Thanks for the explanation.
The reason I prefer using gc right now is because I could purchase it off 7eleven for 20% discount.
Hopefully you're right that they will deduct off the remaining unused balance, because as of now, I could not check any balance remaining, except in my mental calculation. laugh.gif
*
Ah... RP eh... Was wondering why you'd rather use GC as opposed to the easier card/PP method.. I see.. brows.gif brows.gif

Long time back, before they officially launched in Malaysia, etc.. Used GC for awhile and could check balance online. Unsure how it's done now. Drop by and chat with the Netflix CS.. I'm sure they can check for you.

This has existed for quite awhile, even in the USA, when it was US only subs. If Netflix can't as yet solve it.. Don't know what much others can do..At least, not without affecting the ease of us favored by Netflix and users. Most should be able to know when someone else has used our accounts on an unrecognized device. Similarly, those who buy such accts off socmed, tend to know exactly what they are buying and how it was sourced.

https://www.soyacincau.com/2018/11/14/netfl...-plan-malaysia/

in india... it's rm12 per month.

and that's not good enough!!

this ALT in India charges rm18 PER YEAR!
boy, can u ever expect unifi tv or astro or dimsum to go that low?!! biggrin.gif

more likely they cry loud loud "ban the boxes"!! tongue.gif

Don't mind em... People already show they are willing to pay.. Just need to price it accordingly.. Of course, I don't expect say Asterruk to be cheap until RM12 per month. Higher IMO, also can..If only it was that easy though.. Sigh.

Ya Money Heist season 3 completed. The WAR begin.
Waiting for the season 4... Very interesting to watch..

Series i ever enjoyed watching..

1.Game of thrones (american) - completed
2.Money Heist (spanish) - waiting new episode
3.Arthdal Chronicle (korean) - waiting new episode
4 The Rain (danish) - waiting new episode
5. Resurrection of Ethrugul - just started
6. FLASH -
7. Arrow -
8. Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicle - discontinued

Any other latest series interesting to watch kinda addicted type ?
*
I too just finished the season 3 of La Casa De Papel, while I'm very disappointed at how we were left hanging, can't wait for the fourth season too.. As for Flash and Arrow, they are "somewhat okay" BUT nowhere near the awesomeness of the first 2 on the list. So if you are someone who has to finish a series once started? You might want to not watch those or at least, delay watching unless super bored and nothing better. I'd recommend..
1.. Stranger Things (Murica)
2.. The Protector (Turkish)
3.. Designated Survivor (Murica)
4.. Orange is the New Black (OITNB, Murica)
5.. Also please tell me that you've seen "House of Cards"? If you haven't, start with that. Anyways all on this list are definitely the addicting type and a much better watch than The Flash and or Arrow.. Enjoy.. biggrin.gif

Haha "Murica" i wanted to ask what language is tht...
Searched for it and that is thick slang for America, patriotic american address so ? Hahaha

Designated Survivor also in korean, just started 1st episode.
Korean will be more emotional..
Lots of sentimental, some movies can bring tears.

Protector just checked, beginning it self i liked the background music. Lets go further. Glad its in english audio too.

Resurrection Ethrugul nice background too. Too bad just in turkish , very hard to follow the subtitle. They speak quite fast.

Even korean i can follow but turkish i had to catch the subtitle fast missing the screenplay..

Stranger Things not playing yet, cover looks like 80s kids series. Orange is the new black and House of cards never tried yet.

What can I say... laugh.gif

I always prefer watching content in its original audio and reading the English subs as they come by. Luckily, it poses no issues (as yet) for me with foreign films. Oh yeah, don't be fooled by Stranger Things' cover image. The series while majorly stars kids, is not a kid show. Plenty deep meaning. There are others I can recommend, but you've got your plate full now..

I would dedicate at least twice that internet bandwidth. The rest, is as AVFAN says. But then since you asking, guess it's safe to assume that you already have the necessary hardware.

time flies... actually more like 2 months for 3 seasons.

skip the start/end credits, it is <40 min per episode... and i skip certain parts sometimes.

it is not the best show i've watched but is certainly the longest.

great time to binge on it as there is a dearth of good shows at this time.
*
I see. Unfortunately, it'll still remain on the back burner for me as I've still got a ton of catching up to do.. smile.gif

I'm using netflix with Sony oled android TV and able to get Atmos from my Samsung Q90R soundbar. Timedotcom 1gbps.

