I just love those short to mid-range mobile ballistic missiles like Scud missile. I believe these types of missiles still have a battlefield utility, primarily as an alternative to the air force for long-range strikes. They're relatively cheaper and easier to maintain, hide and operate than air forces with fixed infrastructures.

Just like Yemen doesn't have a functional air force, but they still can strike back and terrorize the Saudis by their Scud missiles strikes, their limited effectiveness notwithstanding.

Remind me of Iraq shooting it scud missile to Israel.
US have some problem finding it as well.
But such system have export restriction.

Yeah, the US spent a ton of time and resources looking for those Scuds, but Iraq still managed to launch a large number into Saudi Arabia and Israel, I think about 90 to 100 missiles were launched to both countries (40+ towards Israel and 40+ towards Saudi Arabia). Their military effects aren't that great, but they still had both countries on the very edge of their toes.

If want good quality Scud variants, we can always buy North Korean ones. laugh.gif

What the world’s armies eat

QUOTE
One of the biggest challenges facing any military is providing each soldier with a lightweight, self-contained, high-calorie meal inside of a combat zone.

These individual field rations called “Meal Ready-to-Eat”(MRE) are designed to give service members well-balanced meals that can last them an entire day.

Guns have been one of the most popular gifts this year - with the sale of weapons soaring in the months leading up to the holidays.

So, after the leftovers are stuffed into the tuppaware and extended family members are shoved out the door, thousands of everyday Americans who were given a firearm this Christmas headed out to a firing range to test their presents.

Scorpion 2 (Thales ECM) hard to say, now new rule is ECM is ban for export, only specially approval.  we can see now Fremm frigate export to morocco and Egypt already remove  Scorpion 2 (Thales ECM)
if we can get it much better and  Scorpion 2 should get it and install in our Gowind LCS too...  so far no news on it.

I don't think there is any restrictions for the Thales Scorpion as the Indonesian Sigma PKR 10514 is equipped with the Scorpion 2.

Looks like Singapore to debut a new Light Tank in 2016.

QUOTE
SAF war machines set to debut in 2016

In 2016, the Bionix 1 infantry fighting vehicles will be almost 20 years old. Senang Diri expects that the long-awaited AMX-13 SM1 light tank replacement will finally make its public debut in 2016. Expect heavy use of defence electronics to give the fighting vehicle's small crew superior awareness compared to previous platforms. The platform is said to have successfully completed exhaustive mobility trials overseas some time ago.

The hoisting of the RSAF TCOM aerostat, which was reportedly due in 2015 but never happened due to safety issues, is likely to make the news in 2016.

On the naval front, the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) is expected to take delivery of the Independence-class Littoral Mission Vessel (LMV) this year. The second and third LMVs could also be launched this year at the Singapore Technologies Marine yard in Benoi Basin, followed by a fitting-out period before sea trials.

ISIS reportedly recaptures the strategic town of ‘Ayn Issa on the Turkish border

user posted image

The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) has reportedly recaptured the strategic town of ‘Ayn Issa in the Al-Raqqa Governorate after a series of violent firefights with the U.S. backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) on Wednesday afternoon.

‘Ayn Issa is strategically located near the Turkish border with the Al-Raqqa Governorate; it was captured from ISIS earlier this year, resulting in the aforementioned terrorist group losing one of their most important border-crossings into Turkey.

ISIS is currently on the offensive in the Aleppo Governorate’s northern countryside, despite losing the imperative Tishreen Dam to the Syrian Democratic Forces and the predominately Kurdish “People’s Protection Units” (YPG) last weekend.

In addition to their attack on northern Al-Raqqa, ISIS is currently attacking the Turkish-backed “Free Syrian Army” (FSA), Jabhat Al-Shamiyah (Levantine Front), and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham at the small villages of Harjalah, Dalhah, Hewer Kilis, and Qarah Mazra’ah along the Turkish border with the Aleppo Governorate.

Currently, ISIS has backed off of the east Aleppo and west Raqqa fronts in order to secure a supply route from the Turkish border; this is one of the many reasons why they have concentrated most of their reserves to these once stagnate fronts in northern Syria.

Chinese Cyber Spies Reportedly Stole US Data to Build Bomber Drones

user posted image

QUOTE
Designs and technology for two new Chinese bomber drones that bear a striking resemblance to a cutting-edge U.S. military attack drone reportedly were stolen by Chinese cyber spies.
QUOTE
Drones aren't Beijing's only cyber-hacking target, the newspaper reports; other aircraft compromises have involved the B-2 bomber, the F-22 jet, and the frontline F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
QUOTE
In its cyber spying, the Chinese were able to exploit Facebook to penetrate target computers and fool users into responding to emails linked to a post, the newspaper reports. The spies were then able to implant malicious software that gave them access to user accounts and ultimately to defense secrets, the newspaper reports.

Americans have this delusion that with guns in hand they are capable of defending against a tyrannical US government (the reason they have the 2nd amendment).

This may have worked back in 1776 when the most advanced weapon was a muzzle-loading musket, everyone uses linear tactics and cavalry moved around with horses. I'd like to see these hillbilly hicks take on a squad of Marines and an M1 Abrams tank when the time comes. laugh.gif

Iran has more missiles than it can hide: General

user posted image

QUOTE
Iran's Revolutionary Guards have so many missiles they don't know where to hide them, a senior commander said at Friday prayers, after the United States threatened to impose fresh sanctions.

"We lack enough space in our stockpiles to house our missiles," said General Hossein Salami, the Guards' deputy, as a row with the US over Iran's ballistic missile programme deepened.
