Hi All, is that have a new rules that cannot have more then 2 CC at the same time?
*
It is not a new rule. Already existed back in 2011. However, it only applies for those with annual income of RM 36k and below, they cannot have more than two issuing banks' cards. For e.g., you can have few HLB cards and few UOB cards even below RM 36k, because still two issuing banks, not two cards actually.

Thanks for your reply. My annual In come is more then 36k and currently only have 2 CC. Did try apply for Maybank Ammex card but been rejected. haiz.
*
There are many factors which affect the credit card application actually, not only because of income.
Have you tried checking your CCRIS especially if you have PTPTN?

I did not apply any PTPTN, the only loan I have is House and Car loan. My CC outstanding always clear every 2weeks.
*
Maybe your commitment is too high vs income? Not sure. First step, to check out your CCRIS score.

Can I know how to check my CCRIS score? Must went to Bank Negara?
*
Easiest is to go to Bank Negara as it is a kiosk, you just need to insert your MyKad and scan thumbprint then you will get it instantly. Else, you can request. http://creditbureau.bnm.gov.my/reportobtain.html

Hi everyone, I remember that was a thread provides a sample email/letter to request for increasing the credit limit - Does anyone still remember? Can you show me the link?

Thank you very much.
*
Just a simple note saying you want to request for credit limit increase and hope they will consider. Attach 3 months latest payslip, that's all.

Fruitie, no offense but I would have done that if it's simple note. I prefer something more official and formal letter because my case is abit tricky.
*
Then you gotta draft it yourself. I don't see any draft in this section. We just send them a simple email with latest 3 months payslip. Good luck. biggrin.gif

It's been years I've stayed away from applying credit card.

Recently, there are a lot of HSBC promoters promoting their credit cards at Midvalley, the procedure was easy, only put my MyKad in a device just to generate my EPF statement for application and the next thing I knew, it got approved.

My question is, is there any other CC application that easy? Just only use my IC/MyKad.

I would like to try.
*
I know AEON, RHB and even some Maybank branches too. These days almost every bank and agent has the EPF machine.

But it wasn't me!

The poor victim is then left saddled with sky-high debts..."

Maybank did offer me credit card, but asking me to submit payslips and all. I think it's very convenient these days to apply a credit card or loan without any physical documents
*
Not all. They do have the rights to ask for documents from you even they have printed your documents from the machine.
I know HSBC in MV is like permanently there and applied once back in 2014, didn't like the card as it has a lot of hidden T&C for me, got it approved and cancelled it not long after that. Well, that time I wasn't really into CC stuff yet. laugh.gif

I've only known that the annual fee waiver is somehow problematic. That aside HSBC is promoting personal loan up to 10k with 0% interest if you eligible for their credit card.

I'm just want to test my salary/loan commitment market, how far they can push the credit limit for me. That's why I'm asking where I could get those credit card without any hassle.
*
0%? Are you really sure? That's really amazing if it really is. I'm sure all the big bosses here will grab and put in whatever FD and investment stuff that they have. Heck, I will too. However, I can't seem to find it from their website... Any clue? unsure.gif

Edit: I found it: https://sp.hsbc.com.my/10k?WABFormEntryComm...YH_GETITNOW_LPR
Will read further. biggrin.gif

Yes but maximum 10k only, need to pay back in 15 months.

Not bad at all. I will take that and dump in FD but limited to 6780 units. hmm.gif
Anyway, thanks for sharing. I had nightmare with HSBC and will try to avoid it.

RM0.00 OCBC: Sorry, your credit card waiver request is unsuccessful. Pls make payment before your statement due date if you have not done so. Thank you.

365 waiver request rejected. Time to say goodbye to OCBC after so many years.  bye.gif

I converted from OCBC GE Plat to OCBC 365 since the cash back will be ceased effective September 1st, unfortunately, my waiver request was declined too. So, I called to cancel as I haven't activated anything. It is already removed from my OCBC page.

is it legal for shops to charge consumers 2% service charge as we all know that merchant fees have been lowered recently with the new rules introduced by BNM? if it's not legal, is there any proper channel to submit complaints about those shops that simply charge the 2% service charge?

Just want to get some feedback on this.
*
Not legal. You can complain to bank and also BNM.

I haven't faced for restaurants. So far I face the most from camera and computer shops. mad.gif Even some big shops in Low Yat Plaza charge the customers for paying CC. dry.gif

Recently I applied the ocbc ge card one day before they revised the benefit. I wonder can I just call them to cancel my card without going to their branch to collect my card? I think no point drive all the way just to collect the unused card.  hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
Yes just call and tell them, not interested anymore. They are quite efficient in removing. laugh.gif

QUOTE(HMMaster @ Sep 2 2016, 08:51 PM)
Currently looking at 2 of their cards, 365 and the World Mastercard. Both offer tiered cash rebates, which seems to be one of the highest for general retail spending. (no special category, minimum spending, etc) Anyone using them? Any drawbacks?

OCBC 365
Tier 1 - 0-1000 - 1%
Tier 2 - >1000 - 0.5% (No cap)

OCBC World Mastercard
Tier 1 - 0-1000 - 1.2%
Tier 2 - >1000 - 0.6% (No cap)

Another question, is it easy to waive AF?
*
I wanted to convert from my existing GE Plat to 365, everything was OK and they even sent me the card as well. Unfortunately, AF was charged immediately. I called in for waiver, received SMS on the next day that it's not successful. Immediately called them to cancel it as I haven't activated it.

Only if you are totally new to OCBC, you will get first year free AF, else no chance to waive at all. Based on a few forummers' feedback as well.

CIMB cardholders,

So I have my cards sent to my home address and just got to activate them few days back. How long do I have to wait for it to show up in CIMBClicks? Or will it ever?
*
Mine shown before even it reached me. Heard you will need to link it yourself. You may want to search in CIMB thread.
