I experienced an unauthorized transaction in my CIMB CashRebate. I called cs, been told have to pay for new card. Then I question and complain. Then I receive a new card, with new number, and no charge.

nowadays bank want to lock you with their cc only by providing you high credit limit. if you don't need such high cl, do request them to reduce it. otherwise, it will affect your other cc application and/or loan application.

i too reduced my CL, but before that cs warned me after reduce if want to increase need to submit back income documents laugh.gif

The cash rebate from CIMB cash rebate follow calendar month or statement month?

Prefer maybank style, paid on the 1st of each month, you know its for previous month.

Statement date because everyone's statement date is the same - 28th of the month.

8. How are my Cash Rebate calculated?
All Cash Rebates earned in the “current month statement” will be posted in the “next month statement” under their respective Cash Rebate categories.

Example:-
John had received his credit card statement dated 28th July 2015, of which Cash Rebate earned in the 28th July 2015 statement will only be posted and reflected in the next month statement i.e. 28th August 2015.

CIMB finally sent me the cash rebate mastercard after 1.5 months. I really thought it was rejected and didn't bother to check with them! Problem is I'm now overseas and will not be back to m'sia for another 5 months. Anyone knows if they allow me to leave the card unactivated until 5 months later?

Why take it so long? I called CIMB that the approval should be less than 10 working days

I doubt so.

Cards issued without being activated with weeks would be blocked already, I think.
You should call / write to the bank in regard to your long term absence.

Is there anyway to expedite the linking of my credit card to my CIMB Clicks account? It's been a week and it's still not linked yet.

Customer Service is not being helpful at all, the answer they gave me is "nothing we can do, just wait" or "create a new CIMB Clicks account for your credit card"

I find it ridiculous that they can approve and send the card to me within a week but takes them so long just to do the linking doh.gif
