Anyone's home button occasionally has some sort of popping/crackling sound when pressed? Not sure what's the best word to describe it but it's like the home button popping back to place.

Seriously if the popping sound then not longer smooth touch, try to warranty as well
*
Yes would like to bring it in but:

1) It happens only occasionally so it'll be difficult to reproduce it at the service centre.

2) Need to know if it is also kinda common so that I know what are the chances for the replacement unit to behave the same way also.

Never had that problem. Were you pressing it at an angle?
*
Not necessary for it to be pressed at certain angle for the pop/crack sound. It's most probably the button getting misaligned once in a while and when that happens, pressing it will make the button sit properly again and probably that's when the sound comes.

It does not happen often for now but definitely a concern for a relatively new phone.

yeah i encountered this before once, that time i was in the plane which just landed, i thought it was due to air pressure..But since now you also encounter this, possibly is due to misalignment of button.
*
So it happened only once for you? Since then no more?

Afaik there were issues on cracking noise on the home button since the 5s. I would think that it could be a missaligned home button or some dust or lint that have somehow gotten inside the housing. Im pretty sure its just an annoyance, rather than a really major issue. You try sending it back to Apple Reseller Service Centres and ask them if they could open up the phone on the spot to see what is the issue.
*
Do the service centres open up phones for checking and probably some cleaning/servicing?

Otherwise I'll wait until things get worse and for the noise to happen more frequently, then I'll probably go to a reputable iPhone repair shop and ask them open it up and see what's up with the home button.

And yes you are right, it does not seem to affect usability so at the moment definitely just annoyance.

Guys

I'm such a klutz sometimes. Just wondering if you guys have any suggestion for good casing available here in Malaysia ? Any suggestions would really helpful. Thanks!

I personally will survey Spigen cases first to see if there's any I like, their casings are pretty good and yet still remains in the affordable price range.

I have ordered from them as Mac service center has no store for iPhone 6S plus Sim tray

5-7 working days is needed to be delivery from Singapore,  sad.gif

If you need it fast perhaps you can also check with some of the independent iPhone repair shops, they might have it.

I was charging my phone and seems like my Touch ID no rasa when I was touching it...

No rasa as in? Not detecting your fingerprint to unlock the phone? So far I have no issues with Touch ID while charging.

Yup obvious sign of a refurbish unit. If brand new, they will open a new box in front of u.
I have no complains with refurbish unit. My refurbish is better quality than brand new bcoz Apple will have to go through a single item quality check after repair , to qualify it as refurbish.
Brand new units random quality checks - worse quality. That is why u send ur 'new' phone for warranty anyway.
*
Yes, don't be disheartened by a refurbish unit as it will be as good as new and goes through a QC check. Just check for cosmetic flaws as sometimes the shell of the phone is not replaced and might have some flaws.

Anybody facing yellow tint on their 6 or 6s?
*
If it's the whole screen being more yellowish than other units, might be normal as Apple have different suppliers for the display so depending on the batch, it might not be the same.

If it's just certain parts of the screen, wait it out for a while as with all new phones, sometimes it's the glue not fully cured. I'd say give it a few weeks and if it's still the same, try bringing it in for warranty.

QUOTE(Lorenzo Von Matterhorn @ Jan 18 2016, 12:23 PM)
Hi guys

Just got my first iphone (6s plus 128gb) from Apple online store last week. When I first switched on the phone to activate it, I instantly realised that the top edge of my phone screen is unevenly lit, and there's some sorta dark band/shadow along the top edge. I went to Machine to check the display units, and found that all of them have the same 'problem' as my phone, except one. I checked with the Machine staff, and was informed that this is bcos my phone is still  new, and I should use and charge it for few times and it will improve gradually. He even showed me the older iphone 6plus on display that the shadow will disappear as repeated charging and use.

After 3 days of using my new iphone, the 'shadow' still remains there. Quite concern, I'd called Apple Care support this morning and spoken to the technician. Was told that might be due to software issues, as I still haven't updated my phone to the last ios 9.3. It's still the same after I updated it to 9.3. Now, the technician advised me to send my phone to the repair centre for a diagnosis, which I'm reluctant since it's just 4-day-old.

As I'm new to iphone, just want to ask whether is it normal for iphone to have such 'shadowy' screen on the top edge? To me it seems that something's not right with the screen, since it looks like that part is unevenly lit. I looked at my old Sony Z1, but the screen color near the top edge is always in dark color, unlike iphone 6s plus that is in white background, so I cant observe if it's also the same.

What the staff in Machine told me, is it true?  But I don't really believe what the staff in Machine told me, since there's one 6splus in display that looks perfectly lit and bright. Should I send my phone to repair centre?

pls help, thanks!

Perhaps what you are experiencing is light bleed? You can search for it on Google and see if it's similar?

You can try other service centres apart from Machines and get a second opinion.

Sent in my 6S for warranty claim just now, seems to be have small "burn marks" (black spots) at the top left of the screen, service center refers that as pixel anomalies. Hopefully can get it back before CNY. sad.gif

Will they try to repair or replace another 6s?  hmm.gif

I don't think Apple practices repairing, at least for mobile devices. Usually they will replace with a refurbish unit, then your unit will be refurbished and pass on to someone else.

Do most normal tempered glass still don't stick properly at the side?

Funny thing is my new replacement/refurbished set seems to not have so much curve at the side and now most tempered glass can stick properly.

I wonder if this issue was rectified for later batches? hmm.gif

I think anyone who's looking to get an iPhone should wait until the Apple Event on Tuesday 1am.

iPhone SE (new 4" iPhone with 6s specs) is strongly rumoured to be announced.
*
While there will still be people who wants a 4" phone, majority would prefer at least the 4.7" model.

But full coverage (edge-to-edge) tempered glass might be able to hide the part where it is not sticking?
