DIY-ed sekalian. I noticed something yesterday. The VG I bought from Flavorist is thicker and sweeter than the one I bought from Vapeq. Is it me or memang like that?
*
It's not you. The density, viscosity and taste/sweetness levels of PG/VG can vary from supplier to supplier. Once you find a few good and honest sellers, stick to them. If you're particular about flavor, it pays to test-vape some pure PG/VG with each new batch. Over time, your taste buds will tell u what's good, what's not so good and you'll be able to adjust levels of sweetener vis-a-vis your VG sweetness levels. If u want put a figure on things for greater accuracy, then you'll have to look into using stuff like a hydrometer, rotational viscometer and refractometer/brixmeter.

Ahh. Normally I put a drop on my finger and test with my tongue. I guess I will test pure VG or PG on dripper next time as well to really find out the differences. But.... whats the definition of good PG and VG? My first purchase is from a bakery and it feels pepperish, second purchase from Flavorist which taste sweet and thick whilst the third purchase from Vapeq it taste less sweet, less thick and somehow taste clean. I really don't know how to explain. LoL
*
Pepperish-tasting VG/PG? That may be good for a black pepper chicken/steak flavor juice biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif But I'd stay away from stuff like that.

If I encounter a runny VG, I'd be reaching for a hydrometer. Assuming you tested/tasted the various VG's at the same temperature, I'd reject the less thick one. I don't want to cast any shadows over someone's business, but a "clean" tasting and thin VG may be the result of dilution. Such adulteration may not necessarily be on purpose, and could stem from improper storage. Glycerol is hygroscopic and is also used as a humectant. In our high humidity climate, an uncovered container of the stuff would be gobbling up moisture from the air. If I wanna add water to help smooth out a juice, I'd rather use DIY distilled water, not ambient humidity! Stick with the sweeter and thicker stuff.

guys i need review on the rulo rx200, cash ready to go get it right now but my vapey senses are telling me to hold on, anyone who got it?, how is it?, worth the buy?

i got quoted rm190 for the mod
*
I love the design of that mod...but am holding off on getting one for the time being. Have seen 2 units being returned at the vape shops I hang out at, one about 10 days ago and another yesterday. Both had the same problem: insert the batts and the front panel gets warm, then warmer, then hot but the batts stay relatively cooler. This does not happen to all the units though, and may just be isolated cases. I do not know whether it's a mfg defect in certain units or caused by user error/abuse/unmarried batteries.

After I saw and handled that 2nd defective unit last night, I searched around and found this vid on youtube...it showed the same hot problem at 3min 30sec. Hopefully it's not a widespread prob but all the same I think I'll wait a bit longer.

its because of this vid im thinking twice, but i just love the ergonomic design and triple batts , oh well, i'll wait..

Hopefully in due time they'll improve on the electronics' reliability, as well as the paint quality cos it's really very thin and easily scratched. The best would be a plain frosted aluminium finish or a thicker rubberized coating, and maybe someone will bring in silicone sleeves for it soon. I really want one! smile.gif

guys does anyone here ever taste soyabean ice juice.
can give some feedback on the taste.
making my own soya.
just dont know whats the mix.

thinking adding sweet cream , vanilla and honey dew.
*
http://www.matrix.net.my/ has soya bean and soya milk flavorings. I do not know if they're ok to vape though. Better u contact them and ask. U may also wanna check out their sugar cane flavor...if added to sucralose and a touch of ethyl maltol, it could help duplicate the "tau foo fah hawker" style syrup. Vape safe!

definitely getting it tho, the jaybo name on fire button really got me, and i read in reddit or somewhere its cause of the joyetech chip thats problematic and stuff but hey if it really was a faulty product the vape scene would have exploded with rants,

offtopic what tank should i pair it with, was eyeing on tfv4, my local vape store guy said tfv4 is not really a good tank in terms of recoiling or rewicking, idk lol im still noob
*
Speaking of reddit and explosions... https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigaret...vape_store_wtf/ Dunno what went on there, but the TS seems to have deleted his post. Could be a hoax or a trollthread.

My daily tank is the TFV4, with 2 units dual coil RBAs. It's not hard to coil and wick but for someone just starting out, there IS a learning curve but it's not steep. Richard Ng called it an intermediate level kind of atty, and I agree with him. If you're willing to put in 15-20min of time and effort (and prepared for the possibility of a leak or two), it is definitely do-able for a beginner. As long as you get the right amount of cotton (snug but not too tight) into the coils and give the wick ends a simple "bowl" style haircut, you're good to go! Caveat: Some of the o-rings of the TFV4 are sheer crap. be prepared to get spare ones made of tougher nitrile rubber. I just finished swapping RBAs and rewicking the spare one:
user posted image

You may also want to consider the Zephyrus v2 as it's deck has 4 post-holes which makes for an easier time building than the TFV4; the top-fill method is also rather nifty! I may get one next month...my vape-gear budget for Dec has already been expended after I bought other stuff instead of the RX200.

already have the flavorings.
just dont know the recipe.
btw i tot tau fuu fah with brown sugar. or caramel.
*
Out of curiosity who makes the soy milk flavoring, is it safe to vape and how much does the MOQ cost?

