Just wondering is there any apps similar as Netflix but also providing SPORT shows like EPL or champion league? I'm willing to pay but not Astro in this moment, and yea Im using Smart TV
*
No, there aren't apps like Netflix for the content you seek. For one, they are 2 separate things. Netflix hosts VOD (on demand play or pause)... You are looking for live TV (real-time action).. Stick to Astro for reliability. Other illegal means are usually less reliable. The really good ones aren't popular and are kept private, cuz if public, then crackdown begins or servers are overloaded. So you'd have to really hunt around for em. However, I assure you they exist. biggrin.gif

Congrats on replying to a 17 month old post.. tongue.gif

Anyway, some aren't comfortable with piracy and what not.. Netlfix is a strong, legal alternative and its super easy to use (sure 1080p/4K/HDR + DD5.1, especially via the Smart TV app... Despite my "skills", I still remain a subscriber over the years. Don't intend to terminate my account anytime soon.

Bro, you're viewing 4k netflix content? What's the average speed it's usually streaming?
Thinking of getting 4k tv, saw that TCL 55' 4k that comes with built in Roku interface
Then there's also Amazon's own 4k tv with fire tv os baked in
*
Netflix recommends at least 25Mbps for smooth 4K & HDR streaming... So those on Unifi Adv30Mbps & above should be fine. You can get by with less, but it won't be smooth streaming. The Netflix app is smart to quickly adjust displayed resolution in line with current speed..means, you can have a 100Mbps line but if tied up in say p2p connections and have less than the recommended 25Mbps, then it drops the res to 1080p. 1080p requires about 5Mbps for smooth streaming. Ideally 10mbps, if you have more active users on the network.

IMO, better to get really smart TV from say Samsung, LG, Sharp or Sony. The right one should be officially recognized/verified by Netflix to be able to run their app and also receive updates in the future. Additionally, you can have a separate media device connected to the TV for alternative media playback.

my screamyx 8mbps sometimes is struggling to get 1080p, when TM is in good mood, I'll get fullHD
but most of the time is 720p doh.gif

for the certified devices/TV, i've gotten a Firestick plugged into my Sammy Smart 4K, loving it so far, used it more than the stupid Tizen OS from Samsung
only downside it's not support 4K, drooling to get a Roku Premium next tongue.gif
*
Used to be on Unifi 10Mbps and was able to get 1080p without struggles.. Of course, content starts playing at SD quality, then ramps up to 1080p.. Then stays there till end. I do have a healthy network and internet connection to TV is via an Ethernet cable to the router direct..

Can't speak for Tizen, cuz using the older OS...Smart Hub. Netflix app works superbly on it.. No additional device required.

QUOTE(skylinelover @ Jul 16 2017, 10:22 PM)
How about unifi lite? laugh.gif hmm.gif
*
10 Mbps should be enough. Having a healthy network is more important... Don't expect steady 1080p if network is congested and or too busy doing other internet heavy tasks on other devices.

I just moved to a new place and I can't get Netflix to work for me on my Sony Smart TV. Previously it was working fine at my old house. It works fine on other devices (phone, tablet, etc.) at my new house though.

I get error nw-4-7 when I connect. It's a new unifi connection...do I need to change some settings within my router for Netflix to work on my TV?
*
Start with:
*Signing out or deactivating your account on the app. Place TV into standby mode then power off completely, pull the plug from behind the TV too.. Wait.. While waiting, Also unplug the TM router and modem.. Give about 5 minutes, then plug router and modem back... Let it boot fully till confirmed internet access. Connect TV directly to the router via ethernet cable. Plug TV back in and switch on. Try the Netflix app again.. Login..

*If the above still doesn't work.. Redo the steps but reset the TV firmware first.

Hi bro, thanks for the tip but I've spent an hour with 3 different Netflix customer support personnel yesterday and I've tried all that you recommended.

