i took a look at 330x and i really like their PQ
i dont have the opportunity to test 630x and 330x side by side but since people in here said that 630x PQ more good than 330x, i might get 630x
anyone in here ever bought from this seller? seems it more cheaper than others seller sold
are they selling demo unit?

get into the details and see who is the actual seller.

if it is a reputable retailer, no need to worry.

u may even be able to contact them, ask questions before u make the order.

they will deliver themselves, install.

i bought this tv >1 yr ago this way, no problem.

Typically, the high-end models do support H.265 playback.. Always consult the manual. Most manufacturers allow free and easy download of a TV model's manual.

is h264 or h265 a coding compression format more relevant to the player or the tv?

say, if a box player can decode h265, it will ok to display on any 1080p tv, right?

the next sharp 4k hdr models should be coming later this year.

from the glimpse of the USA models (hisense rebranded sharp), it's not all that great - no more androidtv!

but... will it be the same or diff outside USA?
http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subac...l&id=1484549330

so, before the ue630x is taken off, maybe interested parties should consider seriously since the price is now at its lowest. biggrin.gif

Both are compression formats and rely on processing power to get "uncompressed". Why the newer H.265 format is important, is cuz one can get the same amount of video and audio signals in significantly less space (reports says reduction in size by half) than H.264 provides. This is good as 8K is around the corner and 4K is already large enough.

Yes, the primary purpose of a TV is to act as a display for incoming signals (A/V). Today, those signals are mostly digital. Hardware decoding of H.265 files requires much higher processing power than H.264 and most TVs do not ship with such processing power. Else one would simply play via USB and allow the TV to handle everything.. But if a media player that packs adequate processing power, does the hardware processing and simply sends the A/V signals to the TV, the TV reproduces the exact same results....as it would, were the TV equipped with more powerful hardware and compatible firmware.
*
ya, that's what i mean - if a box player can handle h265, any tv can display. no need power tv. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Lurker @ Jan 18 2017, 02:57 PM)
Any new TV supports the latest HEVC format?
*
re above, if u r asking if this sharp ue630x can usb playback h265, answer is yes.
kodi installed in the tv can also handle h265.

other tv usb playback, u need to check at the other tv brand/model threads.

does it support .srt subtitles direct play from pendrive/hdd?
*
yes.

BUT... the usb drive is sensitive to certain types of HDD and pendrives, formats, partitions, etc.

it does not read if "lousy drive" or too many files/folder names.

can power on/off the TV, try again; can use es file explorer or kodi to play too... that sort of thing.

in short, the USB playback function is NOT great.

best not to rely on it, use a separate box player if u have.

remember - this is a TV, not a media player, not a pc.

TV makers make good tv's, not media players - and they should.

which media player should i buy that can easily handle everything without any limitation?

every box has its limits and price is always a factor.

what player are u using now?

what files do u play usually?

at the moment im using my pc to watch movies.
so everytime i got a new movies to watch, my family would go to my room upstair to watch movies hence i make a decision to buy a tv for them.
now im just waiting my 630x arrive.
usually i download remux movie (.mkv) where the size above 20gb and sometime i download hevc@h265 format if my hdd space running low.
since you said that tv not all hdd/pendrive can read, that's why i make an early plan to buy android box if that tv not support my hdd.
my max budget would be 400.
*
ok, for your case, i suggest u wait for the tv to arrive first.

play yr hdd with the tv usb, see how u like or dislike it.

if happy, good.

if not, read and get ideas in this thread:
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3126605/+4360

what u describe, most current android boxes can do the job - .mkv's, hevc265, 4k.

just u check the specs.

android boxes are fairly mature now, with some as low as rm200 and as high as >rm1k.

the premium ones will have newer android versions, better video and audio codecs for media playback, continuous firmware support and more reliable hardware.

but such a box is not just for playback, it is actually made primarily for online streaming if u hv good internet speed. then again, the tv itself also has a good google androidtv inside. so, it is up to u whether to get a separate box now or later.

lastly, if u have used an android phone or tablet, they all work the same since they are using google android. but if all new to it, will take time to learn how to use it well. it is quite diff from pc windows.

Noted LC58UE630x has been discontinued in Malaysia and replaced with LC60UE630X. Noted the key different is new 60 inch backlight system using Edge LED while 58 inch using LED.

