how do i appeal? call the bank?
*
Yes, ask CS if you can appeal for your recent rejection. Ask if they need any further documents or anything.

Note: If only you fulfill the requirements, then can try since you are think it should be OK.

Quick question guys, if I want to cancel a credit card do I need to settle all the bill first? Can I cancel then settle it later?
*
You can call to cancel first and settle the bill when statement is out but bear in mind for cards which give cash back, probably after cancelled, you will not get any cash back. Keyword: Probably.

hey guys,

I bought an item online with credit card worth RM300 and after 10 days the seller inform me no stock. He ask me if it's okay if he refund. He say refund into credit card will take 7-14 working days. I say ok la.

But then i think, now my cc statement is coming on 23/7/16 with the RM300 already billed. How now? Pay the RM300 for a product i did not receive? Should i call bank or what?
*
You have to pay for it. The refund will come in later, and will offset with your future purchase.
Else, when the refund comes in, call bank and ask if can offset against the statement amount.

I had refund before too but because I still use the card, so let it offset my future purchases while I pay that amount first to avoid any interest due to shortpayment.

Just a question, what would be the card to use when overseas?

I currently have the M2C Plat, UOB One, CIMB Plat, AmBank WMC / VI, PBB VS ...
*
Well, it depends on your needs.
CIMB has one of the best exchange rates.
AmBank WMC/VI gives RM1 = 5X AmBonus Points for overseas spend and 5,000 AmBonus points = 1,000 Air Miles.

Got a call offering CIMB CR Platinum card and somehow my details were given to them when company switched to CIMB to bank in salary. Declined but caller persisted saying they'll send the card to workplace anyway.

So they can push cards now? Don't know of I need another CR card. You guys (and girls) get this often?
*
If you want to be nasty, can complain to BNM. They cannot do this.
That aside, CIMB CR is quite a useful card. biggrin.gif

Sounded really eager that I have that. I was in the middle of work and figured I could cancel (or not activate) after I received it.

Will read up more tomorrow and see if I have a need for another Ikhwan-similar xD

It's useful for online transactions. smile.gif

Some banks will penalize you for early settlement. So, please check with your bank directly regarding this.

Hi , i am maybank visa debit card user ~

i would like to ask a question , i am planning to cancel my maybank visa debit card ASAP , and may i know , is there any CHARGE or FEE that i need to pay to close my maybank account and deactivate my visa debit card ??

anyone can confirm my question above ?

thank you =p
*
Why need to close it? You just simply put the debit transaction limit to 0 and you can use it as an ATM card. I have a debit card but never activate anything for debit purchases, I'm only using it as my ATM card.

No charges to close or deactivate debit card.

The reason is.  I have 4 bank account , and I would like to make it two only .
I think my maybank is no longer need to use it any more , so I would like to just close it and deactivate my visa debit @.@
My account is more than a year and the visa debit is more than a year too, so there should be no any charge right If I close and deactivate my visa debit ?
*
I see. I have more than 4 bank savings accounts too. tongue.gif Undeniably still Maybank is the most convenient among all my banks, convenience for ATMs. I will rather close others than Maybank. tongue.gif

Yes, should be OK.

Yup,
It's a Usual Practice of Bank they want to make sure the Applicant got a Stable job with Ability to repay Debt 1st, only they grant you a Credit Card.
*
It is not a standard practice. Some only requires 3 months payslip.

Anyone know how long I should wait after I activate my Citibank credit card before I can start using it for instalment plan? I tried calling the customer service but it's always end up with pre-recorded message no matter which button I picked. Is there any ways to directly speak with a customer representative or something? Why so difficult to speak to them???
*
You can use it immediately if they have installment plans.

Really? Maybank credit card needs to wait for 24 hours before you can use it to purchase something with instalment plan. For other normal purchase, you can use it immediately.
*
Er. If your installment is a conversion from normal purchase to installment, I don't see why not. You charge like normal to credit card, then call CS to convert for you to installment. Usually it takes few days to be reflected on the unbilled transactions. Or yours is direct conversion from the merchant you purchase from?

Sorry, my last installment was at least 4-5 years ago, it's better you check with CS.

Could someone help. I tried to pay TNB Bill via uob payonline. But the new TNB Bill has different account number- only contain 12 digits which is different with previous one 14 digits. Hence Payonline says invalid account number....
*
Then just use back the old account no.? It still can be accepted by TNB until mid of Oct. I paid mine with old account no. on 1st August via UOBPayOnline too.

cybpsych called UOBPayOnline CS before and they said their system is already up and ready for 12-digit account no. If it's not working for you, please call and inform them too.

So long prompt payment, it should be OK but again it is really up to banks to approve or not.
Maybe you can run CCRIS report to check out your record?
