I have to agree with you. Mini gob's flavor is better, and easier to find the sweet spot settings for most juices. However with a bit of tweaking, the TFV4 can come close to (but will never beat) mini gob's flavor production.

OK Good luck!! Try varying the airflow/number of coil wraps/wattage. Higher watts does not always equate to better or more distinct/pronounced flavor. Some of the pipe and cigar tobacco blends I'm working on now do better at 22-23W, and some do better at 30-33W.

Insomnia and slower cognitive functions are typical of withdrawal symptoms; lung inflammation is not. He should get checked by a doc if he feels his lungs are inflamed.

Bring your tfv4 and crown to a vape shop. Ask them to coil and wick them for you properly. Watch how they do it and ask questions if need be. I think the fee you pay the shop is cheaper than wasting juice, selling off tanks at a loss, and being frustrated in the long run.

Also if you want better flavor, consider using a dripper instead of a tank. You'll have less leaking problems for sure as a bonus.

I use six units Snubnose rda @ work; they're cheap and easy to rebuild/wick...ideal for sampling flavors, and I change a lot of wicks every day till I'm fedup . Got another 3 units snubnose at home and a mad hatter mini. Frankly, I prefer the mad hatter mini for the fliptop convenience but the flavor is less intense than the snubnose and middle notes are slightly (marginally) more muted. If you want clouds, get a Velocity but you'll have to claptonize it to get a half-decent flavor. Look for Tobeco clones of the aforementioned drippers...they are of good quality and very affordable; you can get several kinds of drippers to play with and see what suits u best.

It's difficult to help with your problem over a forum. I had in the past advised u in pm about the wire type, number of wraps, cotton etc, and you have made some progress (eg no more leakage). If Tristan or I were in front of you, a few tokes on your TFV4 and a quick look would enable us to give suggestions on remedy. However one factor we cannot help u on is your level of expectation of flavor. That's why I suggested you try a dripper because for the most part, a properly set-up dripper is easier to achieve, and most times they DO give better flavor than tanks.

Your bad luck to encounter shops who weren't proficient with the crown. Lingleeyen has been trying by himself until he's gotten so frustrated that he wants to sell his TFV4. Maybe his fate is the opposite of yours...can't learn by himself, but a vape shop could help him.

Well I can't say more than what has already been said. The vaping world is most diverse and we each have our own ways, preferences and likes/dislikes. Nothing wrong with that at all. The Crown is a respectable tank indeed, and since it's performing more to your satisfaction, enjoy!

Mr Poslaju finally delivered my 2nd TFV4 today...and I must say the quality is way much better than my first one. The glass edges are smooth not rough and lumpy, threads are so much smoother and the fit of everything is good. I didn't even have to struggle to remove the glass! Here's hoping the base is not an eater of o-rings like the first one

None of them were from fasttech. My boss brought 7 back from a China trip (of which 6 are being used for brewery sampling purposes). I got my first one (philips head screw clone RM39) from some guy who was walking around selling tanks etc in SS15, and 2 more (Tobeco clone using grubscrews RM45) from altsmo (URL below). Tip: the black model's topcap is hella tight compared to the mirror-finish model. RM7 for poslaju is very reasonable .

Yeah the closest u can find to it on FT is the older derringer (which for some reason ppl were ooh-ing and aah-ing over in v28 or 29 of this thread...i forget). But I prefer a bit more less-restrictive airflow at times when evaluating certain nuances, so snubnoses suit me better.

I don't know how large the grub screw head is because I don't own a Griffin, but u can try getting a torx bit (also known as a star screwdriver bit because of its shape) and tap it into the hole. Don't tap too hard or you will split the grub. With some luck, the torx bit will have enough purchase in the hole so u can unscrew the grub.

It works ok in power and tc modes, but the 5 slot memory setting doesn't work in tc mode, it works in power mode tho and remembers 5 wattages. Still no update to the firmware since last july. Dunno current prices, but u can shop around (Vape IT, Paktam vapor movement, Shopee etc).

I find Team Vape Labs' cotton to perform about the same as Kendo; but it's slightly cheaper than Kendo and if I recall correctly (I may be wrong) u get 2 grams of cotton more. Both do well in having less flavor creep than muji cotton pads and as near as makes no difference both have the same level/speed of juice absorption and resistance to burning.

You need to learn how to patiently turn a portion of the cotton ball into a thin even sheet and then roll it into a wick. If the cotton is thinned out evenly, your wick will not be lumpy. Kapas yg tak bergumpal senang aje digunting.

Such a waste. Better u practice thinning and rolling on a few cheap pharmacy cotton balls first (but don't use them to vape).

Once you get the hang of thinning and rolling, you'll find that wastage is very minimal...and you can sometimes "weave" extra bits of cotton back into a bigger piece. Nah I rolled one for u

Slowly practice lah...I'm very sure u can do it too. I used to roll cigarettes and cigars for my own use in the past (ex-smoker here). If u can roll a cigar properly, u can roll ANYTHING!!

I find it very soothing and relaxing to gently thin out a bit of cotton, trying to get it as even as possible...then rolling it into a cylinder as best as I can, keeping in mind the diameter of the coils i wanna wick.


No idea...I only use such cotton when evaluating the progress of more complex blends, or on my own fav juices...and they all have very minimal or zero sweeteners added. There is no doubt I can taste more accurately...it makes for umm err...am searching for words here...a cleaner truer flavor. But other than that most of the time I just grab a sheet of muji and snip away.

Vape Empire (there's a branch at Times Square) sells Youde Nichrome ;not stated as Ni60 or Ni80 but I don't taste any iron, so i'm assuming it's Ni80 alloy (80% Ni, 20% Cr). Ni60 is 60% Ni, 15 or 16% Cr, I can't remember offhand, and the balance is Fe.
Vapor Tech and Youde Ni tastes the same to me, with similar performance and longevity.
