QUOTE(DS_Legacy @ Apr 3 2016, 02:42 AM) Hi! Hope my amateur suggestions will help a bit. Who told you the dell 7559 has.90 % srgb color gamut ?If I assume sRGB colour profile is the your accuracy measurements, you can either go with MSI PE60 or Dell Inspiron 7559. Both laptops basically fulfilled your requirement in the term of screen size, storage and the powerful processor. Both has the empty M.2 slot which allows you to upgrade it with SSD. But if you do not mind the lower battery life of the MSI PE60, do consider to get it over the Dell 7559. Although both models come with the FHD 15.6" screen, the MSI one offers a screen with a much better sRGB score (PE60=97%, 7559=90%). All thanks to the examination and an extensive factory calibration process by MSI True Color Technology, the panel quality is very accurate. Not much panel scores more than 97% sRGB. And also, it comes with 6 True Color Profile that you can choose to suit your eyes in different scenarios, be it gaming, graphic work and etc. PE60 is also cheaper than the 7559, and you can use the rest of the money to upgrade the RAM/SSD. Happy hunting! MSI PE60 6QE-208MY Prestige 15.6" Laptop/ Notebook (i7-6700HQ, 8GB, 1TB, NV GTX960M, W10H) Dell Inspiron 15 7559-70814G-W10 15.6" Laptop/ Notebook (i7-6700HQ, 8GB, 1TB, 8G Cache, NV GTX960M, W10H) |

QUOTE(DS_Legacy @ Apr 2 2016, 02:35 AM) Hi, hope my amateur comments can help a bit. Thanks for the input. Have relayed the information to my nephew - now he needs to hunt around.Set A Yes, Guilds War 2 is kinda demanding. With your current budget, the best graphic card that you probably can get is GT930M which can run the game at low settings with 50+FPS IINM. Hence, not much choices. But feel free to check out the two laptops below. They are less than 2.2k and weigh around 2kg too. Asus A456U-FWX023T A-Series 14" Laptop/ Notebook (i5-6200U, 4GB, 1TB, NV GT930M, W10H) Asus A455LF-WX063T A-Series 14" Laptop/ Notebook (i5-5200U, 4GB, 1TB, NV GT930M, W10H) Set B Although Illustrator and PS deal with graphic work, the CPU is always more important in this case. Core M might not be very good for PS and Illustrator, the rendering time will be longer and not that smooth. However, the integrated graphics should suffice imho. The 515 can run D3 in high settings for about 30+ FPS, so no worries about that. May I know what do you mean by a good screen? If you do not mind a TN screen that appears to be slightly bluish-tinted, i would suggest you to go for the Lenovo U41-70. 1.7kg with decent battery life (around 6 hours). The latest price I saw was 2.95k with 2 years warranty. Despite the bad aftersales service by Lenovo, this model is one of the best products by Lenovo imho. Should be good enough for all your game, graphic and Auto-CAD work. And it comes with full SSD performance too. Lenovo U41-70 80JV00HBMJ 14" Laptop/ Notebook (i7-5500U, 4GB, 256GB SSD, NV N16V-GM, W10H) With regards to the PS and Illustrator...I was told as much by a friend of mine. Seems like I assumed that since it worked with graphics, that's the only one of importance. Guess gotta check if it's still a good idea. UX305 might not be such a good idea anymore Good screen? Well, as long as things look pretty? Lol. I'm not in the imaging/photography business, so I don't need accurate colour reproduction. PS and Illustrator will be for my "hobby" or very minor work stuff. Read a bit on the U41-70... I must say that I'm quite impressed. Price is on the low side and it seems to fit the bill. Only drawback is that the reviews (more than one site) say the screen isn't up to par. Some even said that the screen easily breaks. On a different note, what are your thoughts on the Asus K401? After reading around in the forum, Asus kinda scares me though Also is a Lenovo's keyboard still better than any other out there? (Bar a mac). That's a huge bonus if the keyboard is good. I need to go out and check it out myself soon. Thanks again ya |
