no..based on what i checked...it's landing at Narita...then transit to Haneda...from there fly to Kansai
*
ANA also flies from NRT direct to Kansai (ITM, not KIX) leh. Just that possibly there are issues with pricing (more expensive) or timing.

Example ANA 816 (KUL-NRT) reach Tokyo 3pm
Then ANA 2177 (NRT-ITM) reach Osaka 6.15pm

Note: this year snowfall throughout Honshu is pathetic thanks to El Niño. Nozawa onsen (where I'm thinking of going in early Feb) normally has 600-700cm of snow by now, but this year cumulative snowfall barely 150cm lol.

Trip #1 (Tokyo only). That time haven't blog yet so no picture, just use imagination saja lol.

Day 1 harajuku, Meiji shrine, takeshitadori, by coincidence saw super yosakoi fest at omotesando, kabukicho, and then some random ramen at omoideyokocho

Day 2 tsukiji (market+sushi dai), odaiba (megaweb, gundam), akihabara (maid cafe, otaku culture), LaQua spa

Day 3 asakusa, sensojii temple, ameyokocho shopping street. Then namjatown for miracle fruit, gyoza stadium and cup ice museum (weird ice cream flavors like chicken wing)

Day 4 disneysea

Day 5 tsukiji (daiwa sushi) then balik KL liao

Trip 2 http://look-see-eat.blogspot.sg/2013/04/ja...e-days.html?m=1

Trip 3 http://look-see-eat.blogspot.sg/2015/10/th...n-path.html?m=1

Trip 4 short one saja. Day 1 and 2 nozawa onsen for skiing. Day 2 afternoon or day 3 morning detour to jigokudani for monkeys (depending on snow situation). Then terus travel to Tokyo for a few days n balik after that.

Even though unker stimix might be wrong to rage at hotel kinki, I will still boycott it cos LYN mod boycott means I also must boycott!! the mattress really hard and uncomfortable. I stay around 12 different place in Japan it's the worst, even compare to budget ryokan that sleep on the floor tongue.gif

Rm2000 Per Night = Rm200 Per Hour

Sounds like cheong rate in KL brows.gif icon_idea.gif Anyway why only the first few photo are nice size then the rest all like super small thumbnail? Can't see properly leh cry.gif

Is this a normal price??? ¥4,000?? rclxub.gif

You rclxub.gif because you think it's cheap or because expensive? hmm.gif

Looking back at my notes, in 2011 I paid ¥ 3,900
2013 went again but didn't record price doh.gif

Anyway it's accepted as one of the better value sushi in Tokyo. Cos if you go other famous top sushi place in town easily ¥20-30k+ lol. But on the flip side if go during wrong time the queue crazy long.

Hi all sifu's

On Monday I'm taking this journey:

QUOTE
17:16
begin NARITA AIRPORT TERMINAL 1
LTD. EXP NARITA EXPRESS 40
18:18

18:40

transfer TOKYO
[ Arrival track No.2 / Departure track No.21 ]
SHINKANSEN HAKUTAKA 575
20:38

end IIYAMA

22min connection should be pretty reasonable. But ... am I right in assuming that there wouldn't be enough time to go hunt down an ekiben shop, choose a bento, pay for it, and still navigate to the shinkansen track on time?

Cos it's around dinner time, scared hungry leh. More realistic to just order something on the 2nd train?

sacwoc thanks! I was thinking of hunting down ekiben-ya matsuri or daimaru cos Google say their ekiben is nice, but I guess trying to do that within a 20min time frame while dragging luggage along in an unfamiliar place isn't really feasible.

Good to know there are other shops along the way though, will just hantam a random one that looks nice 👍🏿

Reporting in from Nozawa Onsen!

Travel time was brutal - 6+ hr flight then 3 hr train then 30 min bus. And it's cold as hell up here in the hills. It's OK though, ski time!

Haven't touched a ski pole or a ski boot for I think 12 or 13 years, so consider not too bad lah.

It snowed today which was kind of cool and yet also annoying to get all the snow in your face when you're going down a slope.

lucaswjk that's kind of impossible for ppl like us living in hot area who can only ski a couple of days a year lol.

Anyway the ski resort my favorite course was the rinkan one. Beginner level obviously. Double speed video cos it was 6km long and took me 15+ mins to complete. Skip to 1:10s ...

Reporting in from Odawara. Although the weather was "only" around 6-9deg, it ended up being COLD thanks to wind + long term exposure (wife and I spent I think 4-5 hours outdoors?).

user posted image

By a rough estimation I think around 25% of the trees are decently blooming (like the pic) ... another 25% in various stages of bloom and the remaining 50% still buds only no flowers. Probably within next few weeks will be perfect.

Oh, also ... Odawara castle is under earthquake restoration until April ... doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif
