Just e-mail QCD Berjaya Times Square. They say that my phone is among the affected units & need 2-3 days to diagnose. I thought it's a straight replacement since it's already confirmed by Apple.

Apple has determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down. This is not a safety issue and only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015.

If you have experienced this issue, please visit an Apple Authorized Service Provider and have your device's serial number checked to confirm eligibility for a battery replacement, free of charge.

QCD need 3-5 days to diagnose while Switch need 7 days which i find it unacceptable lol.

QCD even told me that the affected units is only a ''small number'' therefore they need to diagnose but what if after they diagnose & wont replace the battery. that's why im reluctant to send it.

are they replacing the battery or changing it for a refurbish unit? not acceptable to take 3-5 days to diagnose.

i have a bad feeling about this.

if they replace the battery unit, i hope they do it properly as i do not like to have my phone back with a wobbling screen. I have a bad experience of this situation previously.

if they change it for a refurbish unit, i hope that the one i will get is a good one. not faulty (i.e., yellowish screen, storage problem etc etc)

I am thinking of switching to a new phone instead of having to deal with wobbling screen or faulty unit after this process.

hmmmm

i have had the problem with battery for several times in the last 1-2 months. less than 20 % and a sudden shutoff. turn it on back again, the battery left around 20% but shutoff again in seconds.

bought my phone november last year.

i don't think they will change for a refurbish unit since they mentioned that only a small number of affected units only.

that's why i'm not willing to send in for them to diagnose only for them to tell me later that your unit is not entitled for battery replacement since we do not find anything wrong with your battery.

i did encounter phone shutdown when battery around 20%. iinm around 3 times since upgrade to IOS 10.1.1 & i thought it's related to software issue.

I enquire with Machines and as per below are their reply
The program affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015. Perhaps you can share your serial number for us to advice you further.

After I reply with my serial number with Q8 in it, they reply:
Your device is eligible for the battery replacement program. Please note the following before visit Machines Service Centre.

1) Make sure all data is backed-up (the Service Center do not provide data back-up service, all data will be erased once the unit is surrendered)
2) Disable Find My iPhone (FMiP) feature from the unit.
3) The program will replace only the battery.
4) Estimation whole process is 7-10 working days (excluding weekends and public holiday).
6) No loaner/temporary unit will be provided.
7) Accessories such as screen protector/tampered glass is not covered and consider loss once the unit is surrendered.

when I enquire if this can be done in a day, this is their reply:
The process is done by Apple. The process take logistics, parts import and availability into consideration.
Feel free to contact Machines Service Centre for further advice regarding this.
