Instead of that, why not wait 2-3 more days... see if it pops up in G5 and use the relevant credit card for RM200 discount...
What credit card do you recommend to get RM200 discount? Xiaomi Mi5 Discussion, Xiaomi's new flagship

QUOTE(Titan_Gunners @ Jun 15 2016, 09:15 AM) again, just based on book value calculation...u try and let us know... Well I will give a real life experience. My ipad 2 refuse to on but it's still alive (got sound when plug in, detected by itunes). Go to apple malaysia official warranty service, they refuse to fix for me despite it's having apple malaysia (expired). Send to directd, got it back in a week. As good as new. Frankly speaking, i do not confidence for Xiaomi QC, so i always suggest ppl buy local set.. fyi. Xiaomi local service center do not accept any service/repair for ap set, even you pay them.. so, the only way is to send back to China... save rm200+ for these kind of trouble?? So if xiaomi malaysia don't want to fix, there's always directd. My father's mi3 never have any issue until today. QUOTE(metaloid @ Jun 15 2016, 09:21 AM) No problem. Just side load it. It's easy.QUOTE(Titan_Gunners @ Jun 15 2016, 09:21 AM) why compare mi5 with mi3? Compare flagship with flagship.u should make noise why redmi note 3 selling 849, also similar price to mi3... QUOTE(gogo2 @ Jun 15 2016, 09:40 AM) redmi note 3 having all the feature of flagship and also having feature of flagship does not have Despite redmi note 3 having 4000mah battery, it's not long lasting like mi5such as microSD and 4000mAH battery. |

QUOTE(Jason @ Jun 17 2016, 12:26 PM) Wait for Oppo Find 9 and see what they bring to the market and their price. By that time, mi5 should drop RM100-200. So is a win-win situation. If oppo comes with nice phone and price, get oppo. Or else get a mi5 at discount. QUOTE(Tiaso @ Jun 17 2016, 02:12 PM) err, there are many colours. Purple, gold, white, black. But black is sold at higher price compared to white. According to reviews, battery life is excellent. That's why I want to buy it.battery life can last me a day, i only play COC. Charge 100% full only took around 1 hour. |

QUOTE(dingding @ Jun 20 2016, 11:25 AM) I'm using one for my power bank. Charging is not as fast as the original cable. Proven by using Ampere app as well to measure the current runnnig through it. which tops at around 1000mA, but mostly below as compared to the original which can go up to 3000mA I am waiting for oppo find 9. If same price might consider Find 9. Both will be a winner. If I pick Mi, the price would have drop. If pick oppo find 9, price would be same with current mi5 (hopefully) with better specs. Now that oneplus 3 is out with much better specs.... 6GB of ram, Double the mi5's! Sigh... Bought this phone a little too early I guess.. Maybe should've waited a little longer... |

QUOTE(nikobellic @ Jun 21 2016, 10:55 PM) If you read xiaomi' official website in China, you will noticed that the Mi5 pro, despite being introduced months ago, is only available to the China market w.e.f 18 June 2016. The 64GB version is always out-of-stocks and the 32GB version is most of the time only available in white color. Probably this explained why only the 32GB is launched recently in India and coming to Malaysia soon. I don't know what is the problem with xiaomi, whather it is a genuine production bottleneck or just their starve-to-feed marketing strategy. Forget Thorus. Jacked up the price. Anyway I need to buy a mobile soon and seems like the value-for-money options that I have now is between the Mi5 and 1+3, which both came with good specs, too good to gauge any significant differences for a moderate user like me. Nonetheless I think I will go for the Mi5 for the more palm-friendly screen size, also for it's earlier availability. A check on Thorus Tech FB today noticed that they will publish the list of authorized dealers on their FB tomorrow (22/6) paving way for the official launch (in Malaysia market) coming Saturday. Go for import set. Save yourself rm150-200 QUOTE(michael9413 @ Jun 22 2016, 12:36 AM) To be frank less than 5.3" is a nice size for our palm... I do agree on that... Was waiting for this or HTC10 before got my hand on the Nexus, which is big n bulky... If they keep increasing in price, their products not interesting anymore. About their starve marketing strategy... I do not surprise of that... I do interest of their product cos of pricing, but quality isn't as good as others... Same as Redmi Note 3 pro 2G/16GB is available anytime but 3G/32GB always out of stock very fast... and also their quality which ppl complaint about the gaps of rear cover vs FP for RN3... So those whom are interested of the top range always buy from Scalpers, because of availability issues... This post has been edited by Ramjade: Jun 22 2016, 08:09 AM |

Mi5 64GB RMB2300 We can that the increase in price is because of our MYR. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Jun 22 2016, 11:26 AM |

