No Worry bro  biggrin.gif

Actually due to my working situation i need a dual sim and large memory phone,
But now days all the flagship come with 32 GB and hybrid slot or single sim with memory card, and i hate to bring 2 phones
So non of it can fulfill my needs for my work,
Thats why i planning to get a 128gb internal memory phone with dual sim.
But i see this place like so quiet and not much ppl using it.
i scare will get the wrong one ...
Thats why asking for some feedback on here.  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

If you can wait a bit, S7 price will drop (but won't be as low as Mi5) which I think right now is a pretty good phone. S7 have hybrid slot

S7 hybrid slot cannot fulfill my needs.  smile.gif

You will never get 128GB in Malaysia. You will have to buy from scalpers and gray importer.

guys i have an opportunity to get an xiaomi 5 from china soon.
64gb for RM1450 after conversion

question are:
i assume its going to be chinese os, is it easy to change to english language?
what about installing google services and other google stuff?
worse case i need to flash to international os? or does it even exist?

or am i better off getting a local honor 7 enhance instead?
*
You just select english on the startup page. Just download the play store .apk and copy to your phone. SImply lauch the .apk make sure that you have enable unknown sources.

thanks
thanks
good guide, seems simple enough.

Im guessing you all had done the same process or did you guys install global rom? as Mi5 is all AP set as of now?
*
I don't have mi5 but will get it once it's release in Malaysia. I have played with mi4c, and it was an awesome phone (even though I am sure the ROM is china ROM). My main point is good price, good battery life, decent camera. Even if I buy AP set, I think I will use the CHina ROM, uninstall all the apps. I wouldn't pay so much for a china phone (huawei = RM2k+)

Well for me, I don't install much stuff and my mother's Mi3 (never update the phone) was an awesome phone. No lag nothing.

Huawei is good but price will sure not cheap...
ROM update also slow...

Lenovo ZUK 2 is tempting if u prefer 5" screen...
Buy frm india is cheaper than china...
Around RM950

Lenovo problematic phone. No matter how good the specs will avoid until I read it's ok.

You have scuppered my no 1 choice ? can you described the problem with lenovo? what about zte, my othe choice  will be zte axon 7 or asus zen3 deluxe whichever come first.

although i really like xiaomi mi5 pro.  but the scalpers situation means that i always lose out.
*
Lenovo have battery charging issue. The phone cannot charge and it will drain. Even you off it also cannot charge. It shows charging but in reality it's not. So far 2 cases I know of

No experience with zte or asus. But people say asus is good. I don't know. Personally I will not buy a phone from manufacturers who are originally not phone manufacturer.

I will wait for mi5 to come or oppo find 9. See which one is cheaper.

if i buy the import set whats the preloaded app inside i afraid later find bunch of chinese app i dont understand . i cant find any pro version of the import set
*
Here's your reply (below by another member). Pro version or what, most likely it will come from China. If you accidentally open a chinese language app, simply close it la. laugh.gif

QUOTE(dingding @ Jun 7 2016, 07:26 AM)
Don't pass on the chance to get it cheap man.  Buy it. 1450 is a good price for a 64gb version.  The in case ur phone gets the bloatware installed by the reseller,  just flash the China developer ROM.  I'm using it now. And it's good.  Just install the Google Apps and it'll be like the global ROM,  but with more frequent updates. All stock Chinese apps can be un installed easily.

Mi5 official 3gb ram 32gb rom version will come with rm1549 price tag. Attempted its launching at Saturday and to be honest, its quite pricey for the lowest end version.
*
If sell for RM1549, I am not buying. shakehead.gif Mi is about cheap price. RM1549 too expensive liao. Let's see what oppo will bring to the table and the price. They keep their phone, I keep my money.

Why crash if Mi Malaysia selling for RM1549? It will spike up. Say at least RM1400

they are other option for u on much cheaper mi phone.. such as redmi note 3..

i cant understand people here complaining about xiaomi phone expensive when is hardware is almost equal to s7.. plus the camera.. for me it is decent in its price level.. dont go compare it to s7 or apple or htc10, of coz you'll be frustrated.. alot of people here expect a high performance phone with super tech and features but not willing to pay for the price..  doh.gif
you cant get a flagship s820 phone below 2k anymore nowdays esp with our economy..
*
When mi3 hit malaysia, the price is only RM800+. If AP set seller can cheaper than Mi Malaysia, you know that Mi Malaysia is overcharging us. If you want to give free money to Xiaomi, be my guest.

