What credit card do you recommend to get RM200 discount?

Err we are talking about mi3 sold by mi malaysia. From rm800+ increase to rm1549 is too much.

Well I will give a real life experience. My ipad 2 refuse to on but it's still alive (got sound when plug in, detected by itunes). Go to apple malaysia official warranty service, they refuse to fix for me despite it's having apple malaysia (expired). Send to directd, got it back in a week. As good as new.
So if xiaomi malaysia don't want to fix, there's always directd.
My father's mi3 never have any issue until today.

No problem. Just side load it. It's easy.

Compare flagship with flagship.

Despite redmi note 3 having 4000mah battery, it's not long lasting like mi5

If yoi really need the space. However I think better to take s7 for that price. Buy yourswlf an external SD caed.

Wait for Oppo Find 9 and see what they bring to the market and their price. By that time, mi5 should drop RM100-200. So is a win-win situation. If oppo comes with nice phone and price, get oppo. Or else get a mi5 at discount.

According to reviews, battery life is excellent. That's why I want to buy it.

I am waiting for oppo find 9. If same price might consider Find 9. Both will be a winner. If I pick Mi, the price would have drop. If pick oppo find 9, price would be same with current mi5 (hopefully) with better specs.

Forget Thorus. Jacked up the price.
Go for import set. Save yourself rm150-200

If they keep increasing in price, their products not interesting anymore.

I think it's because of our RM. If you comapre RMB with RMB I dont think it increases much since mi4.

Don't worry. Huawei is catching up to them so is Asus. Only a matter of time before xiaomi needs to rethink their strategy.
What's the big deal with phone updates? I am on android 4.4.4 on my xperia zr and my phone is lag-free most of the time. An update was issued but I refuse to update. Better don't update too much or it might lag like iphones. Every version of update applied to the iphone will slow it down. SO what difference does it make LoLollipop/Marshmallow. A phone is just a phone. Not like a PC. Heck even with PC, I am not upgrading to Win 10. So for me updates not that important.

Ipad mini 2 still new. Try like those people who have iphone 4, 4s who update past ios7, lag worse than android. For apple, it's already proven (in the news) that each update say 9>10 will slow down the device a little at a time. This is apple's strategy so that you will be forced to buy a new device after their official update support ended. Imagine if one never update the ios. The phone/ipad won't lag and apple won't be able to sell any new devices unless we are talking about isheep who buy apple devices every year.
The reason I don't upgrade my windows 7 is because microsoft ethics of being too pushy with windows 10, too much spyware (they track you like crazy), bugs on windows 10.
For me a phone is just used for whatsapp, take picture, call, sms light browsing. No banking stuff. No login to emails. Also, android is a mini version of linux. Exploits in linux are rare compare to windows. Yes there are security issue. But if you take precaution like scanning all apk with virustotal before installing, it helps a lot. Also who ask someone to itchy hand go install unknown apps from Play store? If still scared, disable 3rd party installation. Enable 3rd party installation only when needed.
So updates not important in android for me.
Cool if it can extend battery life (some updates), bring better camera softwares but most of the time is to fix bugs which we may/may not experience. But security wise, not a real issue unlike windows. That's why people complain that their device lag. My device never lag cause I decide not to update too much. the first 1-5 updates/updates in a year should be fine. After that, I won't bother and up to today, my xperia zr is still smooth. I prefer smooth phone over updates. My mother's mi3 have never been updated (not even once - she doesn't know how and does not want to do it) since coming out of the box. Is still as fast as if it was opened yesterday.
Well logically speaking, if you never update, the phone will still be in pristine mode. She uses the phone for whatsapp, take picture, call and sms only.

I know but there are ways to use windows without the updates. Complete virtualization. But that's OT.

For android I am not sure. Better be safe than sorry.

THanks for the headup. Might want to look into it cause I didn't hop onto the last update after user complaining that there are some battery life issue.

Nope. Why? Beacuse if they can sell mi3 (last time) at around same price with china, they can do it again. Only this time they are not doing it. So xiaomi malaysia/thorus can keep their phone, I keep my money.