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Jun 22 2016, 08:51 PM) Well there are ppl which is not satisfy with something isn't it... you can't expect all ppl to agree with XiaoMi hunger strategy for their top range model.... Don't worry. Huawei is catching up to them so is Asus. Only a matter of time before xiaomi needs to rethink their strategy. I also feel boring, announce to whole world they have a very good too range flagship phone but not available... u still support them, u will only make them stronger... And further more, a lot ppl thought that upgrade MIUI version equal to system major updates.... haha... still got ppl argue MIUI v7 is Lollipop and MIUI v8 is Marshmallow.. so happy if it is so... What's the big deal with phone updates? I am on android 4.4.4 on my xperia zr and my phone is lag-free most of the time. An update was issued but I refuse to update. Better don't update too much or it might lag like iphones. Every version of update applied to the iphone will slow it down. SO what difference does it make LoLollipop/Marshmallow. A phone is just a phone. Not like a PC. Heck even with PC, I am not upgrading to Win 10. So for me updates not that important. |

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Jun 23 2016, 12:24 AM) Sony, basically their UI quite lite and so far my wife experience is ok... apple? I dunno my iPad mini 2 retina still lag free... and I have a core2duo laptop which on Win10 pro also quite smooth... android old version have security concerns... something which we might not know... and I do have concerns on updates... it seems u don mind to have older version which has security concerns loopholes... so don upgrade your device lo.. Ipad mini 2 still new. Try like those people who have iphone 4, 4s who update past ios7, lag worse than android. For apple, it's already proven (in the news) that each update say 9>10 will slow down the device a little at a time. This is apple's strategy so that you will be forced to buy a new device after their official update support ended. Imagine if one never update the ios. The phone/ipad won't lag and apple won't be able to sell any new devices unless we are talking about isheep who buy apple devices every year. The reason I don't upgrade my windows 7 is because microsoft ethics of being too pushy with windows 10, too much spyware (they track you like crazy), bugs on windows 10. For me a phone is just used for whatsapp, take picture, call, sms light browsing. No banking stuff. No login to emails. Also, android is a mini version of linux. Exploits in linux are rare compare to windows. Yes there are security issue. But if you take precaution like scanning all apk with virustotal before installing, it helps a lot. Also who ask someone to itchy hand go install unknown apps from Play store? If still scared, disable 3rd party installation. Enable 3rd party installation only when needed. So updates not important in android for me. Cool if it can extend battery life (some updates), bring better camera softwares but most of the time is to fix bugs which we may/may not experience. But security wise, not a real issue unlike windows. That's why people complain that their device lag. My device never lag cause I decide not to update too much. the first 1-5 updates/updates in a year should be fine. After that, I won't bother and up to today, my xperia zr is still smooth. I prefer smooth phone over updates. My mother's mi3 have never been updated (not even once - she doesn't know how and does not want to do it) since coming out of the box. Is still as fast as if it was opened yesterday. Well logically speaking, if you never update, the phone will still be in pristine mode. She uses the phone for whatsapp, take picture, call and sms only. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Jun 23 2016, 07:18 AM |

QUOTE(Jurlique @ Jun 23 2016, 08:51 AM) LoL! First time heard ppl don't like to update their phone. For android I am not sure. Better be safe than sorry. And more ridiculous is got people complain android updates makes their phones lag even more. If that's the case, why don't you stay at android froyo version? QUOTE(metaloid @ Jun 23 2016, 08:56 AM) There's a huge improvement to lollipop/marshmallow. Extra beneficial features such as doze mode for better battery life and new Art cache system which improves response and performance. I would say for android, OS updates actually improves performance compared iOS which gets heavier each update. THanks for the headup. Might want to look into it cause I didn't hop onto the last update after user complaining that there are some battery life issue.Think of Vista to Win 7, correcting and improving mistakes. |

QUOTE(sygoh3 @ Jun 24 2016, 02:02 PM) Xiaomi problem, just simple mathematics calculation: Thorus also must untung what. RM1549 deduct 6% GST, original price is RM1461.32 before GST, compare with china model CNY1999, xiaomi using RM1~CNY1.37 currency exchange rate. If compare to current exchange rate about RM1~CNY1.6, CNY1999/1.6+6%GST is about RM1324.33. dont say the RM225 different was due to transportation QUOTE(Iphone5s6120 @ Jun 24 2016, 02:03 PM) That's right. Not buying from mi Malaysia this time. Will buy from importers when the price drop drastically. Aiming for 64GB black.QUOTE(gedebe @ Jun 24 2016, 02:26 PM) what about the value itself, is mi5 not good enuf to justify the price? Other phone simillar feautures don't even come close to this price! Nope. Why? Beacuse if they can sell mi3 (last time) at around same price with china, they can do it again. Only this time they are not doing it. So xiaomi malaysia/thorus can keep their phone, I keep my money. |
