coolly, an advice for you working as accountant/audit in KL :

Never expect high salary from audit firm unless you are working on a commercial line company.

Good job always come with patience.

Good LUCKS!!

aCTUALLY, i DON'T COMPLETELY AGREE with u !!

In Malaysia,Big 4 paids more than RM 2 K for freshgraduate (degree or ACCA graduate) and they are employing a lot of people since their turnover is quite high.

Out of the big4, only PWC quite choosy about the candidates, mostly they pick those candidates that have very strong academic result.

As apposed to most commercial line company, most of them paid below RM2K for the ranking of Account officer (freshgraduate). If Account assistant, they pay range is from 1.0 K -1.5 K.
Ya, I do agree that in MNC like British America Taboca etc, they paid well, but the places is so limited & the labor turnover is low.

I hate the fact tht some (actually a lot) commercial co. give higher bonus to sales team & production line staff, & little bonus to Account, HR staff.

But in the end(after 5/10 years), an accountant will earn more than an engineering graduate.

2.5K huh? My gf's sister working for 6 years in audit firm but the pay is only RM2K

I totally agree with you that accountant are being treaten as non-reveneu employee but this is what the fact is. In outside world, you need to patience and more importantly is choose a company which recognize your cert(LCCI/ACCA/CIMA) and is a good company. Not any company just throw a thing to you and ask you to finish it up today no matter what. I believe experienced accountant will know what I'm trying to tell but freshgraduate/working in commercial line please don't interfere with audit firm. Commercial company and audit firm is completely different job. Make it clear.

Sometimes, not all firm also offer the price you get nowadays. I'm not sure why she didn't get a high salary but sometimes it depends. Btw, my GF's sister qualification is only LCCI. Maybe that's the reason why it was low.

What can we do? That's how the life's in KL as accountant. You turn the offer down because low salary, jobless you will get because Malaysia is full of IT and accounting graduates. You don't want work then else will. That's how it goes.

working for 5-6 years already, still need to go ACCA? Btw, there's 2 reason. The first one is her qualification and the second one which I concern the most is the company's boss. My Gf's sister don't quite like to work with the company anymore but scare of losing a job if resign.

i heard that there is also an easier way to get ACCA.
but it use 4 years..
it's a degree course for accounting. then after u get ur degree, u can go for pro level(ACCA). and just need to take the last part of the ACCA exam.

and i wish to knw.normally how long do ppl use to finish up the last part exam of ACCA? as i know there will be about 4 or 5 papers to sit!

and while i'm taking the ACCA exam, could i also work?
coz the ACCA need 3 years working experience only can get the cert rite?
so means while i'm working, i also take the ACCA exam.
so that i wont waste my time.
for example. i take 2 and half year to finish up my ACCA exam, and after half year later then i can get the ACCA cert.

can i do so?

It doesn't concern on your working experience to get a ACCA cert. As long as you pass all the paper, then you'll get. Of course you can work while study ACCA because it really helps ur study. But do find an audit firm job as account asst. to learn more thing and also spare some time to study up ur subject. This is the most recommended way to success in ACCA anyways. Btw, you can take ACCA lesson part time on night so u able to work on the day.

Huh, yeah, you need 3 years to become a chartered accountant and working while pursuing ACCA is counted as working experiences.

errr...... as long as you have 3 years working experiences with a ACCA cert then you are chartered accountant. But doesn't mean that you study ACCA full time then you are entitled also working experiences.