I think my problem is that I cannot sign out or deactivate Netflix from my Sony TV (KDL-48W600B). When I get the error message and click on "More Details", I can only "Reset" the app which gives me the error again. There's no "Sign Out" or "Deactivate" option for me. Even when I do the "up, up, down, down, left, right, etc." thing I don't get the pop-up to sign out or deactivate.

I have reset my TV to factory settings but then it doesn't log me out of my Netflix account, which is weird. Factory settings should wipe out all personal/login details.  Anybody know how to do clear data/cache with this TV model? There's no option to install/reinstall the app on this TV.

I've also checked that the TV firmware is latest and Netflix SDK version is latest.
*
hmm.gif Done a fair bit of troubleshooting I see.. Yeah, it is weird that a factory reset doesn't truly factory reset the device. How about you try switching regions.? For most Samsung TVs one is able to switch regions and gain specific app versions that my be unable if left at Malaysian region.

Sad, it used to work fine for me at my old house with no problem. Now suddenly got problem sad.gif

What brand TV do you recommend for Netflix?
*
I'd say, get a Samsung.. Alternatively, there's Google chromecast.

Yeah, it's been bugging me for the past few days. When I call Netflix, they say it's the ISP's fault it's not a stable line so they ask me to reset the my connection from ISP side (don't really understand). When I asked Unifi to do this, it still didn't work.

I can't even get iFlix to work as well (refer to this THREAD). So can only watch HyppTV crappy channels now  bangwall.gif

Scared to buy new TV in case it still won't work! Could it be router issue?
*
Could be the router.. Could be the device as well... Typically with such services and hardware, compatibility is key. My TV is a 2014 Samsung set running the older Smart Hub OS.. Watching Netflix right now.. Smooth 1080p with DD5.1 to Samsung HT (also 2014 set).. Unifi 30Mbps + stock TM router.. Cable connections to TV, HT & Minix Android box... Zero issues on media playbacks of any kind.

I noticed in the other thread that you own the MiBox and tried iflix on it and the TM supplied STB box.. On both boxes, it's public knowledge how much I despise them.. puke.gif .. So unfortunately, you may be looking at getting another device.. a proper one. Got budget? Grab the Nvidia Shield (undisputed champion).. It'll do Netflix @ 4K HDR bla bla and a bunch of other media playback goodies.. Want something on the simpler and cheaper side primarily for Netflix/Hulu, etc? Grab a Chromecast.

thanks for your understanding. i also used to sail the vast ocean as a pirate during my study days when money are tight. but now, i have budget allocation to support legal streaming. that's why i asked in this thread. nevermind, will wait until it came out sometime this year. a lot more flix to catch up. peace!

No problemo...Figured that's the scenario given that majority of the show's followers would have already seen the 4th season earlier in the year when it released. Currently foaming at the mouth, hoping season 5 is planned and released. Probably in 2018 (given past release dates). Personally, I'm kinda in-between at the moment. Sailing as a pirate primarily at night just to stick it to the man. Else, I purchase legit copies and always go see movies at the cinemas when they launch. Still own a Netflix account at least 5 years now, so figured, been paying some of my dues.. tongue.gif ..

Looking forward to Defenders too... Death Note? doesn't ring a bell, so we'll see. As for Ozark, hmmm.. Just 2 episodes in, but yeah, seems to be going in the right direction.

Usually if it's Netflix original series/movies, it will be available here same day as US
as Netflix themselves own the copyrights, they can bloody broadcast in any country they want

Buddy, looks like you failed to account for the fact that there are countries who won't allow certain content in cuz power and sex. In which case, original content or not, can still get banned or watered down.

I've been having trouble getting my Sony Smart TV to work with Netflix after moving to my new home. The only way to fix it is to deactivate/sign-out from my Netflix but the TV won't allow me to do it.

I want to get a new TV so I was wondering if Android TV have the option of uninstalling/reinstalling apps.
*
On my Samsung, there's a certain code keypress that immediately does the signing out or deactivating. Try googling for it and if it'll work on yours. Since you mentioned getting a new TV, I'm assuming you plan on getting rid of the current one and worried about your login credentials, there's factory reset for that.
