QUOTE(prabjit93 @ Apr 29 2016, 12:23 PM) I also would like to know the feedbacks for those that have been using Mi5 because I'm interested in this phone and maybe will get the 32gb model if it does come to Malaysia. This post has been edited by robzombie79: May 3 2016, 09:39 AM |

QUOTE(oe_kintaro @ Apr 25 2016, 11:00 AM) If it's price you're aiming for, RN3's SD650 is already close to SD810 class in terms of performance think, and it only retails for RM849. Frankly SD810 was a failure because of the thermal throttling issues and I woulds stay away from from phones in the 808/810 class. Rather than pointing fingers at Qualcomm, they are using ARM A57 cores which is the cause of the over-heating. Even Samsung Exynos 7420 suffers from extreme heat, but better than Qualcomm because Samsung is using 14nm compared to Qualcomm which stuck on 20nm. MI5 is aiming for a higher bracket and gunning for this year's top-end. If it retails for 1.8K as predicted, it's still a way better proposition from this year's high end brand names which retail in the 2K+ price point No such problem this year as ARM already deal with it with the release of ARM A72 which makes SD650 extremely competitive. Qualcomm and Samsung resort to using their custom design cores. |

Yes I suppose you could blame the A57 if you put it that way. Heat generation / power consumption is always a function of interaction between process node and the chip design anyways. No such problem this year as ARM already deal with it with the release of ARM A72 which makes SD650 extremely competitive.