May I know what is major  impact of using Edge LED? My understanding using LED would give better contrast while using Edge LED basically is because of cost cutting?

Thanks
*
usually, it' easy to say this good or no good based on specs, reviews and "OPC" - other people's comments.

if i were u, i will visit the shops and see with my own eyes.

more impt, compare to other models for the same video.

compare prices too.

if it is poor, u will know; if it is good, u will know too.

if u can't tell, better buy something MUCH cheaper!

at the end of the day - whatever u buy, trust your own eyes and yr own wallet becos it's yours, not other people's! biggrin.gif

Bro, not able to compare two models side by side in most of the shop as 58" is a discontinued model ... only managed to find May be last few units online and most of the shop still not displaying 60" model sad.gif

Buying decision basibg on review in the net and my physical sight
view on 50" model against other brands, hope not making super wrong decision with the amount of money that I am willing to spend ...

Thanks

ue630x was a 2015 model, no surprise it is at tail end, prices at its lowest.

unless u get a lemon unit, pretty sure u will be happy with it.

esp if u are an androidtv user.

i have used this tv for >1yr now, made many comments about it in this thread.

can check them! biggrin.gif

The new generation of OLED TV should be cheaper than the current one, hopefully the price is attractive
*
this OLED...

seems everyone gas only great things to say about it.

but, what i read... it's organic, life of the some colors are short... degrades after 1,000 hours... suffers from burn-in like early plasma tv... and very expensive.

and why is LG the only brand selling OELD tv's now? hmm.gif

Theoretically, Yes... View for confirmation.  smile.gif
New Gen OLED TVs should progressively get cheaper as current manufacturers attempt to squash more bugs and manufacturing costs (R & D included) are reduced. Thanks to early adopters. IMO, price still isn't attractive to the average consumer.. At least, Malaysia... What with our RM..  laugh.gif
OLED offers better image quality (think blacker blacks and brighter whites), reduced power consumption and fast response times over traditional LED TVs. AFAIK, LG & Panasonic have been leading. Sony has very recently (2017) dabbled into it, with the release of the Sony Bravia A1E OLED TV.
*
like new tech, early users pay for it...

what i read, it is not mature, still early.

there is also AMOLED and ULED now!

It should.. Deeper blacks and brighter whites. As for the price, a decent 55" 1080P TV cost around that price, just a few years ago.. I would know, I bought one back then..
My home minister holds that over my head today and refuses to approve a new TV set + sound system revamp as a key point in the 2017 budget.. I agree.. biggrin.gif
*
i actually think it's a good time to renew/replace old equipment now.

not premium latest tech stuff but the mature, proven models.

with RM continuing to be so dem weak, all Jap and even china imports will get a hefty price hike anytime now.

Dear bros, any recommendation on these 3 models? SHARP LC65UE630X, LG 65UH770T and Samsung 65 UA65KU6000.

Cheapest is samsung, then sharp then LG is most expensive. all in the range of 4k to 6k plus and all in my budget.

I check out in the store harvey norman but I couldn't decide which to pick up. My concern is more to beautiful 4K display smile.gif and watching football every weekend.

this thread is dedicated to sharp ue630x.

for comments on other brands, best u read other threads - "what tv do i buy" - many of them, a new thread almost every week. just check the list of threads.

without using 60fps option there is no stuttering problem at all but since all the HD option has 60fps i had to watch in 480p to avoid stuttering issue.
im using unifi 50mbps
*
does this happen to all 2160p 60fps videos on youtube or just the gaming ones?

other than that dont have any stuttering problem even in 60fps option

Then it is probably a video source issue.

But you check with others using other 4k tv brands n models, see if they experience same with same youtube video.

My standard USB Male to female extension konk liao. Can i get this cable to watch 4K video from HDD?  Is 5 Gbps fast enough for 4K video?

http://www.lazada.com.my/ugreen-usb-30-mal...l-10482484.html
*
The native player in the tv CANNOT handle 4k videos.

It can take 4k videos if it is processed by another player, say a 4k capable android box, input to tv with hdmi.

As for the extension, it will be fine.

if u were able to play 4k with usb via kodi 16.1 in the tv, any new extension cable should be fine.

i m about to test same with kodi 17.0 - 4k, 10 bit, hevc265... biggrin.gif
