Tiger Forces capture the village of Rasm Al-Sirhan in east Aleppo
The Syrian Arab Army’s special operations division known as the “Tiger Forces” has continued their massive advance through the Aleppo Governorate’s eastern countryside, capturing more sites from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) inside the Al-Bab Plateau.
Earlier today, the Tiger Forces – in close coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF), Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade), and Kataebat Al-Ba’ath (Al-Ba’ath Battalions) – imposed full control over the village of Rasm Al-Sirhan after a violent battle with the ISIS terrorists entrenched around this desolate area in the Aleppo Governorate.
According to a military source near the Kuweires Military Airport, the Tiger Forces and their allies had advanced to the village of Rasm Al-Sirhan after their successful campaign the day before in which they captured 4 villages from the ISIS terrorists situated to the south of Al-Bab city.
With the capture of Rasm Al-Sirhan today, the Tiger Forces and their allies have expanded their control over a large part of Al-Bab city’s southern flank; this will prove vital in the coming week as they target the town of ‘Aran, which is also situated to the south of Al-Bab.
Currently, violent firefights are taking place at the village of ‘Ayn Al-Jahesh and to the east of Rasm Al-Sirhan; it is very likely that the Tiger Forces continue to advance east of Al-Bab city in order to expand their territorial gains.

The Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) were able to hold onto the northern border of Al-Rastan Lake for nearly three years without ever conceding this important part of the Hama-Homs axis to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies.
However, this officially changed on Friday evening, when the Syrian Arab Army’s 47th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division – in close coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) – seized one of the last villages on the northern border of Al-Rastan Lake, marking the bitter end to the Islamists three year long resistance in the Hama Governorate’s southern countryside.
The Syrian Arab Army’s 47th Brigade and their allies imposed full control over the village of Jarisah in southern Hama after a violent firefight with the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham on Friday morning.
In fact, the capture of Jarisah by the Syrian Armed Forces came just two hours after they seized the village of Deir Furdays; this aforementioned site is also located in the Hama Governorate’s southern countryside, but it does not border Al-Rastan Lake
With the capture of Jarisah, the Syrian Armed Forces have now taken control of all but one village on the northern border of Al-Rastan Lake.
Two days ago, the Syrian Armed Forces pulled out of Harbinafsah after seizing it 24 hours prior to their withdrawal; however, they have once again positioned themselves at the northern flank of the village in preparation for the final assault.

The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” (Qawat Al-Nimr) and their allies are on the move in the Aleppo Governorate’s eastern countryside, capturing several villages that were once under the control of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) inside the Al-Bab Plateau and the Deir Hafer Plains.
With the amount of territory the Tiger Forces and their allies have captured inside the Aleppo Governorate’s eastern countryside in the last three months; it would require a substantial amount of military personnel to protect the roads and villages in order for the Syrian Arab Army to progress further along the ISIS frontier.
According to a senior officer from the Syrian Arab Army in Damascus, a fresh batch of recruits that just graduated from training camp in the Qalamoun Mountains (Al-Nabk and Dayr Attiyah) have been deployed to this front in order to fulfill the army’s recent manpower quota.
The source further added that the aggregated number of military personnel is in the thousands.
Most of these conscripted soldiers hail from the Syrian capital of Damascus, as well as the Syrian provinces of Al-Quneitra, Al-Sweida, and Homs.
The arrival of these reinforcements should free up several soldiers from the Tiger Forces and Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra (Desert Hawks Brigade) that are currently tasked with protecting the captured villages.