All flagship RM2k+ liao that time

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Jun 14 2016, 01:04 AM)
That is so wrong. All flagship is above 2k. We know you lying sob.
*
Don't know is it because our RM is bad or because Xiaomi is slowly trying to increase price to flag-ship price.

Mi3 is selling probably at break even price to gain market share and as marketing.

Now they need to sell at flagship price to grow the company.😂
*
I will never pay flagship price for xiaomi. Their level is not yet on par with samsung yet (talking about the camera, no SD expansion,

Not worth. Too expensive.

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Jun 15 2016, 07:07 AM)
I'm currently using Nexus my daily driver and Samsung J5 by my company...
Why poor camera? That depends what you peeking at the photo...
Some phone's camera have decent quality also...
I don have any Huawei phone except the Nexus on my hand now... but most of my fren using Honor brand says system is better than Lenovo and Samsung... although some of them might not use flagship Samsung but midrange only...
I'm not trying to suggest any brands but trying to highlight that MIUI isn't that perfect as some ppl claimed... yes @Andrew might sayhaters like me brag about ram management... but have you face waze or Googlemaps being shut off while you received a call and then u do something... then u have to stop there and restart the apps, that is frustrating when you are nearby the area and you need to turn...
That's my experience with my x-MIUI phone and x-Samsung also...
My current Samsung J5 with 1.5G ram means I always have apps restarted... no choice company give use...
for MIUI n TouchWiz I recommend to get 4GB ram...
I do flashing last time but nothing more stable than stock ROMs...
*
What do you expect (using the J5). To experience lag free stuff, need to get flagship. Anything below flagship sure lag. That's the reality. That's why I will always get 1 year later flagship (save cost)/same specs phone with flagship specs (xperia z1 compact)

QUOTE(brutus @ Jun 14 2016, 09:19 PM)
Under Thorus means we can expect better pricing in the coming months. Just like the Mi4 under Mont Asia, we saw aggressive prices along the way and now can get it for under RM 700.
Hmmm...right time to upgrade my other half Mi4 by end year......
*
So the price will drop by december? How long is it usually for the price to drop?

True. The S7 is a beast. However at that pruce, I don't think mi5 can sell as much as mi3 in malaysia.

pls correct me if im wrong. Xiaomi 5 is 1999 yuan which means RM1273. Why mi.com/my selling for RM1549? total rip off of RM300?

i know there is shipping cost but will not be so expensive, right?
*
Normal la. Maybe because not selling through online store but local reseller so local reseller also need profit what. sad.gif That's why I am not buying. They keep their phone, I keep my money. Was thinking rm12xx-13xx. Most likely get an AP set and flash to global/china dev rom

yes, i will skip this as well. if i use taobao, the most i paid is xtra RM100...why must i pay extra to mi.com/my....they should reintroduce the price else many will boycott them.

Pity to those who taught the mi.com/my is a good place to purchase mi5.... sweat.gif

You are not taking into account every phone need to get SIRIM sticker. Then shipping charges. Then have to open local stores to serve your warranty. I would say it's not a steep price to pay.
*
Sorry. Not buying it. If they can bring in mi3 at RM800+, I dont see the reason to priced it at rm1549. If want to say our economy is bad, our RM drop by ~30%, then price should be ~rm1k. So rm12xx. is justified for 32GB. RM12xx is for mi to profit a little bit. tongue.gif

i will not do that...let those mi fan suffer and know how bad is mi.com/my  devil.gif . 2nd tot, perhaps we should educate people to purchase from taobao. is as easy as ABC.... smile.gif
*
I did that. Kena bomb by one fan aaking me to compare with s7. Btw, want to ask, if buy from taobao, is it genuine? (china lots of knockoff), then you buy directly from mi.com or buy from taobao agents?

You can wait 2 year later to buy Mi5, confirmed cheaper.. biggrin.gif

Err cannot be lei. Cause they using snapdragon 800. If 2 years after china, won't be using snapdragon 800. Will be using something before snapdragon 800.

QUOTE(Titan_Gunners @ Jun 15 2016, 09:06 AM)
u just calculate based on book value only, do not factor any risk into it..
risk of faulty unit, lost/damage in transit, tax/sirim cost if being caught...
*
If buy from official mi.com (china) + dhl shipping. Dont think it's going to be an issue.