When watching uhd or vision with Atmos movie or drama... It's show only 15mbps on the info.
*
I believe I've mentioned this earlier.. That reading upon pressing info isn't internet speed.. It's the current bitrate info of the content being streamed. You have more than enough internet speed to support UHD streaming, particularly if using an ethernet cable connected to the main router. Unless really poor or bizarre circumstances, as experienced by a Netflix user....you are fine. Don't sweat it.

Yes brother i just started 2nd episode of strangers things.
It is looks like kids movie but not suitable for them haha... If censored version could be very appropriate for them on Language and adult scenes. I watched 2 episodes seems interesting.

So now in my bucket

1. The protector
2. Ethrugul
3  Designated Survivor
4. Strangers Things
*
Yup.. It takes awhile for the series to grip you.. But if it's a genre you fancy? It'll definitely be worth it. I haven't begun the last season yet.. Finishing other stuffs first.. But yeah, you are on the right track. Also Narcos from AVFAN is a solid 5/5 in my books... Another similar series that scores a solid 5 would be "Queen of the South".. Both should leave you cheering for the "bad side".. laugh.gif

I have a few question on netflix , not sure this thread still active.

1. Where can I find what tvshow or movie show in netflix in a list ? like wiki before subscribing ? This website accurate ? https://www.finder.com/my/netflix-movies ? A lot of movie doesn't show up on the search results.
2. The minimum speed to run 1080p? need 8mb , any user confirm ?
*
1. Can't really say how accurate that website is as Netflix adds and removes titles periodically. It's easier for me to simply whip out my phone to check if a title is available. Also, content varies from region to region. There are many titles in the USA library that aren't available in the UK library...and between those and here in Malaysia (maybe vice versa? I doubt it though).

2. Netflix recommends at least 5Mbps for HD video streaming. 1080p is FHD though, but a stable undisturbed 8Mbps should be sufficient too.

I heard before last year where disney wanted to form their subscription tvshow+.I didn't know they did all of it within a year.Wonder how most smart tv able to update and get Disney+ channel added into the list.I am sure netflix will come out a solution worst come , like pay to watch disney on netflix apps since it would be best solution not to subscribe extra disney+. Whether disney allow is another story.
Soon , we need to get another service for extra subscription channel sad.gif
hope in future , having 2 is more than enough splitting it into disney+ , apple tv ,netflix ,iflix , Google play TV and etc. Wonder how we manage to subscribe all of it. sweat.gif
*
IMO, Netflix will remain King for a primary reason: Original content. I doubt there’d be a pay extra to watch Disney+ on Netflix, at least not while a separate similarly priced Disney+ sub is still available..cuz that’ll will simply encourage Disney+ service’s death. So they might as well just commit suicide and return back to the model where they allow Netflix full rights to their owned content. I’ve been a Netflix sub for almost a decade and to me it just works. My major complaint is that the entire library can’t be accessed without resorting to geo-spoofing techniques. IFlix is reasonably alright. I support mainly to see if they can break the barrier and be more successful. Anything unavailable on both services can be gotten elsewhere quite easily. So I strongly doubt I’ll be splurging on anymore services just fo access to extra few titles.. nope.. sweat.gif

can u actually force HD streaming? or can  u check whether streaming in HD or not?
Using ExpressVPN so slow, maybe due to MCO? Luckily went for monthly only.
*
Firstly, ensure that your subbed plan is indeed the HD or UHD plan AND that the hardware you are using IS Netflix certified... Then using a browser, login and go adjust your Netflix playback settings.
*Sign in to Netflix.com.
*Select your profile.
*Select Account.
*Under My Profile, select Playback Settings.
*Under Data Usage, select High..
*Select Save.
*Try Netflix again.

Notes:
*Please note that playback settings are profile-specific. If you wish to improve video quality on multiple profiles, repeat the steps above for each profile.
*Data usage settings cannot be adjusted from a Kids profile.
*Adjusting this setting may increase data usage on your device.

Yes, you can check what resolution is currently being streamed and or if your hardware is capable of FHD+. On some Samsung TVs, pressing the info button shows you real-time video resolution and bitrate. Alternatively, search for the title “Test Patterns”. Lastly, make sure you have at least 10Mbps clear bandwidth. Netflix says 5Mbps is enough. But I’d go with 10Mbps minimum instead.