Note that I was referring to emulating a hawker-style cane-sugar SYRUP. Tau foo fah can also be served with brown/ palm sugar/caramel SAUCES. There's no hard and fast rule.

The thickness of VG can also change depending on the heat that it has been exposed to. Some people leave VG under the sun to make it more diluted before brewing. If you're using heat to dilute VG, it will still be sweet despite not being as thick as it used to be. If you're buying pure VG, it should be think and sweet in taste. But if it's not so thick and not that sweet, it could also be AG (Aqueous Glycerine). AG sometimes is also used in brews and it's also safe to consume as it's just mixed with distilled or de-ionised water. The ratio of AG is 85% VG 15% water. Vodka can also replaced with water in making AG which will help in giving a little throat hit if you're making max VG juice.
*
1) Heat & VG thickness- That's why I wrote "Assuming you tested/tasted the various VG's at the same temperature,", in case u didn't notice.

2) Exposing VG to sunlight does NOT make it "diluted". When VG is heated by the sun or any other heat source, its viscosity increases.

3) We were talking about VG, not AG. If one buys a product labelled as Vegetable Glycerine and finds it thinner and less sweet as the normal product, it's just wrong, plain and simple.

Hello all sifu, first of all congrats on v31.. And because it's v31, I'm sorry i can't read all the story. Actually, I'm just a beginner, opps, maybe can only say wannabe.. Cos i want to get myself a vape set, but don't know what to look for.. Previously i had one experience of using ego vape only.. But it's not performing lar.. Now want to buy one, but there is so many brands in market, so many specs.. So, to make my life simpler, i wonder if there's any sifu here can terus recommend me which brand or model is worth buy.. Worth means, of course i would like it cheap and affordable, but also have to balance out the safety and durability.. So, sifu sifu, please enlighten me.. What should i concern when buying vape set? Also, those e-liquid, how do i know it's a safe to consume wan? Do they come with cert? Tvm
*
I'm not a sifu, and will never be a sifu so I hope u don't mind me replying.

Please go to the first post in this thread and read the section titled "Guide to Vape Safe!!" (sic)

My first e-cig was in 2009 and I've never used a current starter kit before, so I can't recommend u any from personal experience.
What I can do to help is suggest 2 good mods which are reasonably priced: the IPV 4s and the Joyetech Evic VTC mini. Use them properly and they'll serve you well. Whichever mod you buy, I strongly suggest that it has removable batteries (easier for u if u have to take a plane ride), and that the firmware can be upgraded (so that you won't be stuck in a dead-end).

Quality batteries and a reliable charger are also important.

There's a huge range of tanks and drippers out there for u to choose from. If you have vaper friends, ask them to let you try what they have and see if it suits you taste. For me, a good tank/dripper is one which can produce good vapor and decent flavor without having to resort to fancy coils or drilling holes (but fancy coils can be fun at times!).

With regard to e-liquids, you'll get better surety of safety if you mix your own because it's still a jungle out there in terms of regulation and safety standards. Fakes of name-brand juices are known to exist too.

It's to your advantage to find a vape shop owner who can guide u responsibly and make sensible recommendations for all your vaping needs ( and not try to sell u the slow-moving products). If you're near SS15 SUbang Jaya and have some time, pop into Vape Empire; they'll be happy to answer your questions on vaping and there's no obligation to buy anything. I can recommend that place because I've seen and heard them treat customers very decently before.

I'd sub out the caramel with TFA Original Caramel but ofc that's just my personal taste. DX is safer, no duuh there but also taste shitty. Kinda remind me of a popular gambit recipe floating around. Been wanting to mix it but eh seems like I always miss one or two flavouring when I wanted to
*
Am in total agreement with you about Caramel (Original). Versons of Gambit made with DX (while not exactly shitty) won't be as close to the real thing, just weaker and thinner-tasting. YOLO!

andyng38 and making me regret purchasing a second D2 instead of eVic mini. Well... not really more like a lil envious. Curse you P4U and your affordable yet un-upgrade-able mod.
*
If it makes u feel better my IPV4s still has no new firmware since the middle of the year despite being upgradeable, and I'll prolly just go back to plain old power mode once I get bored of playing with the evic mini's temp control biggrin.gif

But if u want one, shopee'll have a new year sale soon...who knows what bargains await us then?? moneyflies.gif

Nope, never tried it. Only had real cigars before on two or three occasions. Saw your post and recalled reading about that e-cigar some time ago, so I posted the link in case you still wanted to quit tobacco. BTW I think u should have gone for a 12mg strength of a cigar-extracted e-juice; that would have been a more accurate replacement for real cigars.

If it's any comfort to you, I know of vape shops selling it for as high as RM160-170, no discount. What to do lah...brick & mortar shops have higher costs than online shops.

My favourite atty was feeling lonely....so I bought a TFV4 from him...RM70 including shipping. He'll send tomorrow.
