I have a few question on netflix , not sure this thread still active.

1. Where can I find what tvshow or movie show in netflix in a list ? like wiki before subscribing ? This website accurate ? https://www.finder.com/my/netflix-movies ? A lot of movie doesn't show up on the search results.
2. The minimum speed to run 1080p? need 8mb , any user confirm ?
*
1. Can't really say how accurate that website is as Netflix adds and removes titles periodically. It's easier for me to simply whip out my phone to check if a title is available. Also, content varies from region to region. There are many titles in the USA library that aren't available in the UK library...and between those and here in Malaysia (maybe vice versa? I doubt it though).

2. Netflix recommends at least 5Mbps for HD video streaming. 1080p is FHD though, but a stable undisturbed 8Mbps should be sufficient too.

Yeh , I did search for some famous movie like avenger , those are not available even at US but available at other country.
I wonder , it is because Malaysia company like astr0/cinemas CSG/TVG doesn't allow those movie to play on netflix or Malaysia didn't buy from netflix copyright? or the studio like Marvel Studios doesn't allow netflix to play their movie on Malaysia ?
Lastly or Malaysia Film Censorship Board block them ? but avenger is like a normal movie.

Avengers is Marvel and Marvel is bought by Disney. Anything bought by Disney is start leaving Netflix when license expired, 1st country leaving is USA, others slowing follow when the license is ended.

You won't get movies from Marvel, Fox Studio and also Disney because Disney is releasing Disney+ and refusing license to Netflix anymore especially main target on USA. For others country that depends on whether Netflix want to continue the license or not. Disney still license to Netflix for country others than USA because Disney+ only release in USA. Once Disney+ release worldwide then anything related to Disney will not appear at Netflix.

I heard before last year where disney wanted to form their subscription tvshow+.I didn't know they did all of it within a year.Wonder how most smart tv able to update and get Disney+ channel added into the list.I am sure netflix will come out a solution worst come , like pay to watch disney on netflix apps since it would be best solution not to subscribe extra disney+. Whether disney allow is another story.
Soon , we need to get another service for extra subscription channel sad.gif
hope in future , having 2 is more than enough splitting it into disney+ , apple tv ,netflix ,iflix , Google play TV and etc. Wonder how we manage to subscribe all of it. sweat.gif

IMO, Netflix will remain King for a primary reason: Original content. I doubt there’d be a pay extra to watch Disney+ on Netflix, at least not while a separate similarly priced Disney+ sub is still available..cuz that’ll will simply encourage Disney+ service’s death. So they might as well just commit suicide and return back to the model where they allow Netflix full rights to their owned content. I’ve been a Netflix sub for almost a decade and to me it just works. My major complaint is that the entire library can’t be accessed without resorting to geo-spoofing techniques. IFlix is reasonably alright. I support mainly to see if they can break the barrier and be more successful. Anything unavailable on both services can be gotten elsewhere quite easily. So I strongly doubt I’ll be splurging on anymore services just fo access to extra few titles.. nope.. sweat.gif

Disney had this idea for quite sometimes already. It is consider very slow compare with what Apple did. Within a year complete Apple TV+ for worldwide subscription. Also now Samsung, LG and Vizio since year 2019 TV already added in support of Apple TV+. LG even promote in main page (popup row) of it smart apps.

Disney+ won't appear at Netflix apps. Also may not so fast appear worldwide.

In future Netflix is leading or not, not sure as Disney+ is something, Apple TV+ wise still need sometimes to increase the catalogue. For the moment Netflix still leading. Netflix had plenty of Netflix origin TV series and movies which make people subscribe to it. It is also obvious Netflix is towards Asian catalogue now which is good. smile.gif

For iFlix, the quality still bad and they need to improve on that. But it is freaking cheap though.

Google Play TV is same as Apple movies (not the Apple TV+), paid/rent per movie. No subscription for all movies. In this case they is no impact.

By Angelin Yeoh

Users may notice a slight decrease in picture quality as Netflix announces measures to reduce its bandwidth consumption by 25% in Malaysia. — AFP Relaxnews

Netflix will be tweaking the quality of its High Definition (HD) and Ultra High Definition (UHD) content as part of its efforts to decrease overall network traffic by 25% in Malaysia.

The measure will take place today (March 31) and will continue for the next 30 days, according to the video streaming service.

A spokesperson said that customers paying to stream content in HD or UHD will still be able to view videos in those resolutions, however they may experience a “slight decrease” in picture quality.
