Hi Guys, any decent semi auto espresso machine reccommend? Currently I am looking at WPM KD-210S2, any other cheaper but decent option?
Besides, my grinder is WPM ZD-15

Budget will be <2.5k
Currently I am just drinking pour over coffee.
At least the espresso machine can deliver kind of stable pressure, and can come out 2 shots per day with no prblem...
*
If you think you the kind will upgrade then save up!
Under 2.5k hard to find something good.
Decent possible but you have to deal with import, may it from china or Italy!

Try moka pot if you want something stronger than pour over

Hmm....Just wondering, Any mignon user had done periodic maintenance on the grinder such as simple disassemble and clean the burrs ?

I would like to ask do i need to dail to a coarse grind before unscreen the top plate burr ? or can i just simple unscrew it and clean it
*
I disassembled weekly to clean burrs. No need to redial grind setting. The top burr doesn't move, the bottom move. Just unscrew and clean!

Postage too costly... hopefully 64mm screw hole can fit..
*
Well I am just sharing the price in states with the model.
If you can find replacement locally or in close by great
Buy 64mm don't fit need to buy 65mm, wouldn't be more costly?

Sending from USA postage not going to be cheap, at usd$25. Or buy locally if price is cheaper. If item plus shipping is cheaper than local, costly shipping is a moo point

haha u scare me leh! backflush using dishwash liquid is not recommended! don't want my coffee taste soapy! haha but other parts its okay la to use dishwash. but i think 1 bottle 900g should be able to last 1 year for us home user leh!! once a month backflush! smile.gif

Thanks @patryn33 for the info
*
Once a mth is good enough, if you go crazy like me I do it weekly. I only make 2-3shots daily.

Yes removing shower screen to clean impt too, do it once annually.

900g bottle 7g each time can use 128 times. 52 weeks biweekly just 182g used. Can last close to 5 years

*
36k for 1 head, 3 head usually not 36x3=108k.
If factor in shipping and import tax, over 100k certainly

i think he means when it needs to descale the machine, preferred to have hot water wand to descale.
*
Flushing thru the group head bad?
Don't know the maintenance recommendations for the machine with no water wand. If that's the way to do it, is that harder than thru the water wand?

Disclaimer advice, Make sure you know where the parts goes after tear them apart and don't use force, God, i broke my steam pipe 3 times just to make the right adjustment  doh.gif

No Hot Water Wand ? Easy there is 2 thing you can do....Send to vendor to do it or just DIY if you had your free time on hand (Means Dismantle them completely for descale)
*
Wait I am finding such instructions on HB leh...
Even with water wand you can dismantle to do it really right
http://www.home-barista.com/espresso-machi...cale-t3080.html

QUOTE(Dan430 @ Jan 4 2017, 08:42 AM)
its just a risk to do that. because sometimes huge chunk of lime scale could block the group head and cause unnecessary problems. I'm not talking about back flushing tho, more of a descaling the boilers that maybe inefficient due to calcium build up overtime, without hotwater wand its better not to descale. or be like D33 take em apart and descale it!  laugh.gif  rclxm9.gif
*
Didn't look like an issue for the HB western folks...
Cowboys don't know what they doing?
Slayer or those HG1 by cowboys bad idea??
