I started out with a Hario, got tired very quickly but it's reliable biggrin.gif

There is the Breville Smart Grinder BCG800 and the Breville Smart Grinder Pro BCG820. You want the pro version, currently going for ~RM1.5k, much cheaper if you're ever in Australia biggrin.gif Not sure where you can get a commercial grinder for a few hundred more, can you clue us in?

2-3 page back.... Mazzer super jolly rm$1880 vs RM1.5k

Hi sifu. I've got a drip coffee machine in office, and I really like milk with my coffee. No microwave machine, so I'm thinking of getting a milk frother that heats the milk up at the same time. Any suggestions?

Don't think I can afford an Aerochino though. Something cheaper would be great. Looked through taobao a little bit, but can't read chinese, not sure what to get and how to get it over.

Thanks

Look promising but don get fool by just the few developer talk.... i suspecting it might be good only for drip and press but not espresso... hmm.gif
*
Well I am trying to pull the graph on coffee freshness vs time. Even you don't use it to grind, can use to monitor beans freshness!

And this is coffee thread, press or drip don't give coffee lover the coffee joy?

Hey guys i have a question that has been bothering me for a while now. Why does the coffee to water ration differ between brew methods?

For example, a french press might use 1:10 coffee to water ratio while filter tends to be 1:16 and espresso 1:2. Why is that? Isn't there a sweet spot for extraction, around 20%? And is the caffeine content in all the methods the same, assuming the same amount of ground is used?
*
Caffeine content explained here
https://www.coffeechemistry.com/chemistry/a...-vs-drip-coffee

Yes the sweet spot is 20% thus the ratio

The problem with that comparison in the link is that it doesn't state the amount of ground coffee used. I am more interested to know if different brew methods contain the same amount of caffeine if the same amount of grounds are used.

Sounds like you have science experiment here

I got the go-ahead to look into a superautomatic for my office, but after doing some research, found that most end up in a state of disuse, for one reason or another. They seem to take a disproportionately large amount of maintenance, which for an office is a show-stopper.

Unfortunately the only thing that seems to make practical sense are the pod/capsule type.  Maybe the only "mod" to improve quality would be to have a grinder and fresh beans & use refillable capsules.
*
what price range of a superauto were u looking at?
manual or automatic they both need some kind of maintenance.
even for capsule type they need simple cleaning, if 90% of your ppl at work do not care about good coffee. capsule will do. capsule costly but machine cheap and maintenance easy, replacement also cheap.

if U just want coffee not espresso, these coffee machine also needs to be maintain.
my office has one that can choose between 3-4 beans type and makes coffee. it grinds and brew coffee.

maybe solution is train a maid to be a barista and do all the work tongue.gif

Reason no more poemie, already have one at home, another one at kl office, now plan to move my home poemie to pg office, so i can upgrade home unit.

If you look closely, there's alot of wear n tear signs so...  sweat.gif

the above looks like a LA SPAZIALE EK 3000 maybe alittle newer (the current S2 going for US$6k+), this below has alot of wear and tear and is going for US$2300 or close to 9K. usually prices locally like 20-50% higher than overseas.

Wont mind to give it a bump of my luck...  biggrin.gif  Who know maybe it is fully function working machine with well mantain....just only few minor wear and tear... but sadly, that fellow never seem to reply and response.
That i was expected also....based on the market survey, a commercial machine like this with used tag unit should be close to 12K - 9k, you know local will never sell item cheap even it had been used long period....

Delonghi is bad for espresso
Hario is ok if you use pressurize portafilter.

If you want the option for auto feature go Delonghi

Between the rest from reviews go with Gaggia Classic and upgrade the steam wand. Give you an option to play with coffee