*
First you need to separate streaming speed from media bitrate... Netflix says needs minimum 25Mbps Internet speeds to achieve 4k streaming. It's not the same as the media bitrate. Which in Netflix's case, is definitely not true 4K/UHD bitrate. This is expected as not everyone can comfortably stream true 4K off their servers, and if they have to? It'll cause considerable strain on their network. Which might lead to higher sub fees, which we don't want. For now, their 4K HDR isn't half bad.. But if you want more clarity? You'll have to go Bluray.

Depends on which VPN server , but my starting question is it possible for a smart tv to install a vpn for netfilx ?
*
Have you confirmed that your TV can install third-party VPN apps and said apps work correctly? You need to confirm that first, most TVs can't. In the past, all it took was an IP addy-linked DNS addy change on the TV (which most TVs can do).. But Netflix caught on fast.. So yeah, the answer to your question is Yes and No. Yes, if your TV is capable and No if it isn't.. When all else fails? Get a sub and configure your router (hopefully yours is configurable & compatible with the service your subbed). Remember though that this will apply to any other device connected to the same router.

Another recommended series PRISON BREAK S1 TO S5
I used to hear this series back then 10 years ago but never showed interest at all.
But last week i wanted to try , seriously got addicted and finished up to 4 season. Now resting to move on 5.
Well scripted, well acting interesting characters, twist and turn storyline.
The best part what you predicted next, is not what is scripted.
There many ocassion where i failed of predicting or guessing correctly and amazed with the twist. Hahaha..
Makes you glued yourself to keep watching how it ends.
I cannot pick any one of the episode which is less entertaining compared to another.
Its keep driving you watch one after another.

After some episodes you definitely hooked with some characters. I never had feeling of watching a quite old series. There are minor errors in some episode if you closely looking at, but overal i felt like it just recetly filmed.
So you will not get feeling of watching backdated series.
The BGM gives you goosebumps as well, keep playing in ur mind.

Like how u feel when watch game of throne, stranger things, money heist, breakingbad and few others
*
I agree, although I’m surprised that you al got around to watching it now.. biggrin.gif IMO, most people who began watching Prison Break back then, almost immediately got hooked on it. In my case, it was agony having to wait till the next season drops AND it finds it’s way onto DVD, pirated DVDs and sold in my area.. biggrin.gif .. Back then, whole house with friends too would gather every evening to resume wherever we stopped the night before.. Haha.. I think I’ll give it another go again, from S1 till end.. brows.gif

*
I’m enjoying Osaka as well, yes it’s a tad slow but I don’t feel it’s draggy at all. I’d say it’s well-paced even. Meanwhile, from most of the past cartel series we’ve watched.. There’s only one way for people that deep to escape the Mexican cartel. I mean, see what happened to the ultra loyal lawyer.. sweat.gif BUT, I’m rooting for the family.. nod.gif

I would like to know the opposite whether which TV allow third-party VPN to be install ? The best I could find a Android tv.But does android tv really able to using vpn + netflix is unknown.
*
Ah... AFAIK? I really can’t give you a specific model that will fit that criteria. Best best would be as you suggested...Android TV OS powered TVs. Personally, I don’t like em. As for the Netflix+VPN thingy? I know much older models can’t. But then newer models have beefier hardware, processing power and much more capable software. So hey, who knows if there’s a model or more that can. But here’s the thing.. Instead of trying to find one and spending thousands of RM just to achieve that and for dunno how long or worse it doesn’t work..? You are better off, just getting a cheaper compatible router, Netflix friendly VPN sub and configuring that to be used with any Netflix certified/capable device. Doing this ensures you aren’t stuck with viewing Netflix content from other regions on a single TV model or VPN service, as you can change em at will.

*
Netflix Originals!! Just wait, you’ll get hooked soon enough.. laugh.gif

Well, as for most movies on it being dated. That is too be expected cuz it’s a VOD service, the best out there IMO. Due to the nature of VOD and licensing or copyright laws. Can’t have all blockbusters simultaneously released in the cinemas and on Netflix as well, now can we. Cinemas, DVD, & Blu-ray copies still need to be sold for profit. Typically, only after a movie is mostly done playing in cinemas worldwide, does Netflix seek or gain streaming rights. All part of keeping costs low mah for us end users. Imagine if all movies were allowed to show on Netflix and cinemas same date? I reckon many would rather watch in the security & relaxedness of their homes than go to the cinemas. Of course, there are movies that were launched and immediately released on Netflix as well.. But these are few. Anyways, I’m glad the “dated” content is there. Cuz it allows ppl like me to catch up on blockbusters we missed from years past. No hunting around, just one quick search & tap to play button away. thumbup.gif
