QUOTE(metaloid @ May 25 2016, 08:10 PM) If ur into flashing, Xiaomi phones now are very hard to unlock, u have to apply for it. Also there's no aosp or Cm rom for mi5 yet. I heard miui 7 takes up 1.5gb ram startup, stock Android on my nexus 5 takes up 600mb. haha, shit, i never even bothered to flash at all, it wasn't lag like i use S2 last time.I'm not bashing mi5, it's good value, by all means go for it if you're okay with miui. QUOTE(metaloid @ May 25 2016, 07:45 PM) Dont think 64gb is gonna come at all even India. exact opposite to my friends OP1.. drop just 50cm and the digitizer is out, change new digitizer then put in pocket somehow got crack at screen and touchscreen not working, change new screen using till now.. he even bought a spare screen in case happen again.. hahaMy friend loves his oneplus one, dropped many times even on tar road and its like a tank. Great built quality and the OS is cyanogen so its still smooth, hes gonna buy oneplus 3. If ur using Miui now, seriously give stock android or cyanogen a try, you'll love how smooth it is. I would only buy Mi5 if theres a chance to flash stock aosp. QUOTE(Tiaso @ May 25 2016, 07:54 PM) oh? my friend dropped his oneplus one at 2nd day he got it, dead straight, luckily somehow he cheat warranty and get back a new one. hmm, can't mi5 flash stock aosp? I think i should try Cyanogen a try then, i used to use it when i use S2 yup.. cyanogen is very gooding compare to miui.. plus the themes for cynogen is better to me than miui themes.. |

Somehow using global ROM, the battery is very consuming, 1.6gb RAM is consumed by MIUI. Maybe one of the reason is I on 4g the whole time. However, it's understandable that global ROM has been removed from MIUI website because its not stable, I guess I should flash back to MIUI China first. And one thing, the battery charging is superbly fast, though it's kinda hot when charging.
I tried using both my Mi3 and Mi5 camera in my room with low lighting. My Mi3 appear on my phone as pretty bright, but Mi5 more to yellowish, don't understand why. Fingerprint scanner is fast and easy (though its not exactly convenient for the need to press the home button to activate it.). Phone is light and nicely curved, the sides design is similar to Note 5 though Overall, the phone is pretty good for me now. Take note that it's a budget phone to begin with, don't compare exactly with S7 or Iphone and you're all good. This post has been edited by Tiaso: May 27 2016, 09:38 AM |

Funny thing about China phones are they never bother to upgrade the Android as per Google 18 months update mandatory. If Google proceeds with listing out the bad manufacturers list, the top section surely will be filled by China brands.
Just surf over MIUI Global site, you can see their game. |
