to pool's 'champions elect' status at anfield,it sure felt great to once again spit in the faces of all those wannabe pundits and piss on their one sided predictions.

I mean..I knew our form was patchy at best going into the game but come on,we're not that horrible. We worth a draw at least but I guess only chelsea fans could see that.

Hence that made victory much much sweeter.

Ramires to leave Chelsea for Chinese side Jiangsu Suning

Chelsea midfielder Ramires is close to a move to Chinese side Jiangsu Suning.

The 28-year-old, signed from Benfica for about £17m in 2010, is expected to join the Super League side for a fee which could reach £25m.

Ramires signed a new four-year deal in October 2015 but has only started seven Premier League games in a campaign in which the Blues have struggled.
Jiangsu finished ninth in China's top tier in 2015 and are managed by former Blues defender Dan Petrescu.

They also won the Chinese Cup in 2015 - the biggest honour in their history.

In his time at Stamford Bridge, Ramires has won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League and Europa League.

wah... even BBC oso reported this news. Sad to see Ramires leave. cry.gif If Ramires really leaves, and RLC still don't get game time. I will rage. laugh.gif

what you guys think about 4-2-3-1 formation? for me the AM and CM role always conflicted especially when you have someone like Lampard and Cesc in CM role..thats why most of the time Oscar look like out of place..unless we use two defensive minded CM then the AM can fully function..

For me 4 2 3 1 i good when playing 1 dm with defensive mindset like mikel or last season matic and another dm with half defensive and half attacking like lampard. I see fab as full attacking dm player which is not entirely bad but if his partner can and will only need to cover him. If rb or lb leaking, the defensive dm need to cover it and this will create a big hole which is bad or the cb.

That is why i more to 2 dm with 1 totally defensive mindset and another with half attack half defense. To me fab is more toward full attacking dm right now.

I think loaning Pato for 6 months is a good move. With falcao out with injury and remy no longer interested to play, we really need a reliable back-up for Costa. Based on Wikipedia, he played quite regularly for Sao Paulo so I guess, he is quite sharp and hopefully not that fragile.

I think Mikel + last season's Matic is solid. Mikel as we know is the bus driver, last season's Matic is doing everything right, tackling, intercepting, marauding runs from deep, playing box to box. In short an anchorman + box to box at pivot sounds perfect imho. I always think of it like this. Anchorman - Mikel. Box to box - Matic, Ramires.

Fab to me is more of a deep lying playmaker. He likes to do long passes up front for strong and direct runners like Costa. But 1 scary thing is he also likes to play tiki taka when deployed at pivot. A bit dangerous imo. And his upper body strength not good enuff to hold off players. Which kinda explains why sometimes he is played as AMF.

Not sure how to categorize RLC yet. Hopefully he can develop into a box to box type of player.

Against team with good attacking midfielders, Mikel + Matic. Against team with less than average attacking midfielders, Matic + Fab.

I still have my doubts on Pato. i dun wanna be like last time when Falcao comes and i go, oh not bad, he will be 2nd or 3rd choice, someone proven and can be relied on, some temporary fix for 2nd or 3rd choice striker. laugh.gif

But I really hope Pato can prove the doubters wrong and have a major impact on the team.

remy might go to newcastle on loan. i say it might be good for him at this point. since last season he had minimal game time.
lacking form and passion for the game. some game time there might shake the rust off his feet

Rami has always given 110% whenever he's on the pitch, and if I remember correctly,Carlo and RDM got the best out of his tireless running and deceptively accomplished finishing.

Unfortunately he looks quite out of place in our formation these days, when he should be good enough to start in most teams who know how to utilise his strengths.

25m is crazy money to turn down, and his departure will hopefully accelerate RLC's integration into the first 11.

A 6 month loan move with a view to signing him if all goes well can only be a win-win situation for all those involved. We get to see if he's good enough, and the player will be eager to give his all in order to secure a permanent move. If he decides the epl isn't his cup of tea, both parties can go their separate ways.

Yep his fragility should be our biggest worry, and there have been reports that Guus insisted on a loan move instead of a straightforward signing. Good on him for looking out for the club's interests, even though he's just an interim appointment. Could've easily gone down the 'yes man' route with roman but didn't,good ol' Guus smile.gif
